We hired RJ Aldriedge because of his communication skills and extensive knowledge and experience. Throughout the process, he was very professional and attentive, which was extremely important to us being first-time home builders. My wife and I worked with Randy to build our dream home. Randy was there with us through the entire process, including all the meetings with the architect designing the house, sitting in with his amazing interior designer Karen, and was always available on our schedule to meet at the construction site to check progress and discuss plans and changes. The budget Randy worked up for us was spot on, when the project was complete we were within 1% of budget and the house was built exactly like we wanted. I should note Randy uses the same sub contractors for his jobs so they know him well and his high expectations so they perform accordingly. One unique thing we really liked was the website Randy used to keep us updated on the project schedule and he also uploaded project photos and files for us to see. It really helped us keep up with things on our busy schedules and know what decisions we had to make and by what deadline. Our house was completed just over a year ago and Randy recently came and did a follow up walk through with us. We pointed out some paint repairs we wanted fixed, as well as a cracked tile grout and some caulking needed from a house normally settling. He had people out the next day to do the repairs - at no charge. Randy and his team completed a remodel and addition to our nearly 50 year-old home. The work began August 2017 and was completed April 2018.
The project included removing 20 feet of exterior brick wall and adding 300 sq. ft. to create an open kitchen/dining area, plus a complete remodel of the adjoining family room, adding a covered patio on the back of the home and a covered porch on the front as well as new roof, paint, and doors.
We are very happy with the results and would recommend Randy and his team to anyone considering a remodel..

We hired Randy to build our home in late 2014. We couldn't be more pleased! We wanted something different than what he usually builds, and working with him and his decorator, Karen (who is FANTASTIC! ), we have a "ranch casual" home that fits us and our large extended family perfectly. Working through the wettest spring in 50 years, we experienced some delays, but Randy kept us apprised of the schedule. Karen made sure all our selections were ready when he needed them. He was at our site every day-often twice a day-to check on the trades and the work being done. All the subcontractors had a lot of respect for Randy, and did excellent work. He went through several times and fixed little nitpicky things that he noticed. And he has worked with us over the last year to fix all the little things we noticed while living in the space. I hired RJ Aldriedge to remodel my bathroom and kitchen. I was having problems in the bathroom with lack of hot water and poor heating and the kitchen needed a refresh. After we dicussed what I wanted and the problems I was having, Randy provided me with a concise outline of the job and cost. The workman were excellant and did a beautiful job. They kept the worksite as clean as possible each day. Randy supervised each phase of the job and checked in with me to make sure that I was satisfied with the work. We've lived in our home built by RJ Aldriedge for over a year now. We are very happy with it. Before the build we were given a detailed time line which we could monitor via a user friendly hi tech web site.
We never felt unsure of what would happen next or when. During and after the build Randy Aldriedge promptly took care of all our concerns. Randy's organized way of doing business made the whole building process enjoyable. After our first year in the house we submitted a long "punch list" of items to be addressed. Randy promptly hired the necessary people to fix all our minor concerns. Randy is in the neighborhood often, making sure things are working like they should. He is very approachable and we highly recommend Randy Aldriedge.
15 months after the build my wife and I decided that our back door was hinged in a swinging direction that we wanted to change. I asked Randy about it and he sent a crew over within a few days to change the hinges to the other side. A few days later the painter came over to repaint and weather strip the door. Making a door hinge from the other direction is a very big task and I was so thankful to have Randy just make it happen....he didn't even charge me anything for it. Again... if your thinking of using Randy Alderidge for your build, my wife and I are extremely happy with his work.

This is the second job Randy has completed for us and it was a major renovation from the front door to our back door, including wall removals, new kitchen updates and design, update design and flow and lighting throughout the main living area of our house, including re-design of the fireplace. Randy used pictures of our preferences and we designed a home that we are absolutely delighted to call ours. We scrapped the ceilings, added new wall texture and paint, new maple, hand-scraped flooring throughout and updated the kitchen to function more efficiently and is a delightful workspace. Randy provided a budget that was satisfactory and he stayed within the budget and estimated timeline. Although we encountered a few installation issues, Randy promptly addressed any and all of our concerns as he was always concerned that we were happy with the product and the process. I highly recommend RJ Aldriedge; the workmen showed up when planned, they consistently cleaned up the work area and Randy provided sound management throughout the process. Contracted to have a new custom designed home built - ~3750 sq. ft. Overall quality of construction is very good - material and workmanship. Overall construction time was 6 months, 1 week, including ~ 1 week lost to weather delays. The home had many upgrades added after the initial contract was signed. The builder was very accommodating of changes and upgrades. We have been in the home 1 month now and have found a few minor items requiring repair (typical of new construction). We used R.J.Aldriedge to build our custom home. We heard all the horror stories about building a house from the ground up, but working with Randy's crew we quickly realized everyone else had not been using the right builder. He is very hands on and involved himself in the entire build process. There was no cutting corners or use of cheaper materials to increase his profit margin. Everything was done to perfection; and if it wasn't, he would fix it! The bottom line is that if you want to build a beautiful, very energy efficient custom home, with the least amount of stress and worry involved, you need to have R.J. Aldriedge build your next home. The R.J. Aldriedge Companies are excellent home builders and remodelers. My wife and I have had them add a second story and additional rooms to our house, as well as remodel the Master living, bath and closet space.
Most recently they have remodeled our living room and kitchen and touched up our dining room and foyer. They have a very specific and methodical manner in quoting, and then scheduling the work; and they stayed within the schedule! The sub-contractors are excellent, and the attention to detail is superb! The trim guys are true craftsmen! The real key is that they stand by their work, and if something goes wrong, they come back and fix it. Specifically, on the previous job three years ago, some of the wood flooring in the bedrooms started buckling six months after the job was finished. The flooring contractor realized their mistake and repaired all of this, at no cost to us. This is the type of contractor you want to deal with, someone who does not leave you with inferior work to let you deal with it!
Also his ideas and suggestions on the kitchen project were very helpful and insightful, and we have been extremely pleased with some of his design suggestions. It is refreshing to deal with a builder who can think beyond the construction tasks. In a word these are true professionals and you will not be disappointed.
