We reserved a table which was a necessary. It's a popular place. We had a selection of starters from the buffet, a carvery with a good selection of vegetables & then had a choice of sweets, again from the buffet. The food is well prepared & well presented & there were plenty of staff on hand who were both pleasant & attentive. Where we were in the restaurant that didn't have a view although there are excellent views from the cafe area where you can appreciate the hotel's elevated position. My visit was for two days and one night as part of a business conference. I would like to say special thanks to the chef and his staff for making me feel like a VIP with two lunches, an evening meal, biscuits and cakes all prepared as vegan. It was amazing! My colleagues consistently commented on how lovely it all looked and the generous portions too. It was so refreshing to have such a positive experience - thanks again. To all the other staff I encountered: they were all delightful; polite, professional and courteous. The hotel was decorated for Christmas with a warm welcoming atmosphere. Having read some of the negative reports about this hotel, we were a little cautious about booking it for a family Sunday lunch in the carvery. There was no need to worry. The food and service was excellent. There were four options for meats, all of the potatoes and vegetables you could wish for together with excellent starters and desserts. Very enjoyable stay in an Executive Room. We were visiting family in Swindon and the Blunsdon House Hotel is an ideal place to stay. Nice large room with walk-in shower and separate bath. A very comfy bed to ensure a good nights sleep. The buffet style breakfasts were a treat as usual. We stayed 2 nights for a friends wedding, the Executive rooms and their bathrooms are huge. We had a huge bed and there is a bath and separate shower in the bathroom. Other members of our family had family rooms and there was plenty of room with a bunk bed in a one and a single bed and cot in the other one. The only downside was our room overlooked the car back at the building and not the Chilterns.||The rooms were very clean. The hairdryer is very old fashioned one in the bathroom which was fixed to the wall but it did. There is a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, tea pot and plenty of coffee and tea. We recently stayed at the this hotel with 2 children and used it as a base whilst visiting the Cotswold water park.||The rooms were spacious with plenty of amenities (hair dryer, tea, coffee, biscuits, TV, safe, etc). The staff throughout the hotel (reception, bars and restaurant) were really attentive and the service they provided was excellent.||The pool and fitness facilities were really good and ideal for the kids to have a quick swim in the morning (after 8am) and evening (before 7pm).||Breakfast has a good selection of fruit and pastries along with the usual cooked breakfast offerings. The bar and restaurant share the same menu with a good selection of meals for adults and kids at a reasonable price.||It's located approx 10 mins drive away from the water park so was ideal for a relaxed start to the day with a short drive there and back.||The grounds and bar area also had enough activities to keep the kids entertained and the views out across Cotswold's were stunning.||A hotel with modern facilities along with a traditional customer service offering.||Will be looking to return soon. Blunsdon house hotel did us proud for the 90th birthday celebration for my mum in law. From the great organising from Jane, the efficient and friendly reception staff to the waiting staff especially Lewis who made the occasion with his superb sense of humour. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed the beautiful setting of the hotel grounds. I have visited previously and couldn't help but return with a buddy. the location is perfect with an amazing view over the countryside. With plenty of places to visit within a 30 minute drive, this really is a great place to base yourself for a relaxing weekend away (with or without family!).||||As always, the staff are class A, every one of them goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay. The food and drink is top notch, I enjoyed a delicious steak and shared a recommended bottle of red with my mate which went down a real treat.||||The room was great, very clean and tidy and with very nice amenities.||||I used the gym, and wow, for a hotel gym? this is something special, it's recently had a make over and I can honestly say that it is far better than even the most up market independent or chain gyms around. All the equipment is well kept or brand new. I passed nearly 2 hours without thinking I wanted to get out! but with the bar just upstairs, I did lend myself to the bar shortly afterwards for a refreshing pint :D||||I can't thank the hotel and staff enough for making every visit special and enjoyable.||||I will definitely be returning for many years to come. I stayed here for a weekend. The grounds look amazing driving in. Lots of manicured flower beds. Very professional booking in. Room was really nice. Especially liked the filter coffee machine but you only got one packet. Hairdryer in the bathroom looks like it's from the 60's but I'm bald so it didn't matter. Nitpicking the freeview needed updating as I only got afew channels to watch. Film4 had no signal . WiFi was good and free. Had breakfast in bed which was really good. We stayed at this hotel recently with 3 children to break a journey. We chose this hotel over others purely because of the swimming pool so we were rather disappointed on arrival to see a notice stating that the pool would be closed until midday the next day. There was no apology and when we enquired we weren't given the option to stay on and use the pool after our checkout.||After a disappointing start, we were pleasantly surprised with the rest of the hotel. The facilities for children are really very good. There is lots of space to run around outside, a well equipped playground and a games room with table football next to the bar. ||Our family room was extremely spacious with plenty of room for 5 of us (big double bed, bunk beds and a cot). It is unusual to find hotels that accommodate larger families so this was really great to find. ||Although the decor in the room and corridor was dated with some unusual features (such as the retro coffee machine), everything was clean and in good condition. The children were pleasantly surprised to find a Jacuzzi button on the bath which made up for the lack of swimming.||Breakfast was good with a large selection of food and nobody went hungry!!||We never would have chosen this hotel if we had known the pool was going to be closed but we had a really enjoyable time and would definitely return.
