Just finished six week challenge today. Can’t tell you how great I feel having survived the tough days and the sometimes tougher days after. I feel stronger, more fit and emotionally better. I can’t say enough good things about Santa Cruz Boxing. I really enjoyed my 6 week challenge. It was hard work but Brian and Michelle were always very positive and encouraging. Here are some of the things I liked. I like that all different levels are able to work out together. Brian and Michelle will always give you an exercise accommodation if you are really struggling with a certain exercise. So all levels are really welcome. You are never made to feel bad or less than because you can’t do something everyone else might be able to do. Hitting the bag is AWESOME!!! You learn all these different punches and kicks. There is a dummy named Bob you get to beat up each class. YAY!!! You also do floor work. Ok not my favorite cause it’s challenging but you literally work every muscle in your body. Started off not being able to do a push up and now I can to 4 half push ups...lol. Is half push ups even a thing...:). Anyways.... Which leads me to say one of the things they instill is persistence not perfection. So you just have to keep trying. You don’t have to be some Ronda Rousey. I also like one of their other rules which is keep moving and have fun. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get the right punch combination as long as you keep moving and are having fun. No day is ever the same. They switch it up every class so you never get bored. Brian and Michelle at the end of each class give you positive affirmations to shout out to help you have a healthy mind as well as a healthy body. Now this one might not be important to everyone but is to me, the place doesn’t smell like a stinky gym. And last but certainly not least and should be at the top is “Charlie” our boxing mascot. He greets everyone each morning and is in my eyes a great therapy dog. Always calmed my nerves whenever he would greet me. I give this place 10 stars. You won’t regret taking the class. It isn’t easy but if you show up you “will” make it to the end. I am signing up for a second challenge and look forward to encouraging those new to join. More...

I always wanted to learn how to box and never took the time. So finally I started training at this club and love it. Its fun and the instructors are very good. Brian is a great trainer. He explains what he wants to see clearly and tells you what you are doing wrong or right. Everyone is friendly at the gym so I highly recommend it if you want to learn some self defense. The workouts are hard too which is what I was looking for. More...

I just went through the 6 week women's only fitness challenge here and it was great. It was everything I had hoped it would be. I gained muscle, lost fat, got more toned and had fun doing it. The owner, Brian, couldn't have been more encouraging while still pushing you to do your best, and kept it positive. The other women in the class giving support was awesome, too. I hear the other classes here are great as well. There is something for almost anyone, in any shape. Check it out and you will be glad you did. Give Charlie a pat for me when you do. :) More...

I recently participated in the 6 week challenge and have signed up for the next one. It was the most fun I have had while working hard! What I loved about the classes was the true sense of camaraderie with the women in the class. Brian is a incredible instructor and always kept the class interesting and fun. Of course the results took awhile to notice but my strength, energy, and self confidence have noticeably risen.
