I've been working with Steve for a few weeks now and I can't believe the changes in not only my dog, but myself. He's taught me how to be a more confident handler and my dog responds very quickly to his methods. My dog is reactive to things that scare him (bikes, joggers, strangers, etc) and Steve's firm but loving approach is helping him to become a confident and happy dog. Knowing that I will be able to take him everywhere without the fear and stress of his unpredictable behavior is a huge relief. Training with Steve was the best decision I could have made! More...

We have had a great experience with Steve helping our 6.5 year old rescue Keene. When we brought Keene, we were concerned with aggression he was showing towards other dogs on walks in the neighborhood. Steve helped us immensely with teaching Keene (and us!) how to heel and deal with interacting with new dogs. Gone are the days of Keene pulling us around on our walks! I recently started bringing my 6 year old labradoodle to Steve for help with his walking. After a handful of lessons, I was able to take him into the neighborhood that I walk him in and have him off leash until I encounter a dog. Steve was tough when he had to be to my dog, Charley, and very loving to him as well. Charley looked forward to the lessons. I started dog training with Steve in January after my dog bit another dog chasing a ball. After only 4 sessions my dog was allowed back to doggie day care and plays with the other dogs and no aggression, including ball playing. ZoKar, (GSD) and Hayden, my grandson, started Schutzund training with Steve the beginning of January. ZoKar's progress has been AMAZING! ! This is all due to Steve's knowledge in dog training. What inspired you to start your own business?
As German dog enthusiasts/trainers for the past 27 years, our family made a commitment to contribute in a positive way to the K-9 community. We bred two of our German Shepherds and donated the majority of the puppies to first responders in the CNY area. This was followed by pursuing our passion for dogs further and establishing our dog training business, Winschelhaus Dog Training, LLC located in Manlius, New York. We welcomed all breeds as well as rescues. Over the past two years, we have continued to give back to our community by providing free training seminars at Green Lakes State Park with as many as 35 fellow dog owners in attendance during a single session. As we look toward the future, we are looking to expand our dog training and are seeking new pups/dogs for our Obedience program. We believe a trained dog is a happy dog!
