Amazing! My son has attended for the last five summers and it has really helped shaped his love of the outdoors, his character and his leadership skills. Last year, he had a medical issue while at camp and I could not have been more thankful how swiftly the camp staff reacted during the emergency and how much many individuals from campers to staff went out of their way to show how much they cared! Thank you for another great year for our kids! Our three kids have attended camp spanning the last 18 years! Every year, the entire staff shows empathy, kindness and enthusiasm towards the campers and creates a great experience as a whole. Its been almost 20 years since I was last at Camp Woodstock. I am sure the camp has changed a lot in that time. I still think about it like it was. When I left they had just finished building the new boat house. I still remember the trails...playing predator/prey and teaching outdoor adventure classes as an L.I.T. not to mention openening campfire night with friendship feathers that I still have packed away til this day. Last year, my 14 yr old son was reluctant to go to camp, but when I picked him up-he was smiling, and hugging friends and said-“See you next year. ”

The camp is clean and has nice camp buildings. I like Raskin Lodge because it has heat and indoor bathrooms. The food used to be really good but now it's more like school cafeteria food that isn't that great. The staff is very friendly.

Incredible counselors, fun activities and the BEST night games! A true good old fashioned summer camp, where kids can truly be themselves. I don't know how they do it but their counselors have most unique balance of being emotionally intelligent and "cool". I think they try very hard to pick them which I think helps keep cliques at bay and supports your child's growth at camp whether your child is popular at home or just "finding themselves". (All 4 of my kids go and they are on varying degrees of this spectrum). I think it's due to the fact that many of the conselors had been campers there themselves which makes a huge difference as they already "live" Woodstock philosophy of friendship and fun and have a already established meaningful relationship to this camp. On the weak side: Food is just ok (pancakes, waffles burgers pasts etc) but have they do have vegetarian options. ;) More...

The BEST summer camp in Connecticut! ...and possibly the world?!? I grew up in West Hartford CT, so I had several friends and neighbors who already went to camp. They all told me Camp Woodstock was the best, so I gave it a shot. I ended up at Camp Woodstock for 14 consecutive summers as a camper, LIT, counselor, and support staff. Now as member of the Board of Advisors, I can assure you that the current staff and Executive Camp Director care deeply about the experience and well-being of each camper. Summer 16 will be my daughter's 4th summer at camp and my son's second. Both started after 2nd grade. They love Camp Woodstock. The counselors are caring, kind, mature and responsible. My son has a peanut allergy and the counselors took it very seriously. Both kids love the variety of activities and the all camp night activities. They've recommended it to their friends and look forward to going back. We also enjoy family camp together as a family and I love the time to return to the days of being a camper on those weekends!...and the quality time with my kids. This will be my kids 4th summer at Camp Woodstock, and they are counting down the days! They started camp at ages 7 and 9 and did great! It was our first live-in camp experience and I won't go anywhere else! Counselors are amazing! I am looking forward to my kid growing up and resembling these young men and women! The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, respectful, safe - everything that a camp experience should be. My kids talk about camp all year long. I have been involved in this camp forever at some level. As a former staff member I could not wait to send my kids there. My oldest will be returning for his 3rd summer . He gave up being on an all-star baseball team to come back to camp. Since I was a camper and staff member, there have been so many improvement to the buildings and programs, but the spirit and atmosphere have remained the same. The staff are attentive, friendly, and everyone creates a culture where character counts! My two younger kids cannot wait to attend. I can't speak highly enough about Camp Woodstock. I spent 14 years at Woodstock, beginning as a camper, going through the LIT and CIT programs, as well as spending time as a counselor and support staff member. It was truly a life changing experience that significantly helped me grow as a person.
Camp Woodstock is guided by the CHoRR values-- Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. These values spread through every aspect of life at camp and contribute to the creation of a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Yes, the activities are certainly tremendous, but it's the permeating camp spirit that makes the Camp Woodstock experience so special.
