What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Lighting, Lighting and Lighting. The secret sauce for photography isn't what everyone thinks with gear and lenses, although they help, understanding lighting and how it affects how the camera sees things is the key to creating emotion and a solid photograph.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
My biggest question for clients is to get to the root of what they need for their photography, ex. product photographs are a big thing of mine and they think they just need a quick picture to put online.... the fact is to make the product stand out and create an emotion and resonate with someone there is a lot involved. What does the product do, how does it work, how does it solve a problem or make the customer want to own it. Theses are questions I like to get to so the connection will show through in my photographs.
What do you love most about your job?
My balance is the best thing about this career. I have time alone editing, product photos and real estate and I have time with people getting to know them and their families through wedding photography. I love seeing the difference I can make in someones lives and businesses through something as seeming simple as a photograph. I love the fact that decades to come people will still have my art in their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Helping people have something they can hold forever or helping them grow their business has been my driving force.

I bring a unique view of the world through my lens, I believe I separate myself from other photographers by asking the right questions and getting to the root needs they have. In this digital age of photography the barriers for anyone to get into photography have been lifted so I think it's important to see past work and make sure their style and personality mesh well with the clients needs.
