What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe it starts with the trust that I, as a photographer, can build with you. The most important part of the photograph is you and your family; it's not the editing style, not a quirky composition or a trendy color palette. All those things are secondary to having a subject that shows us a brief peek into their life and self.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It's always important to know who you are and what you want to show the world. Photography is not only about capturing a moment in time, but about sharing that moment with the world. What makes you, you? How do you see yourself? How do you want to be seen? Those questions help me more than the time or place where you want to take photos.
What do you love most about your job?
Being with people, and getting to know them. I love being able to freeze a moment in time for them and to show them how beautiful and unique they are.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I believe photography is not only about documenting something. It documents, yes, but it is so much more than that. Through photography we share our memories and our emotions with others. Being able to share it with others made me realize that I wanted to do this.
