Danger danger. Wash ave vet is a revolving factory of bill bill bill. Then bill again. Office manager lisa Ortiz may call you back If she feels like it, will not be reasonable and will rude and offensive. Their practice is to methodically bring you in, give your pet all kinds of nonsense it doesn’t need then bill you hundreds if not thousands as they hold you and your pet hostage. There are plenty of thoughtful sincere, practices in the Phila area that are interested in the well being of your pet, without a front page motive to kill your debit card. Go somewhere else. Can’t say enough good things about Washington Ave Animal Hospital. Recently had a sick cat with a fever. Everyone who worked there was professional and caring to both me and especially to my cat. Even though they were busy and the hospital was full, they allowed me to say goodbye to her before they took her to the hospital (nervous cat mom). They called with updates and the doc was even petting my cat when he was giving me updates. They worked hard to figure out what was causing the fever and now she’s much better. Love this place. The way this hospital handled my baby is completely disgusting and unacceptable! My dog transitioned there on June 21st. She wasn't sent to the Crematorium until almost a month later because "they didnt know payment was made" although payment was received AT THE LOCATION. Not over the internet, not over the phone, not by mail. in person. They finally send her to the crematorium, on July 21st, after not knowing where whe was (which makes me wonder if she was really sent), and I learn today - August 6th - that she has been back at the hospital since July 26th😡 I am so FURIOUS right now. That was my baby that I loved on for 10 YEARS. You didn't stop short to take my $1000k+. Stay away from this place if you love your fur babies because I don't wish this pain on NO ONE 😭😭😭 More...

I feel like they do a comprehensive exam and reflect on the pet's previous medical history to help evaluate and inform their treatment decisions. They aren't trying to assembly line style get dogs in and out, but rather comprehensively treat and diagnose their patients. The place is clean. Their staff is very friendly. They are well staffed. You aren't waiting forever due to staffing issues. You can be seen when you need to be seen vs hearing we have nothing available for days..... More...

The team at WAAH took excellent care of my little cat girl today when I rushed her in due to irregular breathing and coughing fits. They were able to quickly address the problem and offer treatment and medications. I’m so thankful that they kept me informed via phone call every step of the way. Me and my Mom went to go pick up our dogs ashes tonight.. Someone at the office forgot to do my dogs paw print before he was cremated. So the guy at the desk says maybe its a mix up.. The Lead nurse pulled us in a private room and said "luckily we did not pay for it, & that it is a free service" - Yes, it may be a free service and a nice gesture however, it doesn't take the place of the fact that someone forgot to do it & it was a memorial keepsake that we were expecting. My chocolate lab mix, Johnny Cash, broke his nail badly enough that it required medical attention. My regular vet couldn't see us that day, was closed the next day and couldn't make a Monday appointment bc of an impending nor'easter, plus he really needed to see a vet sooner. They recommended I call Washington Ave Animal Hospital. I was able to make a walk-in urgent care appointment the same day. We were attended to immediately and Johnny was all fixed up within a half hour. The front desk, the vet tech and Dr Pete we all super - nice, informative, attentive, etc. The vet tech and Dr Pete gave thorough home care instructions and answered all my questions. I'm so happy with our experience that I'm going to switch my two dogs and two cats to Washington Ave Animal Hospital for all of their routine future care. More...

They really worked with me to save my cat. I am forever grateful. I’m not rich by any means but I love my animals just the same. My cat had a UTI. He was in so much pain.
