What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Patience, and reflexes are paramount to the best photos. Taking the time to allow the right moment to arrive, then catching it before it passes are the two steps to a good photo, at the most basic level. Beyond that it varies greatly based on subject matter, and it's important to be able to go with the flow.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like to work on a goal based system for client communications, so one of the first things I like to know is what they are looking to get out of our working together. When I have a top level idea of what they're looking for, I can delve deeper to break down what I need to achieve their goal or goals.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the ever changing nature of working for one's self. I have a schedule that changes with the seasons, and shoot subject matter from products to people, and everything in between.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Someone offered to pay me for a photo I had taken, and that sealed the deal that this hobby was going to turn into a business.
