Wow! Tammy is amazing! During our engagement photoshoot my fiance and I both felt a little awkward at first and unsure of what to do. However Tammy was such a cheerleader behind her camera, boosting our photoshoot confidence skills (lol). She also directed us in what to do in order to get the perfect shots. Tammy also arrived way early ahead of schedule so she could walk around the premises of where we were shooting in order to get ideas and a feel for the landscape. I am so happy with the outcome of the many different backgrounds/settings and poses as well as genuine smiles and laughs that were captured by Tammy and her different lenses. She is a true artist and I am amazed at how fluid she is with her camera. So talented, I can't say enough positive things about her! Thank you Tammy! More...

Having Tammy capture our big day was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process!

From the first FaceTime call meeting her, she was a joy to work with and she made it so easy to be comfortable in front of the camera (not normally the case for us! ). Our engagement shoot was so fun, our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. She also worked with us to make a personalized wedding package to include a couple hours photographing our rehearsal dinner. We could not be happier with how all the photos turned out and on top of it all, she really just made us feel at ease and have fun! Thank you so much Tammy for helping make our big day perfect and what a treasure to have these incredible photos to remember it all with. More...

When I saw the photos Tammy had taken at my son and daughter-in-law's wedding, I told them that I thought they were the best wedding photos I'd ever seen. They had given me the task of finding a wedding photographer. Because I had no leads for one, I started on Yelp, which I don't necessarily trust. I found someone and looked at his photos and they seemed okay. I contacted him but he was unavailable on their wedding date. He, however, gave me the names of three other photographers who I then contacted. Two emailed me back. One of them was Tammy; when I looked at her website, I thought her photos were so interesting and artsy. I put her in contact with Sean & Madison. They also liked her photos and they liked her - she was easy to deal with and understood quickly what they wanted and really understood them.

She has a great eye and so many of her photos were beautifully composed. I wish I could post some of them! But maybe you'll go to her website and take a look. I think Sean and Madison will have a hard time deciding which ones to put into an album because there are too many good ones. The wedding and reception were so much fun, and Tammy's photos completely captured how it felt to be there.

Presumably most photographers will do the obligatory posed photos with family, and Tammy does those well. But she also captured the event as a photojournalist would - little moments between people, lots of people laughing. Looking at them brought me right back to those moments in time.

If you want just the classic posed photos that are formal and stiff, then maybe Tammy isn't for you. But if you want something more creative and artistic, you owe it to yourself to look at her website and hope that she's free on your date. I obviously highly recommend her!

Tammy Horton was a dream to work with for our wedding during the pandemic!
We had an intimate party in Alamo, CA and a week prior to that, we had our first look photo session in Grass Valley, CA. I would totally recommend her!

Tammy was very accommodating and exceptional at making these two dates work for us. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not easy, but we are truly grateful for how attentive and communicative she was.
We found Tammy through The Knot, and we just really liked her style and vision. After having chatted over the phone we loved how easy it was to speak to Tammy.

She understood what we were looking for. We wanted a photographer who could capture the moments without having to pose in all of the shots. That's definitely what caught our eyes from seeing some of her previous work. We were afraid of having our photos look and feel stiff, boring, or uncomfortable. Tammy did everything she could to coach us making us feel so comfortable with just being ourselves.
Tammy was also very responsive with all questions and concerns we had. Our wedding was postponed twice. She responded promptly and rescheduled like a true professional. She listened, she cared and she was so flexible as we were forced to change our plans multiple times.
I'm so glad we did the first look photo session before the wedding day. It was so useful to get a feel of what we wanted the

photos to look like. We had the most beautiful and unrushed photos.
Tammy is a joy to work with. If you value photography and are looking for someone easy to work with, Tammy is the best- look no further!

We will treasure these photos forever.
Thank you, Tammy Horton Photography!

I don't even know where to start with this review! Tammy is the BEST! She made our engagement and wedding photo experience so special, easy, and best of all comfortable. From the moment we contacted her, she was super communicative, answered all our questions, was totally open to our ideas, and worked with us to make both our engagement and wedding photos exactly what we wanted. Tammy is so kind, fun, and understanding. It really felt like our friend was taking the photos. We had such a great time during our engagement shoot and it was wonderful to have that experience so that we could get totally comfortable with Tammy. When our wedding day came around, Tammy and her assistant were fantastic. My husband was a little nervous about having someone he didn't know (Tammy's assistant) over at our apartment while he and his groomsmen were getting ready, but after he said, and I quote, "That guy was super cool." As for me and my bridal party, Tammy captured so many great shots. We were at a hotel in downtown San Francisco getting ready and then took photos at the MOMA. Needless to say it could have felt hectic, but Tammy helped keep everything so cool, calm, and fun. Our wedding was on Treasure Island so there was a lot of moving around and logistics required, but Tammy was a total source of calm. Best of all, the photos turned out STUNNING and totally captured the vibe at our wedding. I was drawn to Tammy because her photos almost looked like they were in motion. You can feel the energy of the party. Her images feel authentic and take me right back to the moment. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Tammy! More...

Being referred to Tammy was one of those things that, in retrospect, you realize was kismet.

We were looking for someone who could capture our special moments, but even more importantly for us, someone who could capture the stunning beauty of the foggy Northern California coast. Tammy’s expert technical skills in portraits as well as her landscape photographer/artist’s eye captured exactly the kinds of images we were hoping for.

It was also very important for us as camera-shy people to find someone we were comfortable with. Tammy’s warmth, kindness, easygoing nature, and great sense of humor put us at ease right away. She is incredibly intuitive and has perfected the art of knowing when to gently direct and engage with you, and when to seamlessly merge into the background.

What might not be as obvious from her gorgeous portfolio is the business side of things, which is equally as impressive. From logistics to communication to delivery, she is a standout professional. (And as a project manager, my bar is very high!) Tammy is definitely one of those special hybrids that excels in business as much as she does in her craft. And on a day that many people can experience as stressful, Tammy is one less thing you have to worry about...you can rest easy knowing she has a ton of experience, and knows how gracefully navigate any curveballs that might come her way. That’s a big part of what makes her such a pro.

So if you’re looking for an experienced, professional, portrait/landscape photographer who loves nature, loves Love, has great intuition, and has an extra special talent for capturing the magic of the present moment, we highly recommend Tammy.
