Some of these negative reviews are false false false. From judging medical equipment all the way to spending money, even as petty as physical location complaints. I was referred to Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic by my usual vet, Algonquin Animal Clinic, when my bird had a bad injury and the vet was caring for an animal in emergency surgery and couldn't see my bird.  After examining my bird, Dr. Redeker determined that he couldn't do anything for her and that "it didn't look good." He had his staff call around to 24 hour vet practices that specialize in birds to see if anyone could see my bird ASAP.   They were able to get us in at a 24 hour bird E/R in Elmwood Park.I was expecting a bill, and they told me there was no charge because they couldn't do anything and had to refer me elsewhere for care.  I thought this was fantastic, and I really appreciated the care and courtesy shown to me (and my bird) by Dr. Redeker and his wonderful, caring staff. My doggie goes here....my last dog went there as well, but unfortunately she had to be put to sleep (Lymphoma). They sent a condolence card which I still have, so sweet of them! Every now and again I have to wait, but that happens at any vet. Just don't schedule on a Friday, especially before a holiday. I waited an hour the Friday before Christmas last year, Was not amusing at all, especially with a packed house. Usually though I can get seen within a few minutes of checking in. They are kind, thorough and professional. They are a bit more expensive but they are convenient to me, and always make me and my Jessie feel at home. More...

I have used this vet for the past 10 or so years.  I would not go to any other (which I have before because of where I was located) vet for my beloved pets.  The office staff are always very friendly with both my dog/cat and myself.  They remember my animals by name and always comment on them and ask how they are, etc.  The Dr. is so professional and genuinely cares for the pets, as you can tell by his expansive knowledge and information he gives you in regards to your pet.  He also does house calls for when we had to put an old dog down due to a tumor on her leg.  I have also used his son's services for house sitting my dog/cat and he is very professional and flexible to watch my animals.  I wouldn't trust anyone else when I have to leave them.  Overall, I would highly recommend this vet for all your pet care needs. Our family has been ""clients"" of Dr. Redeker's clinic for almost 20 years (since we moved into the area). Shortly after moving into the area, one of our Old English Sheepdogs (about 12 years old at the time) took ill. The compassionate care given by Dr. Redeker & his staff when our Sheepdog passed, convinced us that his was a place we would continue to patronize. We currently have four (4) dogs - 2 Yorkie Poo's, a Yorkshire Terrier and, of course, my baby, a Bedlington Terrier. Dr. Glen Redeker, his daughter, Dr. Erin Goelitz and the entire staff have AND do take wonderful care of our ""family"" (our kids as we cal them). When I moved to Carpentersville my current vet was over an hour away. My brother in-law & sister recommended Spring Hill Vet Clinic. Being a certified vet assistant I hate going to veterinary clinic where they talk down to you. Dr. Redeker & his staff are extremely friendly, compassionate & intelligent! I own a pet sitting service & when I met Dr. Redeker it turned out he knew a lot of the vets I had previously worked with. Their staff welcomed me to the area, & even refer me to their clients for pet sitting now. I recommend them to everybody I know. I cannot believe the stupid review given by "Mai T."  My family, as well as many others, have been here multiple times over the years. The ONE time we saw feces on the walkway outside, a clinic staff member was in the process of picking it up. The Dr. and his staff are completely professional, as well as very knowledgeable and caring. They spend as much time as you need for them to answer all of your questions. They will even take care of injured and sick wildlife that you bring in, for NO CHARGE. The building and office are not at all "run down and old" but were attractive, modern, well maintained, and not at all difficult to drive into from the traffic, as "Mai T" claimed. Their receptionists are usually busy, but don't leave you waiting for long at all. Mai T. seems disturbed that it is owned by the vet and his daughter, who was out on maternity leave, so that he was ALONE (not)! God forbid, how dare his pregnant daughter leave!!!  Better family owned, than some cold, uncaring chain. Mai T. says her puppy was examined with the vet's "old school tools." What the hell is she talking about? What kind of tools are necessary to look over a new puppy? How does she even know what kind of tools a vet uses? Also, neither the tools nor the examining rooms are unsanitary. Don't believe her, she's obviously a total ditz and has some major issues I don't care to know about! Get a life, Mai T! More...

Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic is the best among all the vets in the northern Fox Valley area. They have a very knowledgeable, professional, caring staff. We've taken exotic pet frogs in, and were prescribed effective medications with which to treat them. We've found injured wildlife, such as a young turtle with a fishhook in his eye, a bullfrog with part of his leg missing, an abandoned baby blue jay, and a cedar waxwing found on hot asphalt after colliding with a vehicle. All were treated with compassion at no charge. The bullfrog and the cedar waxwing, sadly, each died from stress-related heart failure, but the other two recuperated after treatment and were successfully returned to the wild.
