What’s your signature dish?
My signature dish is gumbo, yet I am versed in many different things. This by far is one of the most requested and my favorite to make.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
I go about creating the perfect menu by hearing the customers' needs and preferences first. We all have different tastes and palates and I feel when you can connect with what the customer individually needs, you can give the best service possible.
What do you love most about your job?
I have loved cooking since I was 8 years old, and I love connecting with people. Food brings people together and it brings me incredible joy to see a full belly and a happy face.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have had a job since I was 15 and didn't have very many good experiences with my bosses. I didn't like the fact that my livelihood was in someone else's hands and with a family as a single mom that scared me. I took a leap of faith, and never looked back.
Why should our clients choose you?
My process for everything is simple. I cater to the needs of the customer instead of shaping my business for the customer to conform to.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have limited my own personal contact with others as much as possible and have testing available daily.

SMBJ provides custom meals for servings of 2,4, or 6.
Catering- 30 people max.
We provide catering and server service by request.
