Truly, the gem of Barking. Nestled away from the hub and bub of downtown (?) barking, this spot hits the spot. I think we tried everything. The beer (excelente), the piri piri chicken (fablehaft), the mint lamb (super), the tilapia (que rico), and the panini. I have lived in the area all my life and this by far one of the best places to appear in the past 30 years, tucked away from the busy town centre it is such a welcome sanctuary. A place where you can relax by the River Roding whilst enjoying a decent drink wether its alcoholic or just a cuppa.The bar food is more than substantial, fresh and generous portions.Pease dont be like one person who wrote a a review expecting table service...its a cafe/bar not a restaurant ! What a surprise. Tucked back off the main road behind offices and houses, this lovely little bar was welcoming and fun. We enjoyed a great lunchtime drink by the river and were lucky enough to be there as a Bar-b-que was being set up. As a result, a surprise Caribbean lunch was enjoyed too. Thank you. Been here a few times and it is definitely one of Barkings hidden gems! The staff are so welcoming and give the best service to their customers from the second you enter, to the moment you leave.
