Found Chef Steph on bark and chose her to cater my event because of her exclusive 100% 5 star reviews. Best decision I could have made. My event had a lot of picky eaters... 1 Vegan, 3 Gluten Free eaters, & 2 Low Carb eaters. Chef was meticulous and put together an amazing meal for ALL to enjoy. Everything was perfect! Imagine coming home from a birthday outing and SURPRISE! Your husband has hired a personal chef to cook an intimate 4-course dinner, in your home, for you and your closest friends AND it's all your favorite foods. Chef Steph, you and Derek gave us all the experience of a lifetime! We were blown away by the Spicy Ahi Poke on crispy rice cakes, followed by an exquisitely prepared Roasted Beet Salad with heirloom tomatoes, avocado and Li Hing Dressing, Grilled Ahi Steaks, veggies and much more for our main course and finished with Vanilla Panna Cotta with Raspberry Coulis, fresh berries, edible flowers and Gold Leaf. In September 2023, we contacted Chef Stephanie of "Starting from Scratch", through the Bark.com website. She responded quickly and courteously. She worked with us to create a menu of pupus (appetizers), mains, sides and desserts for a dinner for five adults during our upcoming vacation. She worked with our preferences and had many helpful suggestions.

Chefs Stephanie and Derek arrived promptly at our vacation rental home at the North Shore, Oahu. They quickly and efficiently prepared the fourteen menu items onsite. All the dishes were fresh and delicious, using local ingredients when possible. Standouts included: "Pulehu Flanken Short Ribs". "Famous Hawaii Shrimp Truck Garlic Shrimp". "My Grandpa's Local Style Beef Stew", "Hawaii Style Chocolate Dobash Cake" and "Coco Puffs".

Both chefs were engaging, warm and interesting. They talked to us about the history of the island, their recipes and gave suggestions on local attractions to visit.

The chefs cleaned as they cooked, handwashing pots, pans, dishware and utensils. They wrapped up and labeled the leftovers then stowed them in the refrigerator for us. There was nothing left for us to do, but to later enjoy the leftovers.

Chef Steph is AMAZING! I originally hired her to catering and a cooking lesson for my father. We were so impressed, we hired her for Thanksgiving & Christmas. She went out of her way to ensure there were a variety of choices for everyone in the family. My father has several allergies and she was so accomodating. Vendor was very flexible, reasonable and meal offerings allowed me a selection of choices to best match my class students with a variety of meal "requests" which can be challenging. The fact that all meals were healthy, fresh made the student match the best possible. They were courteous in their quiet arrival and set up as class was underway and gave simple instructions to my helper so set up was easy as was clean up.
