What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Startup Tandem, Inc. provides a complete set of services from basic data entry to more strategic services. Services include data entry, reconciliations, expense and revenue recognition, accrual accounting, financial statement review, FP&A analysis, weekly cash flow, and strategy for debt/equity financing.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
We have seen many businesses start their accounting partnership with a non qualified accountant, and the client ends up coming to us because they feel the need to scale their business. When clients come from a tax accountant, there is an additional time to clean up the books and develop reliable financial statements which can become costly. This can be prevented by working with someone that is knowledgeable in corporate accounting/finance from the beginning. If the accountant that is hired only does taxes with no corporate accounting/finance experience, the company will not be able to make any strategic decisions with any future investment or debt financing opportunities. Tax accountant only focuses on the financial statements in cash basis, not focuses on the big picture. Make sure you are hiring for the correct professional at each stage in your business cycle.

Services are provided online nationwide. If the client has Quickbooks desktop we can remote to their account given we are added as a user to their remote server. If the client has online Quickbooks, sage or Netsuite then we can have access online thru the user created.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We only provide services online given to Covid-19 . Safety is our number one priority.
Bookkeeping Services
Daily AR management,

Account Management
Bookkeeping services, plus a review of your financial statements, KPI, P&L analysis included in a monthly close call. Each month we discuss the areas of opportunity, and forward plan.
Cash Flow Management plus
Account Management services and cash flow modeling. Having a weekly cash flow model that you can rely on to best strategize for each upcoming week. Good for in between fundraising rounds, and project development. Monthly cash outlook and monitoring.
Financial Management/ Strategize plus
Account management which includes bookkeeping plus financial modeling of the P&L and Balance Sheet. Great for start ups that are in the process of debt or equity financing. Also great for companies to strategize to increase revenue, EBITDA , and bottom line.
Accounts Receivable / Deduction Specialist
This is an add on service to any of the plans. This is needed if you are in the retail space. Some distributors deduct much more from your accounts receivable, our partner can fight these deductions to get your money back.

Inventory Management
This is an add on service. This is great for start ups that need to implement a new inventory system integrated with their accounting system. It includes setting up new inventory items, cleaning up any existing inventory items. Monthly reconciliations can be added to any of the plans.
Clean of the books
Add on service if needed after the company’s books have been analyzed during the consultation period. This includes creation and implementation of a new chart of accounts, reclassifying transactions, correct expense and revenue matching and recognition.
Tax
You get a discount on the service if booked thru Startup Tandem, Inc. network.
Startup Tandem, Inc. does not do taxes, but we have partnered with tax accountants that do.
