My husband and I were here for lunch and the food was so good we went back for dinner. Pulled pork and ribs were especially good. The barbeque sauce is the best!! Collard greens were excellent as were the steamed veggies. It's a laid back kind of place with wait staff that makes you feel like an old friend in a short time. 2 words...CRAB DIP! This is a groovy little restaurant/cafe/bar. I am an expert at crab dip. I will order it at almost any place that has it on the menu. It's also very easy to mess up. It all started as a group of cancer researchers going on a road trip/hike. We stumbled upon Soul Mountain during our journey. We have never heard of Front Royal, VA. It seemed like an interesting place, so we decided to take a pitstop. I can definitively say due to Soul Mountain we will never forget it. This restaurant had provided us with a food-based epiphany. I have never in my life previously asked to compliment and meet the chief at a restaurant. I thought it was something I only say in movies. However, we never experienced the odyssey that was Soul Mountain. I never realized the flavors of food I was missing. Not only was the beef brisket the best brisket I have ever had the grace of eating, but it is arguably one of the best things I have ever eaten. Not only was the food fantastic but everyone in that restaurant was kind and thoughtful. We felt very welcome, and they all treated us as if we were good friends. On top of that, the atmosphere was fantastic. We are going to find another hiking adventure nearby during our next federal holiday weekend, so we can experience this all over again. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for the food and your wonderful establishment. I wish I could convey even more gratitude. I just don’t even know how to fully explain it. My wife and I came here for dinner after reading the reviews. Seriously the best ribs I have ever eaten. Fall off the bone tender. My wife loved the burger. We loved it so much we came back for lunch the following day. Again they didn't dissapoint. The brisket was tender and just melts on your mouth, and my wife absolutely loved the crab cake sandwich. THIS IS THE PLACE!!
We just moved out this way a month ago & we found Soul Mountain!! We looked on Google as we needed a good date nite dinner place.
We are Lovers of food... The chef/Owner makes the most amazing dishes, he will make to order to your taste if you want something altered its no problem.
The food is delightful!!
The servers are wonderful people, they will help you pick a dish if you're torn, which i usually am. I recommend sharing because its fun!!
