About

I value the influences of the humanistic and person centred approaches, which means that I believe every person has the potential to unlock their own resources and find inner strength and the solutions to their own concerns. We just sometimes need help finding the right key.

I decided to write a review for my wonderful counsellor, Sarah. Despite our new found openness with discussing mental health in society of late, I believe there still seems to be a taboo around seeking out professional support. I was initially very private about my therapy and now I realise that investing in my mental health shouldn’t be seen as any different from signing up for a gym membership. I spent a long time researching potential counsellors after struggling with a very difficult period in my life, one I now feel confident in admitting had left me with debilitating anxiety and what I felt at the time, was the start of a downward spiral into depression. I chose Sarah after reading about her plethora skills and suitable specialities that seemed to fit me perfectly. A simple text and I’d arranged my first appointment. Sarah became my weekly support, she was exactly what I needed, the perfect balance of comforting and logical, providing me with a safe place to discuss things I’m not sure I’ve ever said out loud previously. Sarah, I’d like to publicly thank you for your insight, advise and at times the calming silence you provided me with over the last few months. I think it’s important to say that whilst we might be ‘functioning’ without the support of counsellors, I speak for myself when I say I certainly wasn’t ‘living’. Sarah built me up with skills and techniques that have allowed me some time away from therapy, but knowing that you’re a simple text away reassures me that when life throws curveballs, I no longer have to wait until I’m ‘not coping’ to seek support for my mental health. Thank you, I’m so grateful x More...

I came to Sarah not really knowing what to expect, having had a bad experience with counselling in the past. All I knew was that I needed help. I found Sarah on the CPCAB directory and read her profile, then plucking up the courage I called her. It was one of the best decisions I have made. Sarah provided me a safe place to work through my issues. With her professional but approachable manner and her wonderful calming aura, she has enabled me to be free to finally move forward in my life without the past constantly pulling me back. I’m so very happy to have found Sarah and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her counselling services. More...

Q&As

The uniqueness of every single person, the honour and privilege of being allowed to hear their stories, and the joy in seeing people work out how the rest of their story will unfold.

I wanted to be able to offer therapy at reasonable prices, in comfortable surroundings, and not be tied to time constraints imposed by the limitations of agency work.

I am passionate about my work and fully committed to providing a safe space for people to explore their personal issues and worries. I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is at the heart of the counselling process; and I can offer an environment where you can explore these concerns in a relaxed, non-judgmental, safe environment.
