Our first private chef experience was out of this world! Craig was so professional yet personable, with great banter but also gave us space to enjoy our evening and savour our delicious food. We had many phone conversations to define the menu and he was very patient with lots of suggestions and ideas. Craig is an incredible chef, he has provided daily breakfasts and a variety of evening meals for our family of 8 in our beachfront holiday villa. His attention to detail is second to none and his ability to work out what his clients would like is fabulous. From our 15 year old son to my 80 year old father-he’s provided what everyone has wanted! We have had the most wonderful local seafood this evening-beautifully presented and the entire dinner exceeded my expectations by a long shot! The quality and quantity was superb. Craig catered for my friends wedding at the beginning of June. The food was just beautiful! He had a made a big sharing platter offering a selection of cold meats with chutneys, olives and peppers to start. All the guests loved it. We had a choice of chicken and beef for our main with a lovely selection of salads and sides. It was a rustic look which is what the bride and groom wanted but he made it so elegant and refined. Craig catered for our wedding the 1st June in a marquee near Bigbury-on-Sea. Craig really listened to the vision we had for our food and took all our tastes into consideration. We went for big wooden boards full of sirloin beef, chicken and amazing salads. It tasted and looked so beautiful. The potato salad was possibly the best potato salad I’ve ever had!! Our guests loved the food and wanted the recipes from Craig. His friendliness and professionalism made our wedding so enjoyable and we did not have any stress regarding the catering running up to the wedding. When you book such a well reviewed chef you expect fantastic food, but the service sets him apart. Craig cooked for a party of seven and his food was thoroughly spectacular start to finish! He was meticulous, accommodating and served spectacular fare which everybody enjoyed! We hired Craig to come and deliver a menu as a very special treat for my birthday based on some Cornish classics. Straight away communication was great; Craig was in touch to find out more about what it was we were after, what kind of set up we had, etc. We’re not exactly experienced at having private chefs come to cook for us, so this was very reassuring from the start. As to the practical side of things, on the day Craig turned up on time, brought everything required (including plates!) and cleaned up perfectly. And as to the food…. … I don’t really know what to say. We like going out to ‘fancy’ restaurants, but with a dog in tow this isn’t really possible when staying in a holiday cottage. Craig’s food was quite simply fantastic. Each course, from the bread and (smoked garlic!) butter to the stunning dessert, was among the best plates of food we’ve ever had. Added to this, he was very easy to get on with and our dog loved him (and vice versa I think) so we will definitely be booking Craig again when we’re back in the west country. Kevin More...
