Southern Paws Pet Sitting/Daily Dog Walking

Our fur babies have never been boarded and we’ve always relied on family to care for them, when we go out of town. So when an unexpected trip came up and family was unavailable, I came across a recommendation on Facebook for Southern Paws. What a God send! Our fur babies could stay in the comfort of their own home, while being cared for with love and attention. Kathy was wonderful in making sure she understood every aspect of our pets, and even set up a personal visit to meet and interact with them, prior to our scheduled leave. Immediately, they took to Kathy; which for our two dachshunds was quite unusual. Kathy and her team did a wonderful job in caring for our dogs and accommodated to their very specific schedule. Not once did I worry or felt concerned leaving them alone. Each day I received a detailed report of what transpired during the visits and photos of their happy little faces. I knew they were in good hands and received lots of love. A wonderful gift was awaiting us when we arrived home. Two framed photos of our fur babies and a Welcome Home note. Not to mention, they were lounging in their beds listening to the sounds of some smooth jazz. Our hearts were filled with joy. This was my first time using a pet sitting service. Kathy and Kera were amazing. Kathy met with me Thursday eve before my weekend outing. I immediately felt comfortable with her and Walter did too! She was so genuinely interested in Walter and how to care for him in my absence. While I was gone she texted me a pic and a message telling me how Walter was doing. I can't say enough about the love, care and attention our baby gets from Kathy and staff while we are away. Our normally skiddish doggie is happy and content when we return home. The neighborhood teenager that usually takes care of my dog was not available when I needed to go out of town. On very short notice, Kathy came over and met my fur-baby who is 12 years old. She took wonderful care of her and sent me regular picture and text updates and left a very sweet note and picture for me when I returned. We just had Kathy and her crew with Southern Paws "sit" with our Harley for a long weekend while we visited family!....Well, all we can say is "wow! !!" ....these people are remarkable, and Harley LOVED them!... They kept us posted WITH PICTURES every day!......He loves staying at home, so they made several trips to our house every day to check on him, walk him, and spend extra time with him! ...When we returned home, we found a framed picture of Harley and a sweet note telling us how much they enjoyed our furry sweet boy!... Just left our 8 month old Labradoodle with Mrs. Kathy & had such a great experience. She was highly recommended to us by a friend, so we knew we were in good hands. We left our furry babies in Kathy's care a few days for the first time this past week, and I am so impressed with her professionalism as well as how much she REALLY does love on our pets! She sent me several pictures, and I know my dog so well I can tell his mood by his pictures, and the pictures I received I could tell he was totally fine! Kathy was our pet sitter last month for 10 days. It was our first experience with her and she was wonderful. Our cat Annie is 13, has several health issues and requires medication, including insulin, twice a day. We haven’t left her since she’s been ill for any extended amount of time due to this. We were nervous about how she would handle the stress of a stranger and is no fan of her medicine anyway. She did great thanks to Kathy’s care and attention. Can't say enough good things about Kathy and Southern Paws pet sitting. She took great care of my 2 dogs. One had to have medication everyday and the other is still very much in a puppy stage and a handful! Our plane ride home was cancelled so we had to rent a car and drive the 10 hours back which added an extra day. Kathy was very understanding and kept the dogs the extra night, no problem!! If I could, I would add more stars to my review.. This was our very first experience with a pet sitter and we could have not been more pleased with Kathy. . We will never place our 'girls' in a kennel facility again when we are not able to taken them out of town with us.. "Aunt Kathy" will be in charge again FOR SURE!! Thank you Kathy for the excellent job!! The girls were very well taken care of and we had piece of mind knowing that they were in the safety of our own house, not exposed to the dangers of being mishandled by poorly trained teenagers staff in a kennel facility, sleeping on their own bed, eating their own food and being 'pampered/spoiled' by your care. "My husband and I go out of of town several times a year for both business and pleasure so we need a sitter fairly often. We started using Kathy a couple years ago and have been nothing but amazed ! We have had her come to our home while we are gone to take care of our two dogs on several occasions as well as had them stay at her home. We are 100% comfortable with both and so are our pups! They love Kathy, you can tell because they get excited to see her and when we get home they greet us and are excited but then go back to her haha! If you talk to Kathy for any period of time you will learn that animals are her life. To her they are like children and she treats them exactly like that. We get texts or emails while we are gone with pictures of our pups and little updates on what they are doing. Anytime she has noticed something might need attention (like our pup might have an ear infections etc) she is always quick to make us aware. She has also cared for them when they are sick and on medications. One time our dog Callie was in the hospital and Kathy called, texted and checked on her the entire time! She offered up help, advice and genuine carrying concern. Every dog she watches she loves like her own. I trust Kathy at Southern Paws with my dogs lives 100%. We had just moved here and had never had anyone other than family take care of our two babies. We were so blessed to have met Kathy while she was out walking two other dogs. We immediately knew that if we had to leave them she was the only we would trust. The first time we left them we were gone for 8 days.
