errible experience which nearly ruined my son's 18th birthday. Alarm bells were ringing when it took them over two weeks for my deposit to be acknowledged and booking confirmed. I very nearly went with someone else at that point and in retrospect, wish I had. It does make me wonder as to the legitimacy of all the "5 star" reviews. The heating provided was next to useless - two tiny fan heaters, one of which hardly even put out warm air, let alone anything hot enough to warm the place up. The kids were absolutely freezing, we were having to hand out woolly socks for some of the girls and they all had to wear outside jackets over their party clothes. The lights kept cutting out plunging them into blackness - sometimes this was due to them tripping a fuse and other times they just stopped working for a period. Finally the speaker supplied - I had been assured that this would be able to be connected to a phone to stream music but it came with a headphone jack, which none of our phones have anymore. We had to connect it to a laptop which, not surprisingly, someone spilled beer on very early on so it stopped working. We were then music-less for about an hour while we sourced and set up something else that could be connected via a headphone jack. My son was so stressed out at one point he was nearly in tears saying everything was going wrong. Definitely not the experience we had hoped for and paid quite a bit of money for. We held a party for my daughters 18th birthday which was organised by Abacus. Mark came to our house to help us plan the event and to ensure that the marquee we wanted would fit nicely in the garden.
We decided to go for the 8 x4m as we had around 30 guests and this was perfect. We also had fairy lights, uplighting, stools, poser tables, carpet, infra red heaters.
A day before the event Chris and the team came and set up the marquee and they were great, Chris explained how the lights and heating would work and ensured we were comfotable with everythng before he left. This was very reassuring. The end result looked just like the photo's Mark had shared.
My daughter had a great time and she received so many compliments on the party. Ababcus were great, the team are helpful and friendly and I would definately recommend them for a special event.

I would thoroughly recommend Mark and his team. They were able to sort out the marquee installation in less than a week and no disruption to us.
The installation and removal team were very thorough, quick and friendly and made sure we were happy all the way through.
There was constant communication from Mark, especially as we had the marquee installed just before Storm Ciara hit! Mark took time out to come over and install extra weights and was in constant touch over the weekend to make sure we were all safe.
I would thoroughly recommend this company for service and great value for money.

Fantastic service. Accommodated everything we needed and made sure it was completed to the absolute best in the small space we had. Marquee looked fantastic and the lights in the ceiling were a definite winner. Excellent communication. And the staff that set up and in the office were polite and friendly. We have another excellent service from Abacus Marquee. We didn’t pre-book it this time as we were hoping that the weather will be good for the event. However on the Saturday morning, the rain started pouring down and the advisory is that it will be so for the most part of the day. Very prompt timing, plenty of communication. All in all we found the whole process easy, no stress atall. The gang who came to put the marquee up and take it down were very happy, plenty of laughter and good humour between themselves. Booked Abacus to put up a marquee for an evening party and couldn't be happier. Mark and Adam were great to deal with and communication was easy with quick responses. Having spoken with a few marquee hire companies, Abacus were by far the most competitively priced.Their team were friendly, polite and helpful. Set up took a few hours with lining and uplighters installed as well to my colour choice, and poseur tables ready for entertaining. Removal of the marquee was also carried out efficiently.
