I recently had to put my cat down that I've had the pleasure of having for over 15 years. Not an easy thing to do, wouldn't wish it on anyone. I was handled with such compassion at this place, it was amazing. From the front desk to the tech to the vet, everyone was so kind. They even have a "comfort room" where you can lay on the floor with your animal and comfort them and spend the last minutes together, it felt like a spa setting and not a cold vet office. I really appreciate this particular VCA and I'm glad I ended up there (I had a $25 first office visit coupon). More...

I called in to the office today at 10:15 11/6/19, I can't remember her name, but she helped me set up an appointment for my kittens first vaccines and went over the timeline for micro chipping, spaying, vaccines, all of the costs. We talked about pheromones and she was very knowledgeable about bringing my new kitten home. I'm feeling much better about everything. Thank you so much, I'm excited to go in for our appointment! Dr. Zambelli, Dr. Zawadazki and staff are fantastic.   They never make me feel rushed and always have time to answer my endless questions.   Everyone fusses over my little dog and says how adorable she is.  What owner doesn't want to hear that?    It takes me 20 minutes to drive from Tualatin to Murryhill Vet Hospital, but I gladly do it because they take such good care of us.    The day after our first appointment Dr. Zawadazki called and left me a ten minute message!   She reviewed every thing we talked about, thanked me for choosing their office and told me how wonderful my little dog is.   I have NEVER had a DOCTOR do that!   Sure, offices will have a staff member follow up, but the doctor took time out of her busy schedule to call me!   That impressed me.The ladies who work there always seem to be smiling, calm and know their jobs very well.   I left another office because the staff seemed to be unhappy and looked down their noses at me.    Murryhill is warm, friendly and feels like home.   I am more than happy to refer friends and family to this office. The ONLY place I take my furbabies. I've always been treated courteously and compassionately, especially the last visit for my 15 year old Samantha. We had to say good bye in October last year and the doctor and staff at Murrayhill were so acommodating and sympathetic as we held her as she drew her last breath. When I went to retrieve her ashes a few weeks later, I even got a hug.All our kitties are patients here. I love how the vet techs are so gentle and patient. The doctors take lots of time to explain care options and pricing.Murrayhill is a tad pricey but not any more than any other Vet I've visited. It's also close to my home and that's nice since kitties don't like to ride too far in the car. I like how the waiting rooms for cats & dogs are totally separate. Less stress on both sides that way.You can also buy special diet foods and treats right in the office. I have used this vet for over 10 years and I can give them a strong recommendation. I have used Dr. Zambelli, Dr. Zawadzk, and Dr. Shcolnik... and they are all top class experts who are very caring. They are very friendly and down-to-earth people. One thing I like about Murrayhill is that the waiting times for the doctor are short. Typically, I am used to waiting 15 to 20 minutes in the examination room after the initial consultation for the vet to arrive. At Murrayhill it's always less than 5 minutes. Murrayhill has NEVER have tried to upsell me or pressured me to buy stuff I don't want (like pet insurance, acupuncture, supplements, etc). They also remember me and my pets and really care. In addition, after my first pet died of old age they were very caring and had a private grieving room. I would classify Murrayhill as a mid-priced vet... They are not the cheapest you can find nor the most expensive. However, if you are on a budget then I still recommend Murrayhill. But, let the doctor know that you are on a budget and they will look for ways to keep the costs down. More...

I first brought my fur baby here for an emergency; my dogs eye/face was swelling rapidly and none of my regular vet locations could fit me in for hours, even after explaining to them she was going downhill fast. I searched the nearest hospital to me and luckily that was Murrayhill Vet Hospital. It was a Saturday and I called to see if they were open and if they accepted emergencies. She said yes, bring her right over. They were literally waiting for me when I walked her up. Someone immediately took her to the back while another tech handled the check in process. They sat with me, asked about the situation, explained what was going on in the back and just said to sit tight. I was nervous, but was so grateful she was getting tended to. A short while later, Dr. Zambelli came out and explained how the next few hours were going to go. Talking to them really eased my mind and I was able to leave her there without too much worry. I was able to pick her up a few hours later and she was acting much better. Dr. Zambelli explained what she performed and what to expect over the next few days. I had a follow up appt the following week.  At the follow up appt, the techs remembered my fur baby and seemed genuinely happy to see her. The tech that did the checkup was so kind, she got down on the floor (I've noticed by now really all of them do this) to check her vitals. She showed me a trick to slather a pill pocket on the floor and the dog will be distracted. Works pretty great! The techs are so incredibly nice; they truly act like they love every single animal that walks through those doors. It's hard to explain unless you witness it. It's more than just "I'm taking my dog to the vet". They are not treated like patients, my dog was really treated like a loved one and they didn't even really know her. Over the next few weeks I had a few follow up appointments and each time Dr. Zambelli spent so much time with me, answering all my questions and giving me recommendations and why she felt certain ways about medications, etc. I've been to 5 total vets with my fur baby (I've moved across the country) and have never had a bad experience with any. But I have to say I have had EXCEPTIONAL service here. I again have moved to a nearby city, but Murrayhill will remain my vet from here on out. More...

LOVE LOVE LOVE Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital! They got us in same day as a first time visit for our dog Pancho who seemed to have injured himself and after 2 visits at Banfield on Walker Rd we were concerned that they hadn't suggested X-rays, and wrote him off as having a spinal disease. Dr. Michele Zawadski was great! She took her time examining him thoroughly, and did suggest X-rays, even offered to communicate with our friend who is a Vet in CA if we wanted. They followed up immediately to see how he is doing and Dr. Zawadski gave us a  preliminary diagnosis based on the exam and her viewing the X-rays and set expectations to hear back from the X-ray technician on Monday as he/she has the eagle eye for spotting nuances in X-rays. Dr. Zawadski called me on Monday morning with the results and put us at ease with great news. Wonderful bedside manner and wonderful support staff. Katelynn was especially helpful by very quickly answering emails for requests to share Pancho's info with the acupuncturist immediately and myself. My husband and I have been using Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital for over 6 years and have always received exceptional care for our Great Dane, Phineus.  We have had continuous positive interactions with staff, excellent response times, and compassionate communication for our fur baby at every turn. 2018 has brought us a new member to our family. On New Years Eve, we had a stray Yorkie end up on our front porch. Though we were unsure how she arrived on our door step, it was evident that this poor animal was in need of significant medical attention. It was without a thought that we reached Murrayhill to ensure this puppy was able to get the best care possible, as we worked to connect with our community and locate the owners.  Sadly, we learned that due to her significant medical concerns, the previous owners had chosen to get rid of this sweet girl.  We took their loss as our gain. After finalizing the adoption, we had the privilege of getting to work closely with Dr. Liz Hardesty and her veterinary team.  She immediately embraced this sweet dog as if she had been a patient for years, and helped us create a care plan that ensured her medical needs were met, all while giving respect and consideration to our family needs. From the moment we walked through the door with this sick puppy, the staffs evident love and compassion was unable to be missed. The staff knew her name, her story, and was evidently rooting to see a speedy recovery. We left our first appointment with Dr. Hardesty so thankful that we found such a personable vet, who shared such a big heart for terriers.  It is because of this veterinary team that though we now live roughly 1 hour away from the clinic, and we have and will continue to drive both of our pets to ensure their care remains at Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital. We wanted to try a chemo drug suggested by my vet sister, and Dr. Hardesty made sure we understood it might not take, and definitely didn't push the more expensive route and ultimately was concerned about his comfort. He didn't make it.

Several months later we got a young dog and made sure to ask for Dr. Hardesty. I'm sure there are many wonderful doctors here, but she is special to me. I appreciate her honesty and compassion, and she tells me what she thinks is unnecessary and why. I am glad to keep coming here in happier times.

I can't say enough about how much Murrayhill Vet did for us and our 1 year old aussiedoodle, Rae, over the last month. Dr. Hardesty discovered that she was going into kidney failure and needed to go to Dove Lewis for the weekend. She worked tirelessly for 3 weeks trying to figure out what caused the kidney failure. Dr. Hardesty went above and beyond...she probably had 8-9 specialists involved in the case and never once made me feel guilty for how she did for us. She also never seemed bothered by my numerous phone calls every day. Dr. Hardesty even gave me her personal cell number and encouraged me to contact her if needed. There were a couple times we talked on the phone at 10pm. She was very dedicated!!!Right before Christmas we found out our little girl had lymphoma and would need to put her down due to the progression of the disease. We were completely heartbroken but Dr. Hardesty was so comforting during the process. She was not afraid to show her emotion, which showed how much she truly did care for our pup. Not only was Dr. Hardesty incredible but so was all the rest of the staff. Kim, one of the receptionists, was so caring and loving towards Rae during this. Rae spent every day for a week at Murrayhill on IV fluids. When we would come get her in the evening Kim would tell us how Rae was her lunch date. We have been bringing our 1.5 year old Great Dane, Egon, here since we brought him home at 8 weeks. I see some of the reviews complaining about this place being too expensive, and them pushing insurance so, since we are a "frequent flyer," I decided it was worth writing a review. First, let me say that this place IS a little more expensive, but it is fantastic and worth it. I have friends that have taken their dogs to cheaper places like Banfield and it has been a nightmare. We have seen just about every doctor at this hospital and they have all been fantastic and very helpful. I always have a million questions and they patiently answer everyone of them. They give us different options for treatment and always discuss test results in depth. They also always call the next day to follow up and see how Egon is doing. They have several doctors and purposely leave open appointments for emergencies so they are usually able to see us pretty quickly, especially when it is not something we can wait too long to address. They also keep up with the latest treatments and information related to the industry which is great. So yes, they are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. We are currently in the midst of figuring out what is causing a chronic condition and they have been fantastic.Second, I am a complete supporter of pet insurance. It may seem unnecessary right now, but it probably won't at some point in the future. In the short 1.5 years of Egon's life, he has had pneumonia, facial masses, diarrhea and vomiting, and a few other health issues. So when someone says that they don't need pet insurance, I will respectfully disagree. You never know when your pet is going to catch a virus or break a bone. If it wasn't for our insurance, we would have had to drain our savings. Murrayhill pushes insurance because they see people everyday struggle to afford life saving care for their pets. On Egon's first visit, they offered us Trupanion (free for 30 days btw) but we already had PetPlan and they were just happy that we had insurance. The reviews that claim they get some kind of kickback from Trupanion are being ridiculous. When we had to take Egon to an emergency clinic (different clinic) for what turned out to be pneumonia, we were able to afford lifesaving treatment. That clinic told me about how often they have to euthanize pets because people just can't afford treatment- it brought the receptionist (and me) to tears. I know it doesn't seem like it to some people, but they are trying to help you. Overall, we have been very happy with the care we have received at Murrayhill and if we get another dog, we will be taking him here too. More...

And I was pleasantly surprised when they gave us a free toy for Haku for his first visit. And when it came time to pay, they also gave us a discount for checking in on Yelp! How cool is that? The icing on the cake was when they called to follow up with us to see how Haku was doing. How thoughtful! That pretty much sealed the deal for me. I was glad we chose Murrayhill as our go-to. Do yourself a favor, and schedule an appointment with them if you live nearby. Totally worth it! More...

We have been here twice in the last six months. First for flea prevention and second because our puppy sliced one of her pads open and once because she needed sutures. Both times the front desk and care staff were great! I really appreciated the transparent pricing and the fact that the vets did not try to nickel and dime us like our previous vets office would do. We were given several options with clear pricing and weren't hassled into choosing the most expensive one. Our dog was well taken care of and in and out with sutures in two hours!! You never want to take your dog to the vet, but they definitely make it easy. We will never take our dog anywhere else again. I would highly recommend this facility. More...
