Wow this place has changed since I last visited. It's expanded and is bright and clean with modern touches whilst retaining the charm of the very old original building. I popped in with a colleague who's vegan in the hope they might have something they could do for him and was stunned when they presented him with their Vegan menu.The food was great, reasonably priced and the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.I'll definitely make an effort to go back next time I'm in the area. The Crown and Cushion is a brilliant pub for drinks and food. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is fantastic and there's a good range of beers and other drinks. Had lunch there today and it was very good. Staff very attentive and the place had a nice ambience. It has changed quite a bit since I was last there some 30 years ago. It's not cheap but worth it. A person on the table next to us ordered haddock and chips. The fish was huge and could not see how she was going to eat all of it so will try that next time. More...

I ate there twice. Once in the front and another time in the back with a party. Front had a good atmosphere with friendly service and they kept my cup full. Food was good enough that there weren’t any leftovers in our group. The back room has a great story and plenty of space. Bar keep was polite and accommodating. Great pub, I go here often for a few drinks. Staff are very friendly and the outside area is lovely since they have renovated. Pints are average price, and the food is good too, I would highly recommend the sharing starter platter.
The only issue is that the car park is a bit small and it can be a hassle finding a space on busier nights, especially since they have made the pub bigger. More...

What a turnaround for this venue from a few years ago. Bigger, more ambience, great service, good food. As a customer service trainer for a large blue chip company, I can tell the staff have been selected and trained to a high standard, which is wonderful to experience in a what is essentially a pub. Go visit!

Amazing decoration, went with friends for a christmas meal we all had a 3 course meal at a reasonable price. Food was amazing, I recommend the chiken skewers for starters and the tiramisu cheesecake or the sundae with chocolate cookie for dessert.
