How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

A healthy diet is a key component to our general health and wellbeing, small changes can truly make a big difference and help improve not only someone's wellbeing but also their quality of life. Everyone is different and has different requirements, which is why individual assessment and meal plans are so beneficial to improving health.

What do you love most about your job?

Every person has different requirements, so this means I work with each client to create a plan that works just for them, knowing that this will help to improve their health, lifestyle and wellbeing. As our health is constantly evolving, I really enjoy learning and researching anything regarding nutrition and lifestyle. This allows me to then use this knowledge and provide my clients with sound and reliable information.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My daughter was unwell for several years with the medical system being of little help, we then changed our focus to finding the root cause through nutrition. She is now perfectly healthy and enjoying life. As nutrition is a lifelong journey, I continue to read and educate myself for the health my family and clients.

Why should our clients choose you?

I work in partnership with my clients using both my nursing and nutritional skills, first we identify health issues and concerns. I then provide them with them an individualized meal plan which takes into account my clients lifestyle, social and personal situations. I maintain contact with clients providing them with regular support throughout their journey.

Your specialist will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you select the best treatment for your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a specialist today.

Dietitians are the only health professionals regulated and protected by law. Registered Nutritionists can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating. Nutritional therapists provide alternative treatment, based on the idea that the body needs 'healing' and 'correcting'.

  • Credentials - Find a specialist that has the credentials to support your personal needs.

  • Experience - Ask how long your Dietitian or Nutritionist has been practising and look up their background.

  • Gimmicks - Check your specialist is not supporting an unsuitable diet brand or supplement.

  • Right fit - Make sure they are upfront in the areas they specialise in and are able to make referrals if your needs are outside their comfort zone.

The minimum requirement for a Dietitian is a degree in Dietetics or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Nutritionists should have attended a course which is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

Before you choose either a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, you could read testimonials and read reviews on their website. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers too.
