FRAUDS. I've been a liveBooks customer since 2006 and have given them over $6k since that time. I decided this year to take down my LB website as I no longer have need for it. My renewal fee for the year was due this past October and when I went into my editorial suite to see what I had to do to make sure my subscription was not renewed, I noticed that my credit card had expired in July. So I did nothing else figuring it might trigger a notice that my site would be taken down unless I updated my credit card info. In October I saw a charge on my credit card for the renewal of my website and contacted LB. They told me that the error was with my credit card company allowing this charge and I should discuss it with them. I told LB that even if the problem *is* with my credit card why would they send me two emails telling me my card was going to expire and then turn around and charge a card they knew was expired? So I asked them for a refund and for them to take down my website. They have now repeatedly refused to refund me saying they don't give refunds! And even when they fraudulently/accidentally(?) charge a credit card. Even when the client has been with them for 12 years. This is the kind of company LB is so I would avoid them at all costs. There are other reputable website companies out there that if there was a simple problem like this would do the right thing. More...

Thank you, Livebooks, for years of support with the flash version of my website and a smooth, supportive transition from Flash to HTML5 - understatement! Laura Armata, Luis, and the team guided me through the steps needed not only to transfer my site, but to bring it to the next level. I received thorough explanations on tech steps, was offered links to other sites so I could see a range of creative options, and felt that during each phone session whoever was helping me was incredibly present, patient and willing to explore options, not just offering an easy solution. I would like to give a 5 Starts for Technical Support and Customer Service. I have been with Livebooks for 8 years using my website as a portfolio of my work. And my 5 starts goes to Luis Ariquistan for the knowledgeable technical support and kind and patience customer service on an amazingly consistent basis throughout the years. I have yet to experience anyone with such high standards and I know for a fact that he is a valuable asset for Livebooks customers. Luis was always there when I most needed and made it easy to solve solutions with thoroughly guidance both via phone and email. When I first contacted livebooks, I didn't even knew how to log-in to my account, but eventually I was able to build a new website from their template and the amazing customer support from Luis. My site seems to be loading slow on the landing page and after some investigation I have found that the way its developed is that the user when they go to the page they have to download the thumbnail and the full res images on the the grid of images that I have. So in effect you are having the user download 2x the images that they need to. Is there anyway it can be changed so that you download the larger image file only when you click on it? If you run a speed test on the website you will understand what I am talking about. I would like to figure out how to make my website load faster. It seems that there could be better development on the landing page. Also I was told a year and a half ago that they would make my logo larger on my website and I haven't heard anything even after several emails about this. I'm really starting to dislike LiveBooks and I have been a customer for a very very long time. Live books you have really let me down. More...

A few months ago my bank informed me my credit card was flagged for fraudulent activity and they issued me a new card. Today, I went to my site to update images on my site and learned that it is inactive because my credit card (which I'd forgotten to update with LiveBooks) had been declined. I have no idea how long my site has been inactive. I have no idea how many potential clients have attempted to visit my site only to find a notice stating "Website Not Found." While my e-mail account still works I have received no e-mails from LiveBooks to inform me my card had been declined. Neither have I received a single phone call. This is garbage customer service. This tells me LiveBooks doesn't care if I continue to provide them with my business...continue to give them money. And this is the last straw in a series of gaffes on LiveBooks part that clearly tells me I need to change providers. More...

Laura Amata, liveBooks support rep, is amazing! I had struggled for months with our accredited ICANN registrar to get my late husband's website, which showcases his art, back on-line. In desperation, I booked a call with liveBooks to see if that would help. I was so fortunate to have Laura respond to my request! She was able to work through the problems with NameCheap, help me make a few slight corrections to the site, and get the site back on-line using HTML5. When the issue with NameCheap wasn't resolved within the time of the original call, Laura booked another call with me and persisted until we could see the web-site on line -- finally after 4 frustrating months! Her persistence, knowledge, humor, skill, and enthusiasm made all the difference to me. I am elated that the site is now up and viewable again. Laura deserves an award and a raise! She is awesome! I have been a LB client since 2004 and have loved the way we as photographers had control over most, I say most aspects of the site. At that time we had to pay LB to make changes to the front end or other areas we did not have control of. This was when apple was using and promoting Flash and for most of us it worked fine. Now move ahead to when Flash is going away. Myself and many of you have been very frustrated with LB and Apple because we were forced to change. People, for the most part do not like CHANGE, but this was a necessary evil and in the long run the LB 8 platform is going to be outstanding. Is there a learning curve? Absolutely! Is it worth it? YES! I have been working with Laura and others with LB and she has been explaining and showing just how powerful LB8 is and WOW do I love how it looks on my tablet and phone, not to mention my 30" apple monitor. This is a terrible company. We wasted lots of time and money trying to build a custom website with them only to discover in the process that nothing they do is really custom. After spending over 2K with them, we decided to go a different direction and never even had our site go live with them. Imagine our shock when today I discovered a $90 charge on my credit card from them! I guess the 2 years of hosting I paid for (BUT NEVER USED BECAUSE I NEVER HAD A SITE GO LIVE) expired and they decided to add insult to injury and charge me for hosting. And the url they charged me for is already hosted elsewhere! What the heck. You guys need to get it together and stop treating everyone like $ signs. More...

Do not trust Livebooks or WeddingWire! Livebooks refuses to honor a contract I purchased for over $2K for a lifetime of no annual fee web hosting. They say since they were purchased by WeddingWire that they are not obligated to honor previous contracts made by Livebooks. This is absolutely false. When WW purchased Livebooks it acquired all of Livebooks' customer relationships, including all customer contracts. WW assumes all Livebooks' liability under those contracts. A buyer can’t accept the benefit of those acquired contracts without assuming the liabilities as well. More...

I'm having the same problem with liveBooks Community. I have one of the grandfathered one-time price websites, and they are unwilling to honor this under the new platform. I was told many times (after waiting for years for the livebooks8 platform to come out) that I would have to pay a nominal one-time upgrade fee. Hopefully they will honor past promises and agreements, but up until now they have only offered me 20% off their monthly fee. Terrible and unethical service from a once-great company. More...

Several months ago I was told that Livebooks was switching over to a new format. I wasn't happy about this. I tried to make the changes on my own and it proved to be over my head so I quit attempting to make the changes out of frustration with my web hosting company and pretended the issue didn't exist. Fast forward a couple of weeks and after receiving multiple emails from Livebooks regarding the change I asked for help and was put in touch with Claudia Neculesei. She attempted to make the changes for me and on the first attempt was unable to make it work. But she never gave up!! For several days she attempted many different approaches and finally was able to make all the necessary changes and my site is updated. Not once did she give up. She continually came up with solutions to try and solve the issues and did it in an incredibly professional and patient manner! When LiveBooks contacted me regarding needing to migrate my older flash site to their new HTML5 web site I was not a happy camper at all and complained quite bitterly. In response I received a very responsible reply from Claudia Neculesei on the LiveBooks support team who brought sanity to the situation and over a period of at least 20 emails literally held my hand every step of the way, each time resolving something that seemed impossible to me, always making practical suggestions and all with great affinity. I literally went from leaving LiveBooks to a dedicated user. I have received unexpectedly excellent tech support on migrating my Flash site to the new HTML5 platform. I wasn't happy with the formatting caused by the conversion, but I got very clear answers to email questions, and a few very helpful personal phone calls which saved enormous amts of time. Lily Larson has been incredibly helpful - she transfered my new site to a new template without me having to do it or even ask her, she knew what I was looking for, and now it looks just the way I wanted it all along - simple and clean for displaying photographs. Most sites like this are difficult to use (I've tried several and gave up). Having the ability to talk on the phone has been really great, and everyone who has responded to my questions has been very clear and helpful.
