Honestly couldn’t fault anything! Stayed here for 4 nights for a work trip. Quirky hotel which builds character. All the staff are friendly as well as the locals that go into the bar! ||The room was the perfect size as I had some evening work to do and there was a desk. ||You must eat here! Honestly the best food that I’ve had in the uk especially the king prawn dish. ||Huge thank you to Alex the manager, and the lady behind the desk, who helped to get my car up and running as the battery had died during my stay. Didn't stay at hotel, just popped 8n for a beer or two. Nice friendly bar with good selection of ales, Spitting Feathers IPA was well on form, noticed a wide gin selection too. Nice hotel/restaurant/bar in historical timbered building dating back to 1585. Pop in, if your in town. More...

My wife and I stayed for two nights last week on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November 2019 we arrived a little earlier than the normal check in time but they made us very welcome and made sure our room was made available without any hesitation, the room was spotless and had a huge double bed (larger than a king size) it was up on the top floor so nice and quiet. It had the usual features ie tv tea and coffee biscuits etc a small e-suite with full size bath with shower attachment also the usual selection of toiletries We had our evening meal in the Crowns dining room and the food was excellent as was the friendly staff who served us nothing was too much trouble. We would have eaten on the following evening but we were in Nantwich at the funeral of a dear friend of ours so spent all of the Friday paying our respects and being with the family. The management and all the reception staff were more than helpful as I wasn't too sure about how to find my way to were the funeral was as my sat nav had packed up on the way to Nantwich one of the managers Alex even gave me his mobile number so that I could contact him if I had a problem. In conclusion all I can say is well done all at the Crown for making our short stay such a great occasion More...

Lovely old pub in the town centre, I don’t think spirit levels had been invented in 1585 when the pub was rebuilt but it all adds to the experience. All the staff were really helpful and friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere in the evening. Most of all I must say that in 60 years and a fair few pints I have never tasted such amazing beer, it was worth the trip just for that. More...

Me, my Partner and our 5 year old decided to stop and have some lunch here (we were scoping it out with a view to getting married here) with it being a local establishment. It was a revoltingly wet day and were a bit soggy, so to walk into the bar area and sit by a roaring fire was just fabulous. I hadn't been for a number of years and had obviously had a refurb at some time, but it was warm, cosy and inviting. We had a delicious lunch (my partner had the biggest pork chop I've ever seen!!) and I went for the steak skewers with Chimichurri sauce and sweet potato fries. Our little one is a fussy little monkey, so he happily went with a couple of huge scoops of ice cream from the ice cream farm a few miles down the road. All of it was absolutely delicious, it really was. Our waiter (I think his name was Jamie) was attentive and good fun - and brilliant with our son. The prices are mid-range, but you certainly get what you pay for. We were then shown around by the lovely Hannah and we knew we had made the perfect choice for both lunch and our wedding day. More...

During a visit to the Midlands, our family took us to The Crown for a walk about and lunch. The history of the Hotel and Pub is fascinating. The historic pub is beautiful. Lunch was served in the newer addition which was lighter and more modern. We had quite a large group, but the service and the food were top notch. The menu had quite a variety to offer and the bar/cocktail list was plentiful. ||After lunch, we toured the oldest part of the Hotel. Just seeing the old original architecture was amazing.
