Akson Ltd – Soundproofing and Construction

I had my garage converted into a sound proof music studio (with a waiting room & toilet) around a year ago. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t receive any noise complaints from neighbours and to able to work in a space at whatever time. Over the last year i’ve been able to develop and grow my business and am using the space to accommodate my piano & drum students as well as working on my music production work. Darius and his team did an absolutely brilliant job in making this happen for me and am more than happy with the results. (And haven’t received a single noise complaint!)

I was particularly impressed with the team’s reliability and constant communication with the project. This kept me involved throughout and I was able to make any adjustments if needed. They kept everything as tidy as possible and worked very efficiently with close attention to detail.

Reliable and quality service. They have priced every job separately and given reasonable estimates from the beginning. Work for done up to the expected standard and leaves the property nice and tidy every day after work. I did soundproofing on my partition wall and did some other alterations in the house including knocking down a wall and installing a support beam according to the structural engineer's plan. Darius was extremely good at communicating with us, the structural engineer and with the building inspector to make sure the job was done up to the standard guidelines.

My flat is in a conservation area of central London in a building that was converted into flats in the 1980’s with very poor insulation between floors and ceilings. I had no idea when I moved in this flat that the noise from the neighbours upstairs would be nearly unbearable, especially during the pandemic when I was required to work from home. I had been looking for soundproofing, but most companies I found were telling me that I will need to find someone to do the decorating after. I could not believe that they were not able to offer a complete solution. I work long hours and I have no time and energy to be looking around for a decorator.

Akson Ltd were exactly what I was looking for. They offered me the best quality of soundproofing that is currently available in the market and they were also able to do the decorating after, all included in the price of the soundproofing. Soundproofing is not cheap and you should be ready to put up with some dust for a few days, but the quality of their work and the reduction in noise was worth it. The sound from upstairs has been minimised significantly and I am able to enjoy my flat. I was also very impressed with their hard work, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Darius and his team carried out the most fantastic work for us. We hired Akson to carry out some soundproofing for our living room. The job was sound containment for our home cinema and hifi system. This was a party wall and ceiling for 2 rooms upstairs.

They Started and finished the job exactly as he said they would and carried out a forensic level of workmanship throughout. His team worked 11-12-hour days at times and even worked into the evenings over the weekend to keep on track.

The sound test results were better than I ever hoped for. With a near 120% reduction in noise getting to the neighbours. This includes low frequencies.

Darius also offered to come over after the job was done and help me wall mount my TV bench back on to the party wall. This was no mean feat and he didn’t charge us a penny for an entire days work for 2 skilled workman.

Suffice to say we were blown away by darius’s care, and he received the largest tip we could afford for his amazing work. If you are looking for soundproofing, do not go anywhere else.

Very responsive, visited soon after first contact. Darius has wide ranging and expert knowledge in many aspects of building and will advise on your options without any hard sell.
We were interested in sound proofing a study/music room and the team did an excellent job in two stages - we tried the dropped and insulated ceiling first then added in a sound proof second door. There was an added benefit of making the adjoining room much warmer.
The team turn up on time and work quickly and cleanly. The prices are competitive and reasonable.
