I recently became a member of San Diego Fitness and started training with Stephen Castro. After just a couple of sessions, I'm already experiencing a remarkable transformation in my body. If you're truly committed to improving your body and overall health, I can confidently say that this is the place for you. In the past, I used to work out on my own without really pushing myself, but since joining, I find that I can consistently reach new limits every day. Stephen is truly awesome! Hannah Doughty-My first experience lifting was with Hannah, and I could not have asked for a better introduction. She came up with several detailed plans for me to choose from to suit my specific goals and schedule. She gave me thoughtful advice on everything I asked about that would affect my training goals, from nutrition to number of sets and even sleep.Furthermore, Hannah is one of the most encouraging and inspiring people I have met, period. She is not just well-versed on the technical details of physical training, she is a gifted coach. It's easy to forget how important this is, especially when you are glancing through different businesses and don't really know the trainers you're considering. But a training plan is only valuable as long as you engage with it, and Hannah has the passion and care to keep you moving toward your goals.I cannot recommend Hannah enough as a physical trainer. She is deeply knowledgable, inspiring, sensitive to her trainees needs, and an all-around fantastic girl. I haven't checked out any other trainers, but I have no desire to after my experience with Hannah. San Diego Fitness is not so much a "gym", but rather training facility featuring a staff of fitness trainers, primarily focusing on individual training. They do train in pairs, and I believe there are occasionally group classes. While weight training is only done with a trainer, the cardio machines are available to clients outside of personal training sessions.

I have been working with my trainer, Jay, for almost two years. Although he is personally accomplished in the area of fitness, and has a athletic background, he's really effective at helping people new to fitness. Or, in my case, someone that was fit in the past, but fell off the wagon. He understands and has lived that common tale, and he effectively helped me navigate my way back to a healthy weight and muscle mass. I'm middle aged, but I've seen him be effective with younger clients, as well.

It's not cheap, but I decided that spending money on health and fitness is much more important than other discretionary expenses. And I just wasn't getting it done on my own. If you need it, I highly recommend SD Fitness and Jay.

I am so blessed that I was able to find a gym like San Diego fitness and a great group of people who share their passion of fitness and positivity influence such life changes. Fitness literally saved my life. I’ve been working with Jay for a little while now and look forward to every workout with him! Not only is he’s knowledgeable but he makes the workouts and diets so simple for beginners which makes it easy to follow and get great results. Jay is also super flexible with his schedule which I had found difficult
In the past since my busy nursing schedule makes it difficult at times. I highly recommend hiring Jay and checking out San Diego fitness in this beautiful area of sorrento valley😊

I recently decided to get into better shape after a shoulder surgery and found San Diego Fitness. I started with Jay in early January 2023 and he is a great trainer. I told him about my health issues and he listened and did his own research to better understand my health issues and find exercises that work best for me. He was very willing to work with me and any limitations that I had, which I greatly appreciate. He communicates well and is always willing to answer my questions. He asks for feedback after completing an exercise set and wants to know my thoughts on the amount of weight and reps. He wants to see good form and shows me the correct way to do an exercise/lift first. I also like the check-ins with him the next day to see how I am doing. He definitely puts the client first and is always encouraging me to do my best and get the most out of the workout.The gym is in a good location and always clean with lots of equipment, cardio, free weights and it also has an outside area for training. It has three bathrooms with full showers and supplies, which is a nice feature. Great place! More...

I’m so happy I found my personal trainer , Jay Couberly on this site ! He is an amazing trainer and really knows his stuff . Has been doing this for 15 years and it shows . Wants me to reach my goals , but also makes sure I don’t get hurt in the process . Shows me how to do exercises correctly . He understands the physiology of fitness and nutrition . My story is very similar to a lot of people who walk through the doors of every gym. 10 years ago I was almost 100 pounds over weight feeling like there was no hope or answer. I invested in a trainer and worked with him 3 days a week over the a span of 3 years. Over time I was able to learn how to eat well, feel confident walking into a gym and working out on my own. If i can do what was done for me the feeling is indescribable. Thats what i love about this career. Helping people realize its possible.

My success is based on our sucess together. I take that very seriously. If you dont hit your fitness/health goal then I didn’t provide enough assistance, information, education, or energy. That hasn’t been the case in my career. I thrive off people getting to there goal its not just your goal its our goal.
