this is a very LOW KILL shelter who does a wonderful job of helping reunite lost pets with owners and will often work with those who face losing their pet for lack of funds if for any number of reasons a pet gets loose and finds its way to them

I was traveling and my dogs got out of their kenal... They found them and check their chip and went way out there way to find me so could get may dogs back.all in three hours!!

This shelter and the staff are absolutely awesome! You could not meet a more professional group of folks who care so deeply for the animals they serve. The animals receive tender loving care. They have well established policies and procedures to guide staff and volunteers in providing the best, trauma informed care possible. I volunteer and am proud to be a part of this amazing place. I volunteer a lot of my time here and I love it because everyone cares so much about the animals. I enjoy dedicating my time to these fur babies who are looking for their forever home and all the other volunteers feel the same way. It's a very caring community.

My boy Nickles was a 6 year old male cat, his second visit to the shelter. The people who introduced us were very kind and they cared about the animals genuinely. My boy is now Nicholas, he climbed in my arms the second night and wept tears. He bonded right then, and now he sticks to me, right down to bopping me nose to nose before bed. Somehow my animal landed in the shelter while I was in the hospital over the weekend I was only able to find out when I got home Tuesday and today I rescued my pet which was very difficult for me emotionally The shelter took wonderful care of my cat and everything went well we were reunited and she came home with a full medical checkup and lots of smiles

We are so blessed to have such a valuable resource in our community with so many programs to help EACH member of this county be the best pet parent they can be. I have been on both sides of the tracks over the last 20 years when it comes to pet ownership. Through the SCCA I have adopted and was able to spare no expense to insure they had the best care. Like many, circumstances changed as time goes on and I found myself unable to provide for and having to surrender loved, furry family members. Each team/staff member that I have had the pleasure of meeting showed such sincere patience, compassion and kindness during a time of loss. Their words and actions helped heal the guilt and shame that I struggled with, and that had prevented me from coming in before crisis struck. Most importantly, they were able to find loving homes for each of my animals. A couple weeks ago, we had to do one of the hardest things ever, and put our elderly (and very sick) dog to sleep. As heartbreaking as it was, my husband and I were extremely impressed with the compassion, sensitivity and professionalism shown by the employees at the shelter. They helped us through the process, gave us extra time alone with our old boy to say goodbye, and were extremely gentle with him throughout. Thank you for making a hard day much less so. Went to check out the selection of dogs for a potential adoption. First off - the facilities are really nice and the caregivers are so into providing the best experience imaginable for the animals there.
