We provide outside catering for weddings, private parties, funnerals, hog roasts and private chef for hire. We can also offer private catering at our restaurant at Riverside Bideford Restaurant for groups of up to 20 for private dining. We specialise in afternoon teas with the bone china and delicious modern english 3 course meals.

Couldn’t ask for better wedding caterers! Donna, Simon and their team are quire simply faultless caterers. Donna made the whole process so fun and easy. Her relationships with other suppliers and understanding of the industry make her so valuable to have behind you. Donna sorted out so many details that boggled my mind! We had a gorgeous lunch for the all day guests, a hog and lamb roast in the evening for the evening guests and a high tea the following day. Chef duet put on arrival drinks, canapés and drinks for lunch. On arriving in our surprise transport we greeted at the venue with lovely drinks and stunning canapés. All of them were so tasty, we were blown away! The lunch our day guests and we enjoyed was high-end restaurant quality and consistently brilliant. Many of my guests have told me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had and I can testify that the beef wellington was the best I’ve ever eaten! The team was professional, friendly and efficient and can’t be faulted. The hog and lamb roast was perfect for our evening guests - the pork and lamb were meltingly tender. The following day, Donna put on a gorgeous tea and cake lunch. This was a lovely way to round off the wedding celebrations. On 26th July Chef Duet catered for Clare and Matt's wedding. We had an amazing vintage high tea and an equally amazing hot food buffet in the evening. From the initial arranging and tasting sessions we were given special attention, help ;and guidance. On the day all went wonderfully and everyone looking after us was very helpful and friendly. The food was sensational with lovely flavours and great attention to detail. All our guests loved it all and we are so grateful to Donna and Simon for all their professionalism and skill. What’s your signature dish?
We have 2 Chicken ballotine with shallots, prunes and sausage meat but I love the pork belly too.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Talking to my clients about what they like to eat, or finding out more about the event.
What do you love most about your job?
all of it from creating the dishes to the actual event - even though the events can be stressful at times.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have loved cooking and baking since I was a young girl and now 46 years old my passion has only grown deeper. My husband and I moved from London to Bideford in 2008 to open a B&B, which has been established and operating successfully it’s a beautiful location directly beside the river Torridge in Bideford. It offers a beautiful and serine location for a restaurant and in 2017 we set about opening a restaurant to our B&B guests and doing some outside catering at a nearby wedding venue just during the off-peak season when the B&B was quiet. I soon realised I wanted more of this cooking and baking so spent 3 years training at the local college to achieve professional cookery qualification and launched this outside catering business Chef Duet. We provide private chef evenings for private parties at holiday homes and small hotels. Now I operate a restaurant in our B&B dining room called Riverside Bideford and this outside catering business, duetting with other chef friends like Joe Draper ex-chef from River Cottage HQ to name but a few. I feel extremely lucky to be doing the job I love with my friends and look forward to working with you for your next special celebration.

Wedding Afternoon Tea
As the first meal as Mr & Mrs why not opt for a traditional or West Country afternoon tea for you and your guests. Let them eat cake and little finger sandwiches with the crosses cut off, little pasties, little quiches, lots of little things. All served in beautiful bone china and served with plenty of teas and coffee.
