Roxanne McClure Photography

We reached out to Roxanne at 34 weeks to inquire about a last-minute maternity shoot -- she was responsive and able to schedule us within two weeks!  She came to our home and worked with me, my husband and our two dogs to capture some really wonderful images.  Before the shoot, she was totally open to hearing our goals for the shoot and even reviewed a Pinterest board of photos from her portfolio and others that we liked.  At the shoot, she was great about using humor to elicit more natural smiles (my husband hates doing professional photos) and giving us specific direction or suggestions about lighting, locations in our house/around the yard, and types of shots to achieve a mix of lifestyle and posed photos.  Roxanne was a pleasure to work with and sent us a few teaser images within days of our shoot and 50+ edited images in color and in B&W within two weeks.  My sense is that she is much more relaxed than some other photographers we considered in terms of how many outfits you can shoot in and how many images you get -- definitely the best value we found, without compromising quality.  We just followed up the maternity shoot with a newborn shoot (again, Roxanne is more flexible about scheduling this shoot outside of the standard 14-day window, which was great because in the first week, I did not feel prepared to do anything close to a photo shoot), and we are super excited to see the end results.  We looked to her for more direction on the newborn shoot, and while we weren't sure that we wanted studio-type shots going in, we are so glad that she is skilled at doing them!  She surveyed our house, picked a spot to set up, and did a number of posed shots with our baby in the classic swaddle/headband combo.  We did a handful of shots including me, my husband and our dogs again, but the focus was on baby.  I was nervous about baby's feeding schedule, but Roxanne was so great -- she totally gets that newborns are on their own time and gave us time to nurse when we needed to, without any pressure about sticking to a firm 90-minute start-to-finish for the shoot.  We definitely recommend Roxanne! Roxanne is a fantastic photographer and I can't recommend her enough!! She did my maternity and newborn baby photos, and we were all super thrilled with the final photos. She has a keen eye for details in the photo, and as we were taking shots, she took the time to give us direction in posing, brushed aside hair, and generally had us make small modifications in our poses to get the best shot possible. Roxanne is also extremely patient, and dedicated to making sure we get the best possible photos. For our newborn baby photos, the baby started fussing halfway through, but Roxanne took it in stride and waited with us patiently as we fed and calmed down the baby. Although we did the photoshoot in our home, she was able to make the photos look like they were shot in a studio with just a few tricks. For our maternity photos, she had us walk around to several spots in our chosen park to make sure we got a variety of backgrounds. All in all, I absolutely loved the photos that we got from both shoots. They really captured a special time in our lives, and we're having a few of them printed out on canvas for our living room. Roxanne is an amazing photographer! We booked her for a photography session to capture some memories with our baby. She arrived very promptly to our house and was very patient with us and the baby. She captured a lot of amazing shots that we won't be able to do ourselves. Also, she got us the pictures so fast and we were so excited to see all of them. We will definitely contact Roxanne again for future photo sessions as our baby reaches new milestones. We chose Roxanne as our photographer for our maternity shoot on my second pregnancy.  Roxanne was phenomenal at the photo shoot.  She took her time, she was patient with us and great with our then almost 3 year old son.  Roxanne did a phenomenal job capturing our family and helped us create lasting memories.  She is professional, while also being super friendly, warm, sweet and kind at the same time.  She is great at location shoots and I think her talent lies in shooting photos in outdoor sceneries, in fact that is how we discovered Roxanne because she did the maternity photos for a FB friend of mine outdoors on a trail somewhere.  She did such a fantastic job and I fell in love with my friend's photos and the pictures were rustic and romantic.  I knew I wanted Roxanne to be our photographer. Her pricing is also reasonable and she provided us with A LOT of Hi-Res photos.  More than the agreed amount and she edited and adjusted them for lighting and color exposure, etc.  She was willing to travel to meet us.  She also endured mosquito bites too for us since our location was in a garden in  Palo Alto.  We definitely recommend Roxanne for an outdoor location photo shoot.  We would definitely hire her again for a location shoot. Roxanne is a pro. My siblings and I wanted to recreate a childhood photo for our mom for Christmas. As we were all coming back to town for Christmas we were short for time. I highly recommend Roxanne as a photographer for your family.  My family has used her twice for our family photos and she has been excellent at taking photos of our newborn and toddlers.  Anyone with little kids knows how hard it can be to get good photos.  Ours have come out great both times.  Roxanne has been great at taking pictures at our place and off site.  The newborn photos look very professional and the outdoor photos came out very classy.  I am confident you will be happy with Roxanne. Roxanne came recommended to me by a friend that used her for newborn photos. We originally didn't want to do newborn photos but when I saw my friends results we decided to give it a shot. We are SO glad we did! Roxanne was extremely friendly and fun to work with. We did not feel rushed at all and she spent the time helping relax us and the baby so we could get some amazing shots! Roxanne did a wonderful job taking our first set of family portraits. Capturing a photo where everyone is looking in the right direction and has a nice smile can be difficult; throw in a one year old and that task is nearly impossible. Roxanne understands the challenges of working with kids and the need to be patient, and flexible. Our daughter wasn't the easiest to work with, but Roxanne was so kind and understanding. Honestly, if there were a million stars Roxanne would get all of them. Her photography is creative, inspired, and personalized. She is able to capture personality while making even the most photographically challenged (sorry David) look like naturals! She was able capture our twin girls at 9 days old with some of the most beautiful photos I've ever seen, it's been nearly six months and I am still in awe! I can't say enough positive things about Roxanne! She came to our home about 6 days after our son's birth and although it was a very stressful time for our family with little sleep and some feeding challenges, Roxanne made us at ease. She was so easy going and didn't make us feel rushed at all. She was totally willing to work with the baby's 'schedule' and ended up getting some awesome newborn shots for us! I also really appreciated her quick response time whenever I tried to schedule a photo shoot and her turn-around time for the pictures was also pretty quick. She sometimes will even send some good teasers while you wait :) On top of all of this, we got to know Roxanne as a friend.
