We are new to the area and needed someone to help take care of our dogs while we attended a wedding. In the past we always had our old neighbors to help. Christen is absolutely amazing! When we found out last minute before vacation that our dog needed to receive daily fluids we were a wreck. Someone recommended Christen to us and I called her right away. She came and took care of my Yorkie and he absolutely loved her. She is so sweet and caring for your pets. I waited until a few days into my trip to write this review, but I honestly knew from the beginning that Christen deserves no less than 5 stars. She is reliable and knowledgeable, but most importantly, she cares for her clients’ animals as if they were her own. Having to go out of town for 4 days only a month after my senior dog was diagnosed with kidney failure and prescribed daily IV fluids was stressful and scary, to say the least. Christen was a lifesaver and prevented me from having to board my dog at the vet - something that would have given me intense anxiety and guilt, and caused needless stress to an already taxed dog. Christen is amazing! She took the time to meet us and our pups to go over all the details before we left for little getaway. I immediately felt at ease. I was never comfortable with the idea of leaving them at those dog hotels and now I never have to! She gave me daily texts with pics of what went on that morning/evening. I started to panic when I found out 1 week before we were going away that my pet sitter couldn't watch my 2 dogs over Memorial Day weekend. I started to call anyone and everyone, but no one had availability. Then I called Vet Tech Pet Sit, and she immediately put my mind at rest when she said she can squeeze my dogs into her schedule. It worked out great! Christen was punctual, texted me every day and sent me videos of her playing fetch with my male dog. I am a veterinarian at the Bergen County Veterinary Center and I highly recommend Christen! Christen is an integral part of the team at BCVC. She is one of my go to people as she is responsible, intelligent, and efficient. She is wonderful with all canine and feline patients! I also trust her with my own pups and caring for them anytime. The fact that she is a licensed veterinary technician sets her apart from other people who do not have as much experience in the pet care field. She is the perfect pick for at home services for all types of illnesses- renal disease, diabetes etc. She can administer medications, subcutaneous fluids, check blood sugars and much much more. Christen stayed with our 2 senior Labs and 2 guinea pigs while we were away and I cannot speak more highly of our experience! I had a not so great experience with a previous pet sitter but Christen’s professionalism, daily videos and overall knowledge and compassion put our minds at ease. My kids looked forward to our good morning videos from the pets everyday! Our Labs are old with medical issues and she did everything we asked and then some! Christen has watched Shayna, our toy poodle while we went away a few times and it was such a huge relief! Our dog is diabetic and has some other medical issues as well. Christen gave her her insulin shots twice daily as well as other medications. Shayna is always happy when she's with Christen and that makes us happy as well!
