It was a bed to sleep in and did the job but alot needs done to the interior of the building and te rooms. The staircase was shabby and needed new carpets and decor. The room had a hole in the wall, stains on carpets and curtains, horrible wooden panel on bath, tap that didnt work properly, no toilet roll holder. Breakfast wasnt too nice had to keep waiting for more food as it was being taken from buffet and not replaced on time. Also our room key card didnt work twice which was an inconvenience. I wouldnt recomend this hotel. More...

Avoid!!!!

It's more of a building site than anything else!

Mouldy roof, in places painted over!

The floor is uneven, squeaky, feels like walking on water!

The staircase is filthy, full of stains, and in places thorn!

Room carpet with strange yellow stains!

Room door and bathroom door provisional, just given a coat of paint to make them look white!

Bathroom tiles mouldy!!

Roof patched with a wood plate. Which is peeling off at one corner!

Chair with paint stains, from the patchwork painting!

According to a sticker on the window, it should only open a max of 10cm, (for health and safety reasons), it opened fully!

Not sure if that was all.....

On a positive side the woman at reception were helpful and friendly!

Glasgow is a place to visit! Just don't stay at this hotel!!

Staff at reception were friendly, we arrived about 6pm and went straight out for the evening. They were decorating the foyer, our room was freezing. In full light of the next day. The room was dirty, dusty and in need of redecorating, with the smallest tv ever. We went for breakfast ( 8-10) at 8:45, there was no cooked food left, when we asked if more was coming we were told they didn't like to cook to much as they hate waste. We waited about 15mins and they brought out 3 eggs and 4 pieces of bacon. This was not enough ad three were a lot of people waiting. The food was under cooked. I won't be back. More...

I was a bit worried about staying as the reviews I’d read weren’t the best.

So glad we decided to go anyway. We found the hotel and our room warm, clean and tidy, staff very helpful and friendly. We requested an upper floor as the hotel sits right on a busy street, our request was honoured with not a problem. The hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the centre or we found it very easy just to get a taxi. Taxi wasn’t all that much either £3-£4 def worth it when in heels!

Car parking no problems; and finally the breakfast, very tasty. Plenty of choice, Great value for money! I for one would and will hopefully return. Thank you Devoncove Hotel, we had a great weekend.

Great place to be. Amazing room service. I missed my breakfast and I think the 2 hour window is a bit short but other than that. Great budget accommodation. Pubs and takeaways within walking distance and some across the road.
Hot water, central heating, great staff and free parking.

Absolutely avoid this hotel! Was a good customer until last 2 occasions. I parked outside hotel to check in with all my luggage. Was told by Reception staff it was ok to park there after asking where to park. A month later, checked in myself, friend & 2 excited daughters for a concert. Again, I asked if I was ok parking car to be told same thing, car was fine there until morning. That same night, a man with a key walked in to my friend's room as Reception staff had cocked up rooms upon our early arrival. My friend's daughter was completely terrified to go to sleep. Breakfast was an absolute shambles. Then I receive a parking ticket from Glasgow City Council. Hotel is taking no responsibility. Shame on you Devoncove Hotel. More...

I stayed at this hotel the night of the 22nd of dec 2017. I left a very beautiful handmade silver skull ring in the room. Rang the hotel several times... but it was never found. Very disappointed with the hotel as I know I left it in the room. More...

Bathroom had mold in all corners and the ceiling was cracked and looked like it wasn’t far from caving in and after numerous complaints I was kept in the same room all week very unhappy with how the staff handled things.

Wow where to start? upon entry I was told it was too early to check in which was fine.....The rude staff member behind the desk looked so uninterested. I asked if there was somewhere to leave my case and she said with a huff and a puff well yes, I then said ok I am going to go to the bathroom first to which she rolled her eyes at me and again huffed and puffed, I came back to put my care in and she was on the phone so I politely waited....while she was on the phone she was rolling her eyes huffing and puffing explaining that it wasnt her problem..to the person on the other end of the phone. She then came to open the door for the luggage room and said erm just put it in there ..ok done..... Now i get up to my room later on, The windows dirty and the wallpaper etc wasnt great...around the light switch looked like it had been fixed or filled with something. The rack in the shower was white and all rusty, easy fit for the bin, the soap was sat on top of the toilet seat with other items. It was not worth the money paid for and tbh I wouldnt go back if I was paid to. shocking treatment from the front of house staff. Contemplating making a formal complaint! More...

Stayed here last night with my daughter & her friend, as we were at the hydro for a concert. Room & bathroom were clean & tidy, lots of space & warm. Breakfast was ok kids didn't really like much that was offered & would prefer fresh fruit instead of fruit in syrup but other than that staff were pleasant & enjoyed our stay. More...

One of the worst hotel experiences ever. Rude staff especially duty manager Jacqui . Seriously needs to go on a course to learn how to deal with unhappy guests. Dated dirty rooms. Terrible service at breakfast. More...

Arrived yesterday, got 2 buds from the bar £9.50? Weather was freezing and snowing, got into room thought I'd stepped back outside, was freezing! Marched down to complain and she said she'll switch the heating on ??? The room should have been warm as they knew we were coming, asked for a heater which they sent up, we were in Glasgow for a concert so just wanted a bed, preferably with a warm room, no restaurant to eat but calls itself a hotel? I'd have been warmer in an igloo, AVOID!!!!! More...

Dirty mouldy bathroom wall cracked tiled floor . No toilet brush, curtains tatty and not ironed and ill fitting.
Paid £14 for breakfast only to be told we had to pay and extra £10 to upgrade to cooked breakfast.
Lady at receptions on sunday when we complained said " check the small print "
When I pay for breakfast I expect a breakfast !
So it cost £ 14 for 2 cups of tea and 2 slices of toast .
Stay away !

Room was dated and dirty. Bathroom was dirty and there was a vile smell. Mirror over dressing table was in the wrong position to be able to sit down and do my make up etc. TV was temperamental. Staff were very unhelpful and didn’t appear to be overly helpful. Room was expensive considering my cousin who had a much bigger room paid nearly £20 less for a room with the same issues but a tv that didn’t work so we ended up in my small room. We did call reception about the tv but they never appeared and when we called later didn’t answer the phone. More...

We stayed overnight on Saturday night. Upon arrival to drop our bags off, the Receptionist was rather grumpy and couldn’t be bothered rising off her chair to help us – but eventually did reluctantly. When we came back later in the afternoon to check-in, our room had been changed for some unknown reason from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor which we wouldn’t have minded if our bathroom hadn’t been grubby. The bedroom itself was clean, but the towels were left from the previous guest along with some used toiletries. It looked like Housekeeping had cleaned the toilet, the sink and the floor but completely forgot about the bath and there was mildew around the rim. We went to the Reception (who now had another Receptionist on the desk) and she was very helpful and organised for the bath to be cleaned and the dirty towels plus used toiletries removed. The next morning when we went for breakfast, we were informed it was a Continental Breakfast only and for a Cooked Breakfast we had to pay £6.50pp. At no time during the booking process were we told it would be a Continental Breakfast only. On the plus side, apart from that, everything was fine and for our inconvenience, we got a complimentary late check-out as opposed to paying £10 per hour. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and we won’t be staying here again. For the money, although it’s in a great location, there is better places that is better value for money. More...

Stayed for a concert

Could do with being pulled down and redone from top to bottom. The place is unkept, dirty and in need of renovation BADLY!!!

- stair carpet up to the rooms is pitted! Filthy and covered in stains & the room carpet is not much better.

The Divan beds are solid - mattress has probably seen better days and the bases filthy! Duvet was about 3cm thick and the pillows like pancakes! If it wasn’t so late at night we certainly wouldn’t be staying here!

Tv is like a postage stamp & has one Channel

Paint work all chipped, wardrobe literally covering a great big hole in the bloody wall!

Premier inn 1000% better .... never again will i stay here.

£80 a night- wouldn’t give you 8p

AVOID!

Check in at 3.00pm. Room 108 for one night it was lovely, and clean, and quite roomy. A-lovely bathroom .The room was very cold when we arrived, but as we went straight out we didn’t mind. When we returned it was lovely and warm.
The staff seemed very friendly, and they asked me where I had parked. I said on the street staff told me I could go to the back of the hotel, and park for free. The only down side, was the lane you have to drive alone.,If you have a car that is low you will take your sump of your car. Other than that it was handy for the venue, shops, and bars would stay again.
