We used Sage Bleu Catering in Astoria Oregon to do our big staff and family dinner for our annual retreat this year, and the whole experience, from planning to dessert, was lovely. Lavonne took the time to understand our needs and budget, talked through the setting with us (which shifted at the last minute because of the heat), and ultimately prepared a multi-course delicious meal that met everyone's dietary needs and had all of us talking for days about how good it was. (That last part is a big deal-- our org specializes in local foods, we are all a little obsessed with good food, and we have some amazing cooks of our own in the mix!) The food was phenomenal, communication was consistent and always super helpful- Lavonne offered to bring her own plates when we weren’t satisfied with the plates at our rental for our dinner! We had Sage Bleu Cater our intimate wedding this year in Cannon Beach and it was a wonderful experience. Lavonne was very communicative the whole year leading up to the big day and when the pandemic hit, she worked with us to adjust our menu appropriately. The apps were delicious and the dinner was perfectly cooked. We even worked out a brunch platter for the next day which was perfect, since the last thing a I wanted to do the day after my wedding was make breakfast for everyone. I was blown away on our charcuterie box i ordered for Mother’s Day!very large and everyone enjoyed the huge selection of treats! a great value as i bought the box for 4 but could’ve served more as we have leftovers and ended up being our meal instead of an appetizer! delivered 3 hours earlier than expected which was also great! Only thing i would suggest is to label what’s in little containers ( hummus, mustard, pate? ) and desert cookies separated. But i will definitely do this again !! Thanku !! More...

Our organization had a multi-day off-site event in Astoria.  I have had an opportunity to plan and participate in 100's of events, small to very large.  Lavonne was absolutely incredibly easy to work with.  She is extremely professional, yet personable at the same time.  She was able to take the meal requests, which included many food limitations, and create an incredible meal plan for our group.  We are three weeks out from our event and still hearing how great the food was, how friendly the staff was, and are being asked when we will do another offsite so they can feed us!Additionally, it was very easy to work with Lavonne regarding payment.If you need great food, fun and professional people to work with, and an overall incredible experience, you will not be disappointed if you select Lavonne at Sage Bleu Catering. I had planned my first work retreat for our group of 55 in Astoria, OR.  One month before the retreat, I found out the caterer I had booked wasn't going to do the job.  I frantically reached out to other caterers in the area and Lavonne was quick to respond.  She worked with me to quickly put together a menu that easily accommodated multiple dietary restrictions.  She also worked with me on the timing of payments due to the short time between signed contract and retreat start date. The thought of planning a special 'destination event" from another part of the country was stressful. Luckily, I found Lavonne and Sage Bleu Catering in Cannon Beach, OR through a web search. I relaxed almost immediately during our first conversation. I found Lavonne to be very understanding, professional, knowledgable, experienced and creative. I had rented a beach house and had had no success finding a nearby restaurant that would do, so decided to go the private chef route. And I am so glad that I did! With only about 2 weeks notice, LaVonne put together a wonderful, memorable dinner for our anniversary. We started with 3 passed appetizers - dates with prosciutto, stuffed mushrooms, and burrata with sundried tomatoes. They were all scarfed up in minutes and were totally yummy. This was followed by a Bibb salad with pears, candied walnuts and blue cheese topped by a lovely lemon vinaigrette (I'd love the recipe, as this was so light and wonderful!). Our entree was a plated Salmon & filet mignon duo, (both of which we had grilled) with broccolini and potatoes. Not only was the food delicious the portions were generous, and everyone loved everything.
