We were a little skeptical of what was in store for us tonight. We were quickly won over by the talent of the wait staff/singers. Our server Aaron belted out a fun rendition of "I am Adolpho" from The Drowsy Chaperone. I have to admit I have never heard this song before but truly enjoyed his performance. I hear he does a great version of "In Summer" from Frozen. Now I have to return to catch that!! We also heard great versions of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "When We Were Young" by Adele and " Long Train Runnin'" by the Doobie Brothers. Great talent. This was fun!!! Screamers is a clean, nicely decorated restaurant dedicated to the University of Nebraska singing group Scarlet and Cream. The serving staff take turns on stage singing hit songs and requests from all times and types of music. Songs are family friendly and there were several kids in the audience the Saturday night we were there. They also sing a very tasteful and fun birthday song that isn't super embarrassing.Everything we ordered was delicious, and I can recommend the root beer glazed short ribs. We went to Screamers for the second time last night. Still impressed! We were greeted with smiles and asked for a song request. Then they performed the exact song we asked for! Such a fun experience. So glad there’s something like this in Lincoln! My husband and I had dinner last night. It was our first time. The singers/wait staff are a hidden gem. They truly make the restaurant. The food, however, not so much. I had Scallops. One was a bit under cooked. They others were wonderful. The wild foraged mushroom risotto had good flavor but was really weird. The rice was instant or boil in a bag, and had an odd texture. Also, with "wild foraged mushroom" in the description, I expected to see more mushrooms. There were a few pieces of mushroom. It had the consistency of Cream of Mushroom Soup. The "toasted corn" did not have a tan nor the expected toasty flavor. My husband had the Best Little Burger in Texas with a side of Whipped Potato and Gravy. When the Burger arrived to our table it was huge!! He said his burger was "pretty good", but was not impressed with the Pretzel Bun. The potato and gravy was tasty. What’s your signature dish?
We have several dishes that are emerging as signatures at Screamers to list a few would include our brussel sprouts which are roasted and served with blue cheese, dates and pork belly, Our Macaroni and cheese featuring Blue, American and white cheddar cheeses, is definitely a crowd favorite. Among our Entrees some standouts would be Frutti Di Mare which is a seafood pasta with our homemade linguine, shrimp, scallops and mussels in a white wine cream sauce and our Root beer braised short ribs served atop a brown butter honey rutabaga purée.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We start with your likes and dislikes while taking into account any dietary restrictions or concerns as well as budget limits, then our chef customizes the perfect menu with creative flavor profiles that appeal to a wide variety of taste pallets.
What do you love most about your job?
Using all of the tools at our disposal to make people happy and make their events special from the food to the entertainment and general interactions we enjoy contributing to and being a part of some of the most important days in peoples lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The desire to see live entertainment grow and thrive in Lincoln, NE as well as the opportunity to create a great space for young talent to grow and hone their skills in entertainment while working their way through school. Then ultimately the connections being made with the public who are always surprised and blown away at the experience they have when dining at Screamers Dining and Cabaret. The reactions to what we do and provide are priceless.!!!
