My husband arranged for a photo shoot during our visit to Zion for my birthday. He knows I love family pictures and he thought this would be a great way to capture one of our first nights on vacation with our family. Arika helped us find the perfect hike for our family of five and was extremely helpful before our trip began. Arika arranged our shoot on my birthday at the Canyon Overlook with one of her talented photographers. Rachel met us at the start of the hike and could not have been sweeter! She took the time to get to know us and made our three young children feel extremely comfortable. The 90 minutes of hiking/pictures seemed to fly by! We loved that Rachel knew the best spots for pictures, but also encouraged our kids to explore on their own and take the time to enjoy the stunning view. We received our photos so quickly and were blown away by the quality and variety of images. Not only did our entire family have a wonderful night, but now we have the most beautiful pictures to remember this special vacation. I HIGHLY recommend Arika, Rachel and the Zion Adventure Photography for anyone traveling to the area. The experience was priceless and one of the absolute best parts of our trip. Arika took our first official photographs as a family and we can’t thank her enough! Amidst the backdrop of the enchanting Snow Canyon State Park, she captured precious moments of our family while we just enjoyed being outside! Not a traditional photo shoot, it allowed for more candid moments and my older daughter to be photographed without feeling conscious and truly captured her spirit! Having grown up in the area, Arika has so many lovely suggestions for families on hikes, places to eat, stay etc. I now get to relive those breathtaking moments of the canyons and the trip through her photos! Arika is fantastic. My fiancé organized a shoot with her to take our photos outside of Zion. Unfortunately the day before our shoot the road into Zion was blocked because of rock slides. She helped us find another spot that was absolutely exquisite. She's fantastic behind the camera. She didn't try to micromanage us or have us do anything cheesy. Arika did an amazing job! She is very friendly and accommodating. We had age ranges from 7 to 74 in our family pictures but everyone loved her. She was very patient and helpful during the hike up to our picture spot as we had to go slow for my mom. She had great ideas for pictures. It was a busy day but she had a couple of places "off the path" that enabled us to get some pictures that look amazing as if no one else was on the canyons. I just received my photos and I just don't have the words! Arika did beyond an amazing job!!! These photos brought tears to my eyes! I'm normally behind the camera on our vacations and when out and about so I normally never have photos of myself with my family. She truly captured "Us"! It's hard to get my husband happy and relaxed appearing in photos, but she did it. Arika is just an amazing person! She immediately felt like a long lost friend to us, which really helped put us at ease and relaxed and having fun! We love hiking and going to Yant Flants for sunset photos with our 3.5 yr old and 4 month old for family photos was just beyond amazing!! Part of the reason we decided on the Zion area for vacation (besides it being warmer than home), was because of the photos I had seen by her through Hike it Baby. I am beyond glad that I partially picked this vacation just for the chance to do this with her and get these AMAZING photos!!! Not only did we get the most amazing photos of our family, but we had the most amazing hike as well! Arika was absolutely amazing. She worked with my (now fiancée) on a surprise proposal in Zion. She recommended the hike up to an overlook that ended up being perfect for the sunrise. This lady is amazing!! I reached out to Arika to plan a surprise proposal shoot at Zion - she responded to my request very quickly, and got in touch with me to plan everything. My (now) fiancée and I were planning to spend a few days in Zion during a trip from Florida, and Arika was able to help me set up the perfect proposal at Canyon Overlook. Everything went off without a hitch, and Lauren was completely surprised! The photos turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL - Arika made us feel comfortable, and the shoot was so much fun. I highly recommend Arika from Zion Adventure Photography. We hired Arika to capture photos of our family and friends we were traveling with. Arika is extremely laid back yet professional. She made us all very comfortable. We were impressed with how many shots she kept taking, even when we weren't looking in order to capture the personalities of each person. At one point our son had a meltdown over something silly (as kids often do). Arika reassured him, made him laugh and never skipped a beat. Awesome!She held to her deadlines for getting us sneak pics and then the full album. The website they are posted on has worked every time we logged in. We will be forever grateful for these pictures. I highly recommend Arika from Zion Adventure Photography. We hired Arika to capture photos of our family and friends we were traveling with. This was the ultimate souvenir from a wonderful trip. Unfortunately a couple of nights before our shoot, unprecedented rain ravaged Zion National Park which led to flooding and road closures. Even though this put a dent in our planned shoot location, Arika was unphased. She stayed in constant contact via email and voicemail ahead of our meeting time (knowing reception was spotty, she covered her bases). She selected an alternate trail for us that netted an amazingly variety of beautiful backdrops and fun along the way. And, even though so many other trails were closed, our only other trail mates were the guided horse group that passed through quickly. Arika is extremely laid back yet professional. She made us all very comfortable. You can tell that this working mom is serious about her business and in showcasing her clients in a way that they want. Let me just say that Arika is amazing! We reached out last minute and she got back to us quickly and was able to squeeze us into her schedule. She met us at Zion National Park for a photo shoot at Pa'Rus Trail. It was pouring - much to my dismay. She waited in our car with us for about 30 min to see if we could wait out the storm. We liked her right away - she immediately makes you feel comfortable and is so easy to work with. We finally caught a break in the storm - however, the wind had picked up and there was still a threat of more rain. None of that seemed to phase Arika. She worked quickly to get some amazing shots. Even though the wind was blowing everywhere, you would never know from the photos. They are beautiful. She captured images we could have never done on our own and we will cherish them forever. I like to hire photographers at new places we go since it helps capture some non-selfie memories. Arika is one of the best we have had. We can't recommend Arika enough - she is fabulous!! More...

Arika is amazingly talented. We are so grateful to have beautiful family photos beyond our iPhone snaps to remember our Utah adventures. We also had a great time hiking a loop recommended by Arika. Due to a flash flood, our original hiking trail was closed, but Arika is really knowledgeable and quickly suggested an alternate with gorgeous mountain views. Our family of 16 gathered in Utah for our 50th wedding anniversary and wanted to have a family photo session to remember our time together. We love the outdoors and we love hiking. We were visiting Zion from Boston, MA and wanted some keepsake pics during our 10yr wedding anniversary vow renewal. The entire experience was magical. From the gorgeous hike Arika took us on, to the actual photographs being taken, to receiving our gorgeous images... Arika is one talented human being with the kindest heart. Arika took us "Off the Beaten Path". Not only did we love the photos, but she was super kind and we had a one-of-a-kind experience at Zion. The kids loved playing with the tadpoles in the creek, catching a frog, coming face to face with a deer, seeing a waterfall, a lizard, petting horses and oh-so-much-more!! We were at the beginning of a two week road-trip when we had our photos taken w/ Arika and upon our return home, that experience still stands out as one of the top two days of the trip thanks to our off the beaten path adventure. Arika's photography service from beginning to end was incredible, professional and a ton of fun. She was quick to reply and setup a time for a photo shoot in Zion with a ton of options for locations to ensure we'd get what we want. She recommended a sunset hike at Angel's Landing to avoid the crowd's in the Park and even arranged driving and logistics so we wouldn't have to worry about anything. In researching our family trip out West, I happened to stumble upon a blog featuring some of Arika's photos taken in Zion National Park. While I had not originally planned on having professional photos taken on our 12 day adventure to 6 national parks, I just knew I couldn't pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity. My husband and children were initially reluctant and not overly enthusiastic about the idea of posing for family pictures while on vacation, but after meeting Arika they quickly came around to the idea. I dare say they even enjoyed the session! Booking a photo session with Arika turned out to be one of the BEST decisions I made on our trip. Arika is not only a talented photographer, but she is engaging, warm, playful, easy to work with and reliable. She really took the time to connect with each and everyone in my family and quickly put all of us at ease while she did her thing behind the camera. She helped us choose the perfect location for our photos and captured so many great moments that we will cherish always. Arika is an incredible photographer. My wife decided she wanted to get photos of our family of six at Zion National Park, the first stop on our tour of six national parks. My kids and I were not thrilled of the thought of posing for pictures before we could even finish our first hike. Although initially annoyed, our attitudes quickly reversed as soon as we met Arika. She immediately put everyone in our family at ease. She took time to ask each person questions to get to know them. Arika took us to an amazingly beautiful place for the shoot. It never felt like a photo shoot. We were care free, bounding on rocks and playing in the Virgin River. Arika took a ton of pictures when we weren't noticing. She was able to capture the essence of each of us in a way we never could. I don't know how she did it but the images are all amazing! The lighting, focus and scenery were all great. She worked to get the best angles... sometimes venturing into the river to do so (which was still quite cold from snow melt). Arika was amazing with the kids. At ages ranging from 6 to 13, they are not an easy group to organize but she managed it with grace. We were all having so much fun that the outing was over in a flash. We got to see pictures while we were still on our road trip and couldn't be more pleased. 10/10 would do this again. tl;dr - Arika is Awesome! Have her take your pictures at Zion! More...

What a special opportunity it was to have Arika walk with our family on the Pa’Rus Trail in Zion National Park. She was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable of the trails in Zion and the surrounding areas (and her website and blogs were an awesome reference for our family hiking with children which is how we found her to start). She knew the best places to pause for pictures of us in the breath-taking scenery and took some great candid pictures of us and the kids as we enjoyed the trail.
