Chris is an amazing chef and the food at Sophia’s is OUTSTANDING. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and were there on Friday for dinner and we were so impressed we were back for brunch on Sunday! The menu is simple, but packed full of fresh ingredients and creative flavors. At dinner we enjoyed their antipasto salad which was probably the most delicious salad I’ve ever had, dressed perfectly and full of flavor, the Zuppa livorno which was PACKED full of incredible fresh seafood served over pasta & the tuscan griglia mista. The steak was so flavorful, cooked perfect and the crispy sear on the salmon was delightful! Brunch was just as incredible - I had a morning special... a cranberry sausage hash Benedict which was TO DIE FOR... it should be a menu staple. My husband had crepes that’s were also fresh & delicious along with a crispy breakfast panini! Over all, we can’t wait to make an excuse to come back to town and eat a Sophia’s again and again! We went here a couple Saturdays ago for dinner and then a couple Sundays later we came back for brunch. Omg!! If you have yet to try either dinner or brunch you are missing out. Everything is made with lots of love and the freshest ingredients. For dinner we had a prefix meal but everything was delicious. From the antipasto, black and blue mussels and the bread with olive oil. For dinner we had the shrimp cardinal .. wow! The sauce was thicker and scrumptious. Nothing to complain about.For brunch we had bottomless amounts of coffee which was freshly made. My husband got the short rib special which looked amazing and he did say it was great! I always end up getting the same meal as I know I love it which is the monte cristo with my eggs over easy. Oh yeah and this time we tried their hash ... Hasharific! Ok, I have to bump you to five stars, friend. The food is on point! I finally got to come in for dinner, and boy, were we impressed. The wait staff was also super friendly and attentive, despite being so busy. I typically don't eat Italian food out, but this is definitely the place I'll go if I wish to. Also, the BYOB is awesome, because I like to have specific wines, and I can truly enjoy the experience that way. They were super great with my toddler, too. Huge plus. Can't wait to come back! The New Jersey Devils 14U hockey team had a special family/team dinner at Sophia's on Friday Sept. 6th. Kim and Chef/owner Chris accommodated our private seating request in a few short days and put together a special menu. (See below). The service and staff (Caleb, Kim, others) treated us all so well. The team was well prepared to win the next morning's game after an exceptional meal. Italians from New York and New Jersey pride themselves on good food - the Italian food at Sophia's far exceeded my expectations. My 13 year old is still taking about it. Portions were so generous. Wow to this place. It's a wow. I was told it is going to be good, and read some reviews here before coming. But this place blew us. I saw some beautiful reviews here. I think they tell the story. I used Sophia’s to cater teacher appreciation luncheon back in May. I had the privilege of working closely with the owner Chris to make sure we pulled off a seamless lunch for our teachers and staff. I submitted a request for a quote to do this luncheon with 4-5 local restaurants Chris was one of two that actually contacted me back. He got back to me within an hour or so of my request. I told him my budget and he came back with a full menu of options that he could provide in that range. After looking over the options that Sophia’s as well as the other restaurant Chris had offered us the best prices and options for our teachers. He even was generous enough to donate a gift card that we could raffle off to the teachers. Chris not only was easy to work with but the food... was spectacular. He provided us with Large portions of delicious food. Our teachers and staff raved about how good it was. Sophia’s Tuscan Grille really went above and beyond for us. They are a staple in the community and really helped to support our local school. I can not say enough positive words about the owner and all staff at Sophia’s. I always heard people talk about how much they LOVE Sophias, but I never was able to get there and try it. My friends and I threw our bestfriend her bridal shower there and I just can’t believe how great the staff was. They let us come early to setup, did everything we asked for with a smile, and when it came time to clean up they pretty much insisted to do everything. They were so helpful/great. Also, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was even more amazing. I highly recommend Sophia’s for a private party, breakfast, dinner, lunch... ANYTHING.
