The Backyard Boutique

When I first became pregnant, I started looking around and asking for recommendations for photographers for maternity and newborn photos. Sam came highly recommended by fellow moms, but what sold me was her portfolio. Her work is beautiful! Getting ready for motherhood, I wondered whether I should book one or two shoots. Like a little Christmas miracle, Sam offered a holiday promotion and I decided to pull the trigger and book not just one or two sessions, but three (maternity, fresh 48 & newborn)! Let me just say, Sam is absolutely amazing at what she does. My husband is the type of person who freezes in front of any camera, and me with my growing body and changing shape, I was so self conscious and critical of how I looked. Still, Sam somehow made us laugh at every session, unexpectedly enjoying ourselves and really grateful for her fantastic combination of professionalism and personal touch.Being SO pregnant, the maternity shoot was a bit of a worry, but Sam made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and reassured me that she would do her best to capture my most flattering angles. During the fresh 48, she swooped in, did her magic, and left without a trace, taking the most stunning shots of our new bundle of joy. At the newborn shoot at her sweet and cozy studio, she handled our precious baby with love and care, seamlessly transitioning from one setup to another (all carefully picked out ahead of time by Sam, according to your preferences), not even batting an eyelash when the little guy peed right on her shirt. Even my husband is a fan, now, and looks forward to more photos with Sam in the future, as our family grows and we try to keep track of life before it flies past us. She's not only an awesome photographer but a great fellow mom that I'm so glad to have gotten to know and appreciate. Oh, and she also makes sure to stay on top of all of her vaccinations, which was a non-negotiable for us, so we were so glad to find that she is conscious of even that aspect of things.If you're looking for the best photographer for your life's special moments (who also won't break the bank!), Sam's your girl! Sam is talented, fun, kind, and patient! She did such a great job capturing our family during our extended family session. Getting 3 kiddos (plus 7 adults) to cooperate is not an easy feat and Sam went above and beyond to entertain them. The photos we received are absolutely amazing! Not only is Sam an amazingly talented and creative photographer, she is a beautiful human and I'm so glad we were able to work with her during her glitter mini sessions. She was sensitive to my daughter's medical condition and even made special lighting arrangements in her busy day of back to back photos so that my daughter wouldn't be exposed to flash (Sam's idea, not mine!) Samantha exceeded my expectations. She came to my home to take photos of my children, which is no easy task. She was timely, warm, friendly, patient, and so good with my kids. We booked with Samantha for a holiday mini session. Samantha was great to work with, and was so good with my children! The time slot I picked was during nap time, so I was worried about how the kids would be. Samantha had them smiling and laughing the whole time!!
