Casa Studios designed and submitted planning for the renovation and extension of our old cottage with a contemporary cedar clad extension married to an old stone cottage. The layout, topography of the ground and access were challenging but Christian asked us really important questions about how we wanted to live in our space before coming up with the designs that work perfectly for us. It was a pleasure to work with Casa Studios and Christian and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Christian designed a 2 bed house for me in St Ives .He made numerous visits to the site and was on hand every step of the way .
I was very impressed with his local knowledge ,also he had Excelent knowledge of what planning would find acceptable in terms of parking ,recreational space ,access etc .The finished design was simple with a contemporary finish .I am delighted to say that the planning department approved it on first application and I am delighted.Christian was helpful and professional throughout and I have no hesitation in highly recommending him. Christian was recommended to us, by a friend of ours, for our project to raise the ridge of the roof of our bungalow plus a ground floor extension. From the start Christian has been a pleasure to work with. We had never undertaken anything on this sort of scale before and Christian guided us through the whole process from initial meeting to planning permission and beyond. He understood immediately what we were trying to achieve and came up with suggestions for layout that we had not even considered but made such a positive impact on the design. We commissioned Christian to draw up plans for an extension to our 2 bedroom bungalow.
Christian was thorough and listened to our ideas and thoughts and was able to visualise and interpret whilst bringing his vision and ideas to enable the plan to work. His ideas and suggestions bought out possibilities and solutions which we hadn't considered and would have never have thought about.
The result was a remodelling which resulted in 2 double bedrooms with the addition of a second bathroom (en suite) an office /.study area plus a vaulted extension, resulting in a new living/dining area.
The vaulted extension included 2 velux windows, 2 sets of French doors and long lancet style windows to the end elevation. In addition a new patio was created and the side area, formerly on different levels, brought together by becoming a fully decked area.
Christian was friendly and courteous and listened to and discussed our ideas carefully.
He was able to deal effectively with Planning, Building Control and Utilities and Structural Engineer requirements.
Further to this, he was able to recommend building companies, one of which was commissioned to complete the work efficiently and quickly to our satisfaction
The resulting living / dining space is a contemporary modern style flooded with light which makes a strong visual impact on visitors to the property. More...

Getting plans and ideas for adjustments to your home is actually quite an emotive matter as so much of your own identity is linked in with the issue. Christian is a very personable architect and my wife and I instantly connected with him and knew he was the right chap for the job. He was reliable and basically fulfilled every deadline he promised. He came up with some innovative ideas and understood exactly where we were coming from. He was also strong enough a character to point out, sensitively, where our ideas might not look or work out so well in practice and came up with alternative solutions that frankly we were very grateful for.
Our bungalow was an old mining office that had been adjusted in a piecemeal way over the last 50 years or so. It looked a mess. It was taken back to a shell and now that it is finished it looks like one purposeful building with all the features that we wanted. We cannot recommend Christians work highly enough. More...

We have used CASA for all our major changes. We started with a detailed drawing of our ancient house to see what we truly had. Architectural Services.
We've recently returned to Christian at CASA Studio for our 6th project which gained approval under delegated powers with none of the usual kerfuffle.
It is reassuring to have a RIBA member to advise us throughout various aspects of the design and planning process, explain the stages and provide a professional and balanced opinion when the occasional snags arise.
