Visited The Fishpond for the 1st time today, a couple of pints of Birra Moretti and pizzas all for less than £25.
The pizzas were amazing, very well prepared and cooked with very generous helping of toppings, they were the best pizzas I think I've ever tasted.
Also had some parmesan chips, which were a bit of a let down because I was expecting them to be baked with the cheese on but they were basically cheesy chips.
Other than that, 1st class day out whilst on holiday, even the dogs were allowed in.

We went in here on Sunday as we had our new puppy with us, after we found that we couldn’t take him in anywhere else in Matlock bath, and it was too cold to sit out side.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and they welcomed us in to eat even with our puppy. In fact most of the customers had dogs, and there wasn’t any problems, and they were all well behaved.
The food was well priced, and very nice as well. We will be returning soon as they made our cold afternoon very enjoyable

The fish pond is great, but the SinnaMan wasted one and a half hours of my life I never get back , the support act’s were good but he looked like he had put-no work into his act , now I’ve seen this guy 3 Times now and it seemed as if something was wrong, if it wasn’t for the support acts I’d have wanted my money back .
Also the layout was wrong , no tables just a Sunday school or a AA meeting . Rant done

Stumbled across the fish pond on Sunday evening whilst looking for somewhere to eat. They must have had a really busy day as a fair proportion of the menu had sold through. They did however did the best they could under the circumstances and provided us with a more than suitable spread. It was also open mike night and what a fab night it turned out to be. Thank you More...

Lovely place with very good food and a vast array of drinks. Sadly, I miss Coors light on tap (will you ever consider bringing it back? ). The staff is awesome special mention for Angie who is simply great and absolutely friendly with people and dogs. My little Daisy (pooch) adores her and so do we. Despite no Coors light I still go there every week-end as The Fishpond is one of the perfect places to be in Matlock Bath to take the sun in their beer garden or sit by the fire in the colder months. Decent beer and truly excellent food - huge portions of first class quality. There are vegan options - the vegan pizza was massive and reportedly superb. Burger was in homemade bun (thankfully NOT a nasty brioche bun) with homemade chips that were big enough to qualify as roast potatoes, big stack of onion rings, homemade coleslaw and salad. Proper bottles of sauces instead of wretched sachets, too. The other two diners had Steak and Kidney pies which were also brilliant - tons of quality filling - not just gravy. Fantastic value, highly recommended.. More...

Fantastic food, great prices! Hugely impressed with the Fishpond. Came here by chance really and We were all I mpressed. The bar tender, though brand new, was friendly and patient as I had a large order. The drinks were well priced. Food came quite quickly despite how busy they were and yet all of the food was piping hot and delicious. Personally I had the Fishpond meat feast pizza which properly wood fired and hand made. Other food our group had were burgers, pasta and more. All of it was brilliant - portion sizes by the way, huge, but in the best way! Only one person couldn’t finish and Fishpond provided a takeaway box. Will 100% come again. Hugely recommended!! More...

Really good food and excellent value for money. 5 people in our group and everyone enjoyed their meal. The bread for my son's ham and cheese sandwich was fresh and light and cut thick. The ham was good quality and obviously cut fresh and thick. My mixed grill was brilliant. The steak was cooked to medium exactly how it was requested and the rest of the meat was of equal quality. The chips were rustic and tasted amazing. Even the salads looked good. Very impressed over all and would certainly go back if I was visiting the area again More...

First visit for many years. Much improved inside. Food very good, however, pricey and needs attention to detail with regards to what's served. Roast chicken meal with new boiled tates passed off as roast?! Also, trimmed beans not topped & tailed! BEWARE!
On the plus side, excellent range of real ales.

I came to guitar a little later in life - after a 25+ year break form making music in my school days. I started trying to self-teach via books & YouTube & soon realised I would progress faster with help from someone who actually knew what they are doing. Darren's focus with his teaching is on playing songs. It's not academic, it's about getting on with it and making music from the word go. Within one lesson, I was playing a tune (probably badly!), but this was great progress for me.With any musical instrument, you need practice, practice, practice - but the help, support & guidance from Darren has been invaluable. The proof, for me, is where I am at with my music today: Playing a series of festivals and recording an EP with my two-piece band "Little Red Dog" (facebook.com/LittleRedDogMusic), and playing bass guitar for Steampunk rockers "BB Blackdog" (facebook.com/BBBlackdog).Thanks Daz :-) More...

I'm an advanced guitar teacher myself but I still wanted to push my playing further. I had gaps in my knowledge that I wanted to fill so I could become a competent teacher. Daz has helped me out so much! He understands the areas I struggle with and helps me put them into perspective, making more achievable goals. The lessons are always fun and we often get carried away chatting (he's very helpful with business advice too!) though he's happy to go over-time to make sure you get all your paid time playing the guitar. I certainly intend on sticking with Daz whilst aiming to achieve my grade 8s by different grading bodies (currently working on RGT) ~ Fantastic! Thanks Daz :D More...
