We provide comprehensive and relentless pursuit of legal tax advantages to minimize BOTH taxes AND audit exposure. No risky or senseless ridiculous tax schemes suggested or accepted for consideration. We are ruthless about protecting your best interests and maintaining your peace of mind. Emphasis on bookkeeping and income tax preparation for established businesses which are aspiring to, or have reached, sales of $1 million or more, and their families. Flat rate compensation structure for income tax preparation for businesses starts at $1,850 and ranges to over $9,000. We do not encourage the acceptance of business startup clients whose owners have little or no prior experience in prior successful businesses. Clients that are the best fit have prior business experience and who have had disappointing experiences with prior bookkeepers or accountants, who want to upgrade their service levels, or who have had unfavorable experiences with their prior bookkeeper or tax professional with a prior IRS audit, either promoted by, or caused by incompetence of their prior providers. Our services are designed to deter tax audits for business owners and tax payers who are compliant with tax provisions, but whose tax returns do not reflect that level of compliance to deter tax auditors from commencing an audit to later realize they have caused an unwarranted audit that is not "productive" for the IRS. This situation is often caused by either incompetent or unprofessional tax preparers who have knowingly cut corners on tax returns to intentionally raise questions, which they, themselves, expect to be hired to answer, or to represent in the event of a formal tax audit. Our approach is to deter an unwarranted audit for our tax-compliant tax preparation clients. We believe that nearly all audits are deterrable if the information is presented properly and professionally, so those tax preparers who merely do the minimum are knowingly subjecting their clients to unwarranted audit exposure. Our compensation structure is commensurate with our level of professionalism. We are not bargain basement low-end service providers that operate "tax mills." We are a boutique tax and bookkeeping practice that provides traditional high end service with seasoned experience, judgment and knowledge. We have specific expertise in over 93 industries over a time span over more than 45 years. For business income tax services, we request a review of the prospective client's bookkeeping records to assess the quality of the bookkeeping work that underlies the tax returns. Our approach to deter unwarranted audits is dependent on reliable and articulate bookkeeping. Stand-along individual income tax preparation flat-rate compensation for individuals with incomes aspiring to, or above $150,000 starts at $850 and ranges to over $5,000. Our philosophy and approach to income tax preparation is based on thorough questionnaires, follow up, documentation, and full disclosure on tax returns of both narrative explanations and detailed numerical breakdowns to proactively inform IRS audit selection personnel ("classifiers" and "reviewers") that pursuing an audit would be fruitless and a waste of IRS resources, where selecting another taxpayer for audit would be more "productive" for IRS purposes. This approach requires that our target client be compliant with tax rules and upstanding and transparent in their reporting of financial transactions. For those who find these conditions troublesome, we recommend engaging your professional team from another source. We do not condone, excuse or disguise tax mischief by employing deceptive practices or justify any overlooking any questionable matters by means of plausible deniability. We are fully compliant with due diligence requirements of IRS Circular 230. We do not suggest or encourage the adoption of the practice of "taking" a tax deduction in an amount that "would be acceptable." Rather, we are keen on pursuing every possible tax deduction that is legal and documented, no matter if the amounts may seem unrealistic. If the deduction is justified and documented, we will provide compelling information to the IRS in written explanations which outline the reasoning and our due diligence procedures to inform IRS personnel of the compliance nature of the outlier situation. At the same time, we will not accept or enter a tax deduction on your tax returns which has no basis in fact or existence on the faulty grounds that it is "acceptable," "allowable," or "entitled." We are both a rigorous advocate for our clients and an ethical professional practice, which provides the most useful bookkeeping and financial reporting for business management, and the least legal tax and the least audit exposure for your peace of mind. Your inquiries are welcome and appreciated. Thank you for considering our services.

What do you love most about your job?

It's the variety of situations that arise that provides the challenge and drive to excel in the resolution and satisfaction of having made a difference that matters to the clients we serve.

We don't do "ordinary." All we do is "excellence."

What inspired you to start your own business?

After satisfying my mandatory experience requirement at CPA firms, my first job outside the profession was as a financial analyst with Memorex Corporation. I found the position so unprofessional and political that i quickly realized that traditional employment was not for me. There was no incentive for excellence, but an emphasis on mediocrity and "fitting in" to the established norms of political expediency. Coming from a professional environment of CPA firms, I regarded these social requirements as repugnant, as I had worked very hard to achieve my career milestones, not to be wasted on a job where only a minimum effort was expected.

Even though I pioneered the first physical inventory every conducted by the division, which was used for the annual certified audit, I found the effort unrewarding and the future dim and lifeless.

I started my practice from scratch with no clients and worked up from there. I haven't looked back since 1976 and never been unemployed since. Now, more than 45 years later, I'm thankful that the miserable experience at the Comdata Division at Memorex, long since vanished, was the catalyst for my adventure in self-employment.

Why should our clients choose you?

Our whole reason for being is dedicated to making a difference that matters to our clients.

We do that by insistence on providing relevant, thorough, competent services to improve the financial conditions of the clients we are privileged to serve.

To us, results matter. Betterment of conditions make our work fulfilling. Excellence in everything we do is our calling.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Most of our ongoing services are provided online once we have established our relationship in personal meetings. We like to meet our prospective clients in person, preferably at their place of business, so have a personal perspective on their business and get to know them personally as people.

Once we've become familiar with each other, we find that our clients are very comfortable with continuing the main content of our relationship on line or by telephone, which saves them travel and traffic annoyances. For those situations which call for a personal visit, we are happy to do so.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

We have continued our usual practice of online communication in the form of remote login for bookkeeping clients, video conferencing availability for tax clients, as well as the ongoing methods of email and telephone communication. We have not had the need to curtail personal office visits as our bookkeeping practice usually involves remote travel to our client's offices when properly and safely possible. During the pandemic, we expanded our facilities to provide more extensive use of video chat and remote computer access with simultaneous telephone conversations. This simulated a personal visit with the added benefit of both convenience, efficiency and safety.
