What do you love most about your job?
Creating work that helps our clients get great results and achieve success is very rewarding to us. We love the we get the opportunity tackle challenges with creative solutions.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We've both been photographers since we were teenagers - starting with film and developing our own work. It's been a lifelong love, but we didn't think it could be a career until some friends asked us to photograph their wedding back in 2007. That led to a successful wedding & portrait business, and eventually morphed into shooting architecture (we wanted our weekends back!) All along we did portraits and product work as well, but that work didn't really have a "home" until we started The Shot Shop.
Why should our clients choose you?
There's no shortage of photographers out there, but we're unique in that we have loads of experience, an arsenal of gear that can solve practically any technical challenge, and a true commitment to creating images that will create value for you. We are artists, but we aren't "artistes" - meaning that we want you to provide input and be involved in the process. We believe that will result in the best work that will get you the results you're looking for.

Product photography is done in-house at our Rivertown Detroit studio where we have all our tools at our disposal.
Branding sessions are typically done on location, but can also be done in studio.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Everyone on our team is fully vaccinated and we follow recommended guidelines by the CDC. If you want us to wear masks at your session, just let us know ahead of time. (Writing this in early 2024, there are no mask mandates currently.) We are committed to ensuring everyone's safety. We do require that anyone scheduled for a shoot to cancel if they have covid and to follow the current recommendations on when to re-schedule.
Product Photography
Make your products shine with high quality, professionally lit photography! We offer both simple product shots on a clean background as well as stylized images appropriate for social media.
Headshot Photography
Available on location or in our Rivertown Detroit studio.
Branding Photography
Our brand packages are individually curated for business owners, creatives, and other professionals who want to connect to their audience in an authentic way. Available on location or in-studio. Monthly content packages or one-time updates available, with the option to include video.
Social Media Content
We offer monthly & quarterly packages for brands and businesses that need on-going content for their social channels.
