Yes. Very relaxing. Pool was a bit cold.
A lovely place to spend Christmas and be spoilt.
Very impressive building with helpful staff. But bear in mind no lift to upper floors. And found access to pool and facilities restricted because of our children.
From the moment I booked I was dealt with by two gentlemen; Dave & Bob. They worked at the front desk, they were such wonderful hosts! Information was provided, conversation was had, and they gave such warm greeting on arrival - nothing was too much trouble for them.||||The room they had specially chosen for us, was delightful. A two floored room with a bendy staircase leading to the bedroom overlooking the manor grounds and lake. Two made up swan towels on the bed, and a bottle of wine beside. ||||We had food at from bar menu situated in the main lounge, we were served by lovely staff. I had the local game burger and my partner the chicken ciabatta - both were delicious! But I did have to remove the bacon from my burger as it was so overdone it was solid, my partner chips had been once cooked already resulting in them being very hard and inedible. On the other hand, my portion of chips was enough for the both of us.||||Thanks for a great stay. More...
Nice hotel staff very friendly but the food menu was poor and very over priced £8.00 for a bowl of soup is ridiculous
Had a lovely weekend. A Peaceful location. A good choice at breakfast; flexible evening menu, but could do with a little more choice. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms nice (I would have liked brighter lighting). We Needed a new light bulb it was replaced inside half an hour. Would definitely come again More...
Glad I booked his hotel before reading negative reviews so I wasn’t put off. ||Beautifully decorated for Christmas and all staff in the Christmas spirit. Rooms clean and comfortable. Amazing Christmas Party last night, loved the decorations in the room, food hit the spot and DJ was great. Really got our a Christmas started. Will definitely be back next year.

We stayed here for a spa package which included one night at the hotel. The main building is beautiful so is the garden area around it. Our room was clean and tidy but very average, nothing special. The view from our room was not pleasant, we were staring at the bins. Unfortunately the Friday night we stayed there, there was also a wedding reception which sort of ruined our relaxing spa stay. We were hoping to have an early night but unfortunately due to the noise this wasn't easy. Luckily we had some ear plugs with us! Our room was on the same level with the wedding reception and even though there were heavy fire doors that kept the noise to an acceptable level but unfortunately the wedding guests kept opening these doors and walking down our corridor part our room to get to a fire exit to smoke cigarettes. Some of them also used our corridor as a socialising place I guess to have a "quiet chat". Well it was nice to learn all these things about their lives lol. If it hadn't been this house factor I would have rated this hotel as 5 stars but unfortunately it lost a star because of this. ||But I have to make a special mention about the restaurant. The food over there was absolutely gorgeous! We had the set meal included in our package deal which was 3 course meal and it was amazing, the presentation of the meal, the taste, the amount was all perfect. The waiting times for each course of the meal also was just right and the restaurant service was excellent. Our waitor (who I found out later was restaurant duty manager George P.) was such a polite nice young man. He really went an extra mile to look after us :). I have a mild but allergy and he made sure there was no nuts in anything that went on my plate and he was very thorough to inform me if any of my meal was prepared in the vicinity of nuts. Luckily my allergy is not that severe but I found him very professional regarding this. ||||Also lastly if like to mention another polite young man who was at the reception on 22/11 and 23/11 who was also very polite and helpful. The staff made us feel very welcome there :) More...
Six of us met here to surprise and celebrate a family birthday. From the minute we arrived we were treated exceptionally well- we explained it was a surprise at reception and the really lovely lady said she would keep up the pretence. She and Dave -a delightful young manager-explained about there being several Xmas events on over the weekend and notices were put up at reception to warn us about the noise and possible inconvenience. Considering the number of parties, gatherings etc the hotel coped incredibly well and we were not inconvenienced at all. We were on a dinner, B&B offer and the waiter explained clearly what the offer included and what our allowance against the a la carte menu was. Not all hotels bother to do this and you are left in the slightly embarrassing situation of not knowing what you can order. We must have met 6/7 waiters and waitresses and all were charming even in a very busy breakfast on Sunday when. a second dining room was opened to cope with the numbers. Food was excellent and served very hot. Our rooms were in what I imagine is a recently refurbished area-all new carpets and beautiful bathrooms. All spotlessly clean. I asked at reception about walks in the grounds and was given a map and information sheet to follow. The whole experience gave the feeling of an efficiently run hotel with a team working well together in what could be stressful situations. We will be back-our offer was booked through Telegraph travel and was extremely good value for money. Many thanks to all staff More...
Good old fashioned hotel. Very comfortable
We were 3 couples who booked a Saturday night dinner/bed & breakfast package. We were a bit worried with the recent reviews, but we all had a great stay. ||||Our rooms were good, clean and well decorated - tv, hairdryer, iron, kettle, USB power points, comfortable bed, alarm clock, good shower. We had room 223, which was a little bit bigger than the other two rooms and had two windows. It was at the end of a corridor, so was quiet too.||||Dinner was excellent. No wait to be seated at 7.15pm. Food and drinks orders were taken quickly and arrived soon after. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful. The package allowed us a main meal and either a starter or a dessert. You could add a third course if you paid for it. We had a mixture of soup, salmon and bread/olive starters. For mains we had a selection of chicken, fish (hake) and chicken satay curry. And for desserts, two chose the brownie and fruit sundae. The food was delivered quickly, was hot and tasted great. ||||Sunday breakfast at 9.15am involved a short wait of about 10 minutes to be seated, but was worth the wait. Very good. ||||We checked out quickly, with no queue. The whole experience was very good overall and was excellent value for money. We didn't use the pool as time was limited and it was a pity that rain restricted our use of the grounds, which look very nice. More...
What a fabulous hotel. Rooms large and spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable. Ample tea and coffee with extras available at reception. Food both evening meal and breakfast were good served timely and hot. But what really stands out are the staff. Friendly and helpful...all work exceptionally hard. Very impressed with everything. Public rooms all good and whole hotel lovely and warm. Grounds beautiful. Totally recommend. I work in a four star hotel myself so am quite objective! More...
My husband and I stayed overnight on 14th November as a nice start to our cruise . We stayed for the dinner, bed and breakfast in an executive room. We have stayed a few times before and it really is a relaxing start to our holiday . The hotel itself had beautiful grounds and especially in the Autumn the colour changes of the leaves on all the different trwws are just stunning. Reception staff very welcoming with friendly smiles . Check in was quick and efficency . We were asked what time we would like dinner that evening . The bar is very nice and relaxed with a cosy feel about it. Lovely when the fire is on. Bar staff were efficency and drinks were served in a timely manner. Yes there was a few people waiting but not for long at all. Dinner that evening was the same as always tasty , served hot and beautifully presented . The chocolate orange brownie is my all time favourite pudding . Drinks were offered within 10 minutes of being seated . The restaurant appeared well organised . |The room was clean , nicely decorated with very comfortable beds . We both slept well . Breakfast was buffet style but you could order other items on the menu such as kippers , salmon with scrambled egg etc. We had the full English Breakfast which was delicious with quality sausages and bacon. No issues with staff . I did witness a guest being extremely rude to the waitress though which was really awful . However the waitress dealt with it perfectly in a polite and helpful way despite how rude the guest had been . All staff seemed friendly and helpful .|We also used the spa and had an hours massage each which really was great . I do recommend a visit to the spa for a massage . |I look forward to our next visit in February. More...
Had a really lovely spa day here. The venue was quiet with a lovely pool and spa and good facilities; it's tucked out the way which made it easy to switch off! Towel and a huge fluffy robe were provided; worth remembering slippers or pool shoes though. Lunch was a bento box which was nice enough but nothing special. The treatments (facial and massage) were excellent, however I would have appreciated it if the therapist had spent a couple of minutes speaking with me first... I climbed on the couch and the treatment started with barely a word. Overall a wonderful treat and excellent value for money, I'll certainly be back in the future. More...
Staff are amazing and very helpful. Def recommend
great atmosphere in stunning grounds staff very polite
A nice regency style hotel with comfortable rooms and a small spa. The food in the restaurant was good with relaxed service.
Amazing looking lobby bar area, looks especially stunning when done out for Christmas, log fire in winter, service sometimes slow, drinks reasonably priced for hotel bar. Food pricey and not always up to standard. Rooms are lovely. Great patio area for summer drinks. Also have use of the pool etc. Nice location for a chill out or for getting aboard cruise ship. Nice place for an overnight stay. Room fairly basic but clean. Changing rooms for the pool and gym are awful and tiny for the amount of people!
This hotel is just lovely, food, staff , room, and general areas are spotless, so relaxing by their open fire in the ballroom , comfortable chairs, great bar service for drinks and snacks , quiet at night , beds cosy and warm , a wonderful view from our window, gardens are well kept and car park is close to the front door, recommended 100%

Amazing and peaceful
Lovely stay before our cruise fifteen minutes to the cruise terminal breakfast was good plenty of choice there evening meal was superb
I'm a regular here and the staff are great. Some of the rooms do need modernisation.
Great location between Southampton and the New Forest. Easy access to motorway. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Have stayed here many times and always found the service a little hit and miss but complaints are always swiftly rectified. Quality of food very good.
Great staying at Chilworth Manor for us.||Although the weather was not great we didn’t need nothing else.||Perfect location situated in a amazing park, clean and comfortable rooms, great hall were to have a drink and spend the evening in front of the fireplace and Spa , all included in the price . ||I was very please to see that they have vegan choices for breakfast and dinner, and not far from Southampton and Winchester, ||I’ll be back! Lovely hotel stay with the added benefit of a gym. The food was also very good. This was my first stay with this chain and would definitely stay here again.
A beautiful period house set in lovely grounds, good breakfast and comfy accommodation.if i had to be picky, the breakfast room was very warm and very busy. Parking was also very busy and although extra parking was available, it was quite a walk from reception for my elderly mother and as it is a one way system, then once you realise you cant park in the front car park, then you have no choice but to use the car parks further away. I have just returned from a lovely 3 night break at Chilworth Manor and can certainly recommend it! The staff are proactive and friendly - some going the extra mile to please! The restaurant needs someone to 'manage', but this could be easily sorted! The food was very tasty, although portion sizes a little over-whelming! The room was of good size and had all that was needed - maybe a notice about recycling towels, but that is only a suggestion for those that would wish to support the environmental knock on! All in all, a lovely stay - I will definitely return & can highly recommend to others as there are so many things, close by and easily accessed whether shopping or walking, sight seeing etc. More...

Stayed for 2 nights and this is a 1st class hotel and excellent customer service, a gorgeous setting and gorgeous welcoming building that was spotlessly clean. ||||My only niggle was that the vegetarian options on the menu were very limited and that the pool and spa were a short walk away from the hotel, but as I said its only a niggle.||||Apart from that it's pretty perfect and I would definitely return More...
Just returned from a few days staying at Chilworth Manor, and I disagree with some of the comments regarding the staff and dining experience. |From when we arrived to when we checked out, we found the staff to be attentive, friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was busy, but there was always enough staff to cover the tables without any problem, and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The food was good, freshly cooked and very generous portions.|The only issue I had was, a major part of the reason for booking this hotel was because it has spa facilities, however they only had 2 available appointments for a massage during our 3 day stay, and although I booked an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early, my husband was going to use the pool while I was in the treatment room, however there was a water aerobics class, so the pool was out of use for general swimming. After waiting in the reception area for approx 10 minutes I was then told the therapist had just emailed to say she was not going to be in work that day. This was very disappointing to say the least especially considering the very limited available appointments that were offered, I think it would be a good idea if there was a sign to say when the pool cannot be used due to exercise classes etc, and also if there could be more appointment times available as although the selection of treatments is very good, it is impossible to book in for any of them!||| More...

We were offered an excellent deal, the venue was easy to reach, impressive from the beginning. Staff were very friendly, rooms were good (do not have rm 1 if you have any mobility issues), food was good, the area offered a lot and there was a spa (not actually in the hotel) but we didn't use it. Had a fantastic spa visit, superb massage and facial from Mandy. This hotel is in a lovely location well placed for the New Forest, Southampton and Portsmouth. Hotel building is full of character and the rooms are big and well equipped. Great sevice and attention to detail I think.||||On arrival the two ladies at reception were very helpful and welcomming. While the room was not yet ready due to early arrival they kindly explained about hotel, facities and what we may want to do while waiting for room. All in all a very good start.||||Had lunch in bar from bar menue and then went back to reception to gind the room was ready. Room was a stanard room which was very pleasent. A big double bed and bathroom with bath and shower over the bath.||||We explored the hotel gounds with the help and advise of staff and had a nice walk in gardens prior to going over to the pool and leisure club. Used the pol and sauna and stem rooms which were all nice and presented as we would all like.||||On retiring to room for the night we had a great sleep and not disturbed at all by any other hotel guests.||||For dinner we were seated straight away and given menues to choose meal from. The dining experience was good, though we think the person seating us was not the 'main restaurant' person as when he did sit persons at the next table he told them about the nightly specials which we never got told about.||||Breakfast next morning was a buffet facility and was adiuate for what it was. Though on both mornings we were aware that if you arrive at 'prime time' the reastaurant cant cope with demand and you may find you will need to wait a bit of time to get a table.||||Would we return. Hard to fault. Nice gym, pool, clean, tidy, nice grounds. Ideal for Southampton.
Ourselves and four other couples have had a get-together for a weekend every year in October for about the last eight years, usually somewhere along the South Coast. I think Chilworth Manor is probably the best yet. We got a great all-inclusive deal and, although it was very reasonable, the service/food/rooms/setting were first class. In fact, in the spirit of balance, I'm really struggling to find anything to criticise. Just, perhaps, the music from an event on Saturday night was rather loud and went on to about 1am. More...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic wedding venue, amazing staff! Great day had by all!
After a awful experience in another hotel we rang to see if any rooms were free . The receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful, she arranged rooms, printed off a walking route for me around the golf course , which meant i could get my normal morning exercise routine in, showed me the gym which is small but very well equipt with everything you could need , including weights . She was warm welcoming friendly. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you it doesn’t sound like enough but when you have to work away from home a good hotel means a lot. Stayed here at Easter with my husband on a Groupon 2 night DBB deal. The hotel was very nice, a little 'worn' in places but our room and the public areas were spotlessly clean. The room had everything we needed in it and the bed was comfy. Lovely log fire in the bar gave a very cosy feeling. Breakfast was good with everything replenished as needed. The pool and gym areas were clean and it was nice that at the time of our visit, no children were allowed in the pool which made our break even more relaxing. Dinner in the restaurant was not 5 star a la carte, but then we wasn't expecting it to be - however what we had was nice. Service in the hotel was good as was the wifi. Plenty of parking too. The hotel's grounds and gardens are quite extensive however the weather was not good enough for us to make full use of them. Short distance to Southampton and the New Forest. For some reason, this hotel doesn't seem to feature in a "Southampton" search, so if you're looking for a cruise and stay package, as we were, it could easily be overlooked. As it was, we heard about it through friends recommendations and took a chance and booked it. We were very pleased with our choice, and have booked again for our next cruise. The hotel is in lovely grounds, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast and dinner were good, as was the basic room, and even though there was a wedding party there during our stay, they had breakfast in a private room so didn't impact on other guests in any way. No complaints at all. Taxi turned up bang on time and it was a very pleasant start to our holiday. More...
The booking in was easy, the room and hotel were clean. The only issue was the time it took to checkout. There was one person on the desk and therefore with the morning departures it took 20 minutes to be seen and hand in my key card to receive a receipt. Maybe there should be another person on the desk early morning? More...

We have just stayed at this hotel as a large family group of 9. Ages from 14 to 85!|Firstly the building and grounds are phenomenal. |The hotel is a grand Victorian building with an abundance of character. |The rooms (all standard Doubles and Twins )were lovely. Spotlessly clean and new decor. We had rooms 205,209,210,212 and 312. |Dinner was good but not excellent all round, though I enjoyed my stuffed chicken. Service was a little slow but there were 9 of us. |Next the staff: our waiter at dinner, George was first class. He was attentive and incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. He worked very hard. Maria at the bar was also lovely and helpful as was the lady at reception on checkout. I didn’t get her name but she had long dark hair and is new there. In fact all of the staff but one was excellent. |The only disappointment is that under 18s are not allowed to swim except between 1530 and 1700 at weekends only. But this was my fault that I didn’t notice it on the website. However, when I questioned this with the reception manager she was a little standoffish to be honest and not very caring. |Overall a brilliant hotel and we would definitely return More...
I hoped I was in for a treat as I drove up the long tree lined driveway that leads to the BW Chilworth Manor. I was not disappointed. The reception staff were friendly and chatty, and although I had arrived very early, there was a room ready for me, which was great. The terrace overlooks the stunning grounds, and you can walk for miles around them. It is truly beautiful. The food was very good and there was a good choice at all times of the day. I found the staff to be a little thin on the ground, and had to wait a while to be served at the bar on occasion, however it did not spoil my stay. I have to mention Cristina, who always seemed to be working!! Mornings in the breakfast room, lunchtimes and evenings ~ right through until the early hours ~ she was there in the bar, on the terrace..everywhere. Very helpful and friendly despite being obviously rushed off her feet. The lady deserves a payrise! The lady who made up my room was lovely too, although I did not get her name. Stayed here over a weekend and found it to be an excellent hotel. Greeted and served by very friendly staff in all departments. The room was very nice and clean with a very comfortable bed and a decent size T.V., and quite at night. A very good breakfast was available with a good choice of foods, the staff were very efficient but not overbearing. This also proved the case for the evening meal with a very nice meal. The hotel is set in extensive beautiful grounds of woodlands and meadows. Did not use the club as I prefer being outside walking and there was plenty walking to be had. Did report a cracked basin and a glitch with the shower curtain so hopefully these will be looked at, however they did not detract from the extremely enjoyable stay. More...

I arrived on a very warm day and was given a tiny room with a view of 20+ garbage bins near the kitchen service entrance. There was a small fan in the room which helped to drown out the sound of the delivery trucks (which began arriving around 5 am) but did little to help with the heat . This type of weather is unusual so not the hotel’s fault but there is no air con. I gave this property a better than fair rating as the estate’s history was interesting and the interior of the main building was quite nice. The grounds could be phenomenal but they need more care. Breakfast was good but I repeatedly swatted bees from my juice. The open windows to the garden were lovely but the insects definitely detracted from the atmosphere. Really wish I could give this property a better rating but I left a bit disappointed. More...
We booked a db&b package through Secret Escapes at a very reasonable price and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in room 3 on the first floor. |The room has been refurbished, is of a good size and has great views over the garden to the rear. At dinner, the king prawns were a delight and the homemade pies were splendid. Portions were generous too. The staff throughout were friendly and efficient. |Check in was very smooth and Dave on reception was a big help; checkout can be busy so we settled up the night before and that worked well. Worth noting that breakfast and checkout times were more generous than stated on our booking form. |One or two things might be improved but overall this was great value for money and we shall doubtless be back before the end of the year. My friend and I purchased a spa day deal on Groupon. The spa facilities are located separately from the hotel but very close by. The hour's treatment made it worth the money alone. The ladies were lovely and I chose the body wrap which was incredibly relaxing and included head massage and facial with it. My friend had an all body massage which again included the facial. We bought a glass of prosecco each to enjoy afterwards as a treat for an extra charge. You can buy tea and coffee from machine for one pound a pop. The changing facilities were nice as were the pool, sauna and steam room but it was disappointing that the jacuzzi was not in action. It doesn't look like it's going to get fixed any time soon. We ordered afternoon tea and enjoyed that at the hotel. We were attended to very well by the staff but it seemed there were too many when we first entered the room which was quite overwhelming. The food itself was high quality, particularly the scones and cakes. The sandwiches consisted of tuna; ham, pickle and mustard; egg and some kind of green and cheese and pickle. The ham was the best. It would have been good if one of the waiters could have gone through what all the different components of the afternoon tea we're on its arrival since you don't get any choices and I always like to know what I'm eating. The cakes consisted of macaroons, cupcake, meringue, brownie and some kind of sponge. All delecious and well presented. I would definitely go again. More...
We stayed Sunday to Wednesday for a well earned break, booked DBB package and can honestly say I’ve never eaten so much! The food was delicious the restaurant staff were friendly & attentive (special mention to Robert & Tony) nothing was too much bother at any time, some of the comments on here are totally unjustified, if you had/have a problem with the food or anything else for that matter the staff were more than happy to help. Heard a guest complain she didn’t see the poached eggs.. it’s on the menu dear just ask & guess what, 5 mins later 2 perfectly poached eggs, it’s that easy. Plenty of car parking spaces.I stopped on a standard room which was fine, not the best I've stayed in but certainly not the worst. The bed was comfortable enough but it was very hot and there were no thin sheets available so it was either a thick duvet or nothing. As the room didn't have aircon it wasn't the best night's sleep. To be fair this is probably only an issue two or three nights a year as the the weather was freakishly warm for the U.K.I stayed two nights and the menu in the dinning room was the same both nights which was disappointing. Breakfast wasn't great. The scrambled eggs were grey unappetising. It took an age for the staff to bring out items once they run out.The bar area is nice and there is plenty of outdoor seating. However, by 10pm this was covered in plates and glasses which attracted the local wasp and hornet population and didn't really make for a relaxed evening drink.Sadly I didn't get chance to go to the pool or spa so cannot comment. All in all it's a very nice hotel with great staff and I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed stopping here. Very convenient for overnight stay pre-cruise. Beautiful and tranquil grounds in which to stroll and relax. Excellent breakfast.
The hotel is a lovely old manor in beautifully kept grounds. The room was very comfortable. Unfortunately the fire alarm sounded at 4. 30am due to some selfish guest smoking in their room but the staff were very attentive offering guests blankets etc while waiting for the fire service and we were allowed back into the hotel as soon as it was checked and safe to re-enter. Maybe air conditioning in rooms because it was very warm and better times for families to use the swimming pool but everything else was good

Nice atmosphere, good service, & very good food.
Had a lovely day today enjoyed our treatments for spa day and the afternoon tea was lovely but was disappointed that the Jacuzzi was not working as it was for a birthday treat for a friend and had to stand in the pool chatting when we would have like to have all sat in there together
Only stayed one night but room was light, airy and very comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious (home made chicken & ham pie), and breakfast was a superb cooked buffet with a wide choice of cereals, toasts, and cold selection too.
We recently stayed at the hotel and used the spa and had a massage. This was a package deal with Spa Breaks. It was exceptional value as we also had dinner and breakfast. The hotel was busy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. …Read more on TripAdvisor More...

The manor hotel is in beautiful surroundings. The food in the restaurants was good and great portion sizes.
Everything was perfect. I didn't even mind the restrictive hours at the swimming pool. We timed the journey on Sunday to arrive around the time that children are allowed to swim and had a good couple of hours in there. Thanks, Madeleine
Lovely hotel, a little more expensive than we normally pay as cost comes out of our profit.Would stay again, but hopefully for more than 6 hours next time.
Ive just returned from a Wowcher offer, which was excellent value for money, at this splendid hotel. All the staff should be commended for their wonderful “service with a smile”. Food in the restaurant was presented and served very well. …Read more on TripAdvisor More...
