Stayed here 1 night with a friend over the weekend. We chose this hotel due to its traditional look and style. The reception lady was very helpful, friendly and informative! we stayed in the Queen Anne room, which felt a million miles away from the reception area. 2 flgiths of stairs and some long corridors later, we arrived. Room is extremely dated, but we expected that. The grounds are just stunning. The gardens and everything surrounding is so idyllic i would stay just to view them again. if ever in Nottingham, i would happily stay here again. More...

We had a very pleasant stay and the staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly with special mention to ROB .Nothing was too much trouble for him as he answered all our questions regarding the history of the building. We stayed here on Friday and Saturday nights for my daughters wedding day which was held in the magnificent ballroom, what can I say apart from wow! !! Absolutely stunning venue, and the team are just amazing my girl had the wedding of fairytales. Her day was absolutely perfect and the whole team could not do enough to make sure everything was perfect for us all. ||The rooms are full of character and retains so much of the personality of this majestic building, they were beautifully clean with everything we needed and more, the bed was soooo comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The ballroom that the wedding was hosted in is absolutely stunning with the most magnificent chandeliers I have ever seen, the chapel we held the ceremony in is absolutely beautiful so full of character and original features it was just stunning! ||The breakfast in the mornings was surprisingly good quality from s buffet breakfast lovely thick bacon and eggs cooked fresh to order, and as for the wedding breakfast omg divine doesn’t come close to doing it justice especially the Baileys white chocolate cheesecake.||If you are thinking of staying here then I have only 1 thing to say just do it! What a lovely place to stay! Looks amazing from the grounds, quiet, peaceful and nice walks around the lodge. The restaurant food was basic but enjoyable, the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size with a lovely clean bathroom.||There is a cosy bar where you can get a drink and a snack. Just one thing to be wary of. If you have difficulty with steps a lot of luggage, or kids, make sure you request a room on the lowest floor. The stairs are a bit daunting, but I loved the tranquility of this place. More...

We arrived late at this hotel. The check in was very quick. We were offered help with our bags as there is no lift but we were OK. Although kitchen was just closing, they kept it open so we could order food from the bar. The food we ordered was fantastic. Also the bar has a great selection of drinks.||Breakfast had the usual. Would cook eggs to however you liked. It's a buffet. Nice as you can get up as many times as you like. ||Lovely grounds to take a walk in. ||The staff were always friendly especially towards my 3 year old. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The shower did take a long time to get hot. 10 minutes and still wasn't very hot. ||We will definitly stay here again when in Nottingham. More...

This is a remarkable place in a great location on the edge of Bestwood Country Park but is definitely in need of a bit of TLC. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.||The whole place is just overflowing with period features and decor and with a bit of investment could be something really special. For example, the 70's style coloured bathroom suite in the room we stayed in could be replaced with a modern but Victorian styled one and the bedroom ceiling would benefit from a quick skim of plaster.||The windows are single glazed (can't remember the last time I saw a single glazed window), maybe because it's a listed building, but some of the widow frames are in need of replacing too.||This is an incredible building with a long and fascinating history and a superb example of Victorian Gothic architecture. It's run by staff who have a pride in what they do, just needs a bit of money spending on it (are you listening Best Western?).||Breakfast was pretty good too, wide choice of food on offer.||There is no lift to the upper floor, however there is a stair lift for disabled use. El sitio es precioso y muy tranquilo tiene unos jardines preciosos por donde pasear y desconectar de todo , nos atendieron muy bien y cada vez que necesitábamos un taxi ellos se preocupaban de llamar. Really characterfull place the food is good and the staff are friendly. Some of the rooms could do with a lift and you have to run the shower for about 4mins to get it hot but it does tell you that.
