After booking our stay in the bunkhouse for March and having to re-book due to covid, we were finally able to make our trip and stay for 3 nights. Was defiantly worth the wait! The whole experience from start to finish was warm, welcoming with amazing views. Couldn't be more perfect! Julie and Kate are so nice and make you feel very comfortable and at ease, they have 3 rescue dogs who were just as friendly and greeted us every morning :) My two son's and my self could help but fall in love with them More...

We came here with our collie dog and stayed 2 nights in the Shepherd's Hut. We all loved it despite the rain! It's just remote enough, and very private, and peaceful. The hut has everything you need for a getaway, candles, log burner, and we loved the breakfast basket. Great attention to detail. There is no shower in the hut, but there is a toilet and showers are only a short 2 fields walk away in the B&B. The hosts couldn't have done more to make us comfortable and welcome, even supplying wellies (which are a good thing to remember to pack), and calling a farmer to help us when we got stuck in the mud. Dogs are also very welcome here! Highly recommend for those with a spirit of adventure seeking something unique, memorable and secluded. More...

My husband and I, our two teenage sons and our cockapoo pup had the most amazing weekend stay in the B&B. Julie and Kate were so lovely. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, and generosity. They even organised the weather too! We stayed over night as we wanted to explore the waterfalls located next to the farm (Pont Melin-fach) and for mountain hikes at (Pont Ar Daf). The cottage was a perfect location too, it was clean, well equipped and full of everything to occupy! We explored the shepherds hut, bunkhouse and function building set in the fields. There were fire pits and tree swings, footballs to kick about, and a brick hut Julie handmade equipped with wine shelves, candles and a stove. Who wouldn’t want want to visit this idyllic gem of a place. Truly stunning! We can’t recommend this place enough. Awesome. Will definitely return!! More...

We celebrated our wedding at this venue and were very happy with this beautiful site. Julie and Kate were so incredibly welcoming, relaxed and helpful and Kate cooked some absolutely delicious group suppers and breakfasts which are excellent value. There are lots of brilliant practical features which make group gatherings fun and easy here, including a well equipped kitchen in the bunkhouse, great campfire area and a large poly-tunnel where you can eat/party if the weather is wet. The views from the property are fantastic and the stars are incredible on a clear night. There are also some stunning walks to the waterfalls right on your doorstep and lots of great activities for the more adventurous types. Would highly recommend this place for either a large group gathering or a small family holiday - the B+B is lovely and comfortable and the shepherd's hut is very cosy and romantic. A very memorable spot! More...

Stayed in the bunkhouse here for a weekend with an outdoor group whilst walking in the Brecon national park. Lovely location, close to several of the waterfalls. The facilities were ok. Mattresses not particularly comfortable and it was impossible to regulate the shower temperature. The dorms were very dusty and needed a good sweep through. Having said that I did love staying here. The owners were very friendly. There is a BnB option or the shepherds hut which I heard was lovely. It is pretty difficult to find this place in the dark. A local told me 5 residences have the same postcode. I ended up at a farm about half a mile away and with no signal/Internet it was not easy to work out where I needed to be! We recently had our wedding reception at Clyngwyn and I can't speak highly enough of our experience. It was such a lovely atmosphere having all our guests staying for the weekend, either in the bunkhouse, b&b or camping in tents or camper vans. The facilities are great, with a very well setup kitchen in the bunkhouse which we were able to use for breakfasts and then the caterers could use for the wedding buffet.||||The polytunnel where we had the reception was great as we had free reign to decorate as we wished and there were plenty of chairs and tables so we did not need to hire any. ||||The grounds are also fantastic so we spent the day before playing games on the field while the weather was good.||||Both Julie and Kate were amazing and friendly hosts, helping with anything we needed over the weekend.||||It really is a great place to be and would suit a variety of bookings. As well as larger functions like ours, it is also ideal for groups to stay in the bunkhouse for a weekend enjoying the local area and the shepherd's hut where we slept was really nice and cosy so would make a great setting for anyone looking for some privacy in picturesque surroundings. Stayed in the B&B with my friends and their three kids and two dogs. It's not easy finding accommodation for the six of us but this venue was absolutely perfect. We were instantly all made so welcome, the dogs and kids were given complete freedom to play in the great safe and enclosed fields and climb in the tree house and rope swing. We had our own open fire area and the B&B was more like our own house with a fab breakfast served in our private dining area. The waterfall route is accessed from the front door and well signed with maps provided if you need them. Just wish I had found this gem sooner as would have liked to stay longer. Julie was really welcoming and the hut was exactly what I'd imagined. Rustic and cosy! We loved the basket of local goodies we received on arrival and the privacy we had in our own little paddock. The waterfalls are really close and the next village is beautiful. The pub is a must, we walked there and were delighted when local barmaid Charlotte offered us a lift back to the Bunkhouse. A group of 21 of us just got home from an absolutely magical new years at Clyngwyn Bunkhouse. We had had trouble finding somewhere that could accommodate our group size but the combination of the bunkhouse and the BnB worked absolutely perfectly - the BnB provided a quieter sleeping option, and allowed flexibly in the group size, accommodating any late comers and an option for those who didn't want to stay for the full 5 days. The magnificent polly tunnel was really the cherry on the top - already decorated beautifully and housing a few pieces of Julie's own art work, it provided a fantastic space for us all to dine and dance on new years eve - as it was december it was a little chilly, but we managed with a few scarves and jumpers, and I can only imagine how brilliant it would be during the summer months. Julie was fantastic, welcoming, flexible and very relaxed. I genuinely don't think we would have had such a great new years without having her as a host. She also provided very detailed walking routes incorporating nearby waterfalls, caves and local pubs. We only managed to do 2 walks while we were there, which were both great little outings but would have loved to have stayed longer and really taken advantage of the rich surroundings. An absolute gem for large family and friend groups, and with Julie's attentiveness and flexibility, the option to really make the stay your own. More...
