Kenneth is bar none the most effective, knowledgeable body worker I've worked with. He relieved a long-standing issue with my foot in under five sessions, and has been such an excellent resource that he's become a returning instructor in my Yoga Teacher Training program. If you need results, better information, a supportive professional, and a good laugh once in a while ;) then Kenneth is your guy. I have no doubt that he's assembled a top-notch team at Enhanced Wellness Studio who will deliver the same high quality care.
As a life coach, I am particularly concerned about how we are all doing during this "Orwellian Fantasy", as one writer has put it, and how we're coping with the uncertainty and social disruption. Sometimes called the Great Reset, this time can be one of opportunity and change. If you've ever been fired, it stings and sends you into a bit of a tail spin. But later, you look back and say, that's the best thing that could have happened. I'm here to help you find that view, to help you reshape your world and create your future. It's because of the uncertainty, that we can make something new. The system has been shaken up, so now's a great time to strike out into a new direction. If you're already on the right path, discover new and better ways of fulfilling your dreams.
For people local to me, I am a registered massage therapist with a special interest in headaches. Since most of these are generated from the tension in the upper back, we figure out together what is happening in the client's environment, their posture, their stresses. I love being able to resolve the headaches as well as the various causes of the physical stressors.
Life coaching in its various forms is an extension of this, where we get to dig into the nature of stressors that are affecting the physical body. It's a deeper layer of the manual work I already do, and a possibly more permanent solution to the deeper problems facing many people.
I've been in an entrepreneurial role for most of my life, teaching abroad, and working for myself as well as subcontracting for others, with the occasional employment gig. I work well in both settings, but need a certain amount of freedom.
I'm a quiet sort, I like to think deeply about things that underlie our feelings and decisions. Not that I've always made the right decisions! But having failed at certain things, I can see beyond the perspective of a safe or perfect life and how to survive when life just doesn't go that way. Whether you've made the mistake, or as in the current moment, it has been foisted unfairly upon you, there is always a way to come to your peace.
I won't be pushing you around boot camp style. You'll need to be brave and quietly go about finding the solutions that are best for you - because they'll come from within, from your deepest, wise knowing. I'll help you listen to that voice, if you can.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
What should I look for when booking a Counselling session?
You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.
Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
What issues can a Counsellor help with?
Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.
Physical health conditions such as infertility.
Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.
Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.
Sexual identity issues.
Divorce.
Redundancy and work issues.
Phobias and fears.
Can I get a Counselling Service online?
Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
