I wanted support and advice to help motivate me to go to the gym regularly and I felt I didn't need face-to-face personal training (which I have done before at my gym) so I signed up for Arland's Online Personal Training service.
Arland created an interesting and varied program tailored to suit my needs (knee problems) and my goals, and it got me straight back into the gym 3 times a week and has kept me exercising regularly for the 10 months that I have been doing Online PT. The weekly check-ins with Arland on phone/email are very useful and he has always been happy to adapt my program as needed. Workouts are set up and ticked off in a mobile app that is easy to use and has videos that show the technique.
I also made use of Arland's running training program when I decided to have a running-related goal. Having only run on a treadmill and never taken part in any kind of running event he helped me to train for an outdoor 10K. The running training program successfully improved my speed and endurance, and I completed the 10K in a much faster time than I thought I was capable of. I have also gone on to complete a challenge of running a total of 130km in one month, which is a huge achievement for me.
I am very pleased with the results and I would highly recommend Arland, his running training program, and his Online Personal Training.

I have been using Arland for a little under 6-months and i can say i am extremely happy and pleased with the progress we have made in that time. Starting with a thorough review to help me understand and identify what i wanted to achieve, Arland has maintained an excellent and varied training program. We have targeted the areas identified and seen some good gains, both in terms of fat loss and increased muscle. The main progress area has been increased flexibility and general well being - no more aches and pains.I genuinely look forward to each training session, as no two are the same. I have been introduced to boxing as an excellent workout, which i had never done in the past.Arlands easy going style is also excellent. But be under no illusion he always pushes those last few reps out and encourages me to do more than i would on my own.If you are looking for PT away from the formalities of a gym membership etc, then i have no hesitation in recommending Arland. I have been using Arland's Personal Training services since April 2019 and he has been great at helping me lose 21 lbs so far and improve my fitness level to a standard I haven't seen for over 5 years. He works with you to find your base level and then aims to improve that at your own pace. I find his method of teaching easy to work with, he has also provided helpful information on nutritional meals and also workout routines that we use in-between his visits. Definitely would recommend anyone thinking of getting a PT, his easy going style makes even the most unfit of us feel comfortable. Managed to find Arland on Bark about 12 weeks ago, best find ever! I have had 10 weeks worth of sessions with him and what a difference I've seen in myself! First step was figuring out what I needed from the sessions and what my goals were, from then on Arland gave all the advice he could and supported me with my meal choices and my exercises without flaw. I could not fault him for his professionalism, friendly attitude and his willingness to push me to my limit even though I'm swearing at him.I've had to give up the sessions for now due to a change in personal circumstances but I know I won't be away forever.Everything Arland does is geared to you and what you want out of his sessions and he is quite willing to tell you if he is not the right person for you. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I take the time to get to know my clients and understand their needs. I provide the knowledge and means to implement an effective exercise program that is specific to the client and their goals.I offer advice on healthy eating and lifestyle choices. I constantly reflect on my own methods to ensure that the training I prescribe is of the highest standard. I act as a motivator both during sessions and the rest of the time by sending emails and posting on social media. I respond to any queries a client my have in a timely fashion.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
I am always honest with my clients and there's no escaping the fact that hard work and dedication are the key requirements to losing weight and getting fitter. If you're willing to put the hard work in then anything is possible and you can achieve things you didn't think were possible. The second part is to know what you're doing when it comes to training and diet and that is where I come in. Understanding how your body works and knowing how to generate change are key and that is why working with a qualified professional will always give you an advantage.
What do you love most about your job?
I am passionate about the health and fitness industry and love helping people achieve positive results.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a keen interest in sport and exercise science and would love the opportunity apply the knowledge I have developed throughout my university education to a full time career. I have an extremely motivated, determined and results driven mentality to my work and take pride in my ability to provide an outstanding service. Finally, I am motivated to be self-employed and create a successful business that I can be proud of.

As well as being a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer, I have an undergraduate degree in Sports Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Strength and Conditioning. I have experience working with professional athletes as well as the general public to achieve all manner of fitness and health related goals. My motto 'you don't have to be a pro to train like a pro' so regardless of your current fitness level you will get the best, most innovative training there is.
