Hands down one of my favorite people ever. This review is so overdue! Dmitry shot my engagement photos this past spring and the entire experience was above and beyond what I could have ever asked for. Dmitry is talented, and like others have said--he really is blessed with a gift. From the very first e-mail, to the phone consultation, to the actual day of, Dmitry just exudes professionalism, expertise, and passion for his work. My fiance was less than thrilled at the idea of engagement photos, but by the end of this session he turns to me and says "actually, that wasn't so bad"--which is an ENORMOUS compliment!Dmitry will make you laugh, he will break the awkward tension within 5 minutes of meeting him, he captures sentimental moments, and he never puts you in unnatural poses. He knows how to connect with people and he is able to capture moments that you didn't even know could be captured. His photos are incredible, and you can tell that Dmitry takes pride in every image that he shoots. If you are going to take the time to capture an important milestone in your life, do your research and find someone who is truly talented and able to provide you with high quality work--it is worth spending a little bit of extra money for something that you will keep forever. So I really wish there was an option for 10 stars for Dmitry!! My (now) husband found Dmitry through Craigslist for our surprise engagement and booked him to photograph the event with all of our friends and family. Dmitry had never met us, let alone our families, but introduced himself and took fabulous pictures of our family awaiting our arrival for the big question. The pictures are something we will cherish forever. They truly capture the genuine surprise of the occasion. We were so impressed with how the pictures turned out that we asked him to shoot our formal engagement photos. Our engagement photos were taken in the Arb and in the Law Quad at the University of Michigan, where my husband and I met. They are absolutely stunning and we still receive compliments on them all the time. We LOVED our engagement photos so much that Dmitry also shot our wedding! Needless to say our wedding photos are unbelievable. I have never seen photos that capture such emotion and candid moments. None of our pictures look staged or posed. Dmitry met with us several times while planning our wedding, and we discussed our timeline down to the last detail. He came to our venue early and stayed late to make sure he did not miss a shot. Dmitry was with us every step of the way from our engagement to our wedding. We will forever have gorgeous pictures of our special event, and we have Dmitry to thank. Dmitry Shuster is a wonderful photographer who I'd recommend to anybody. He's professional, efficient, and produces top-notch photos. His turnaround time in particular was amazing. I needed photography on relatively short-notice and he was able to accommodate that while most other quality photographers in Ann Arbor were not. He's also got a special talent in bringing out your genuine look, so the photos look great to begin with, but just in case there's a few things to iron out post-production, he's got a meticulous process at the end that will turn your photos into gold. Dmitry is one of the most talented event photographers I have ever seen. In looking for my wedding we looked at all types of photographers at multiple price ranges and styles. Fortunately, Dmitry did some of of our wedding pictures and we were not disappointed. He has a wonderful sense of important moments at an event and the right time and way to capture them. Looking back at our wedding through Dmitry's lens was like reliving the event all over again. It was wonderful and some of the pictures are just pure, beautiful works of art.
