We were not expecting our Rio Azul dinner to be one of the highlights of our annual Palm Springs trip, but that tortilla soup! !!! Â Beautiful broth, perfect chicken, and exactly the right portion of tortilla. Â We also had the cochinita pibil- clearly cooked by a master and with love. Went to Rio Azul for Drag Brunch and was very pleasantly surprised. The food and drinks were good. My husband had the carnitas tacos and I had the chilaquiles. The best part of our visit was the drag show itself. The cast was on point and kept us laughing from the beginning. The host, especially, was fantastic. She was so engaging and interactive. Very tasty food .  Ordered their Burritos, fajitas ,  guacomole prepared fresh on the  table and the meatball soup. All were good portions and tasty.  Price was on the higher side even when  compared to Bay Area standards. Went to Sunday brunch. Just the two of us, sat with all strangers in a town where we knew no one. We were told to give it a try. We are sk glad we did. The service staff were nice, gave good recommendations on what to order for food and drinks. The drinks came out quickly and to food soon to follow. The drinks were delicious and the food was hot and tasty.Then, the entertainment begins. About 30 seconds in, you are absolutely mesmerized, laughing, captivated and totally wanting more of these individuals. We are so glad we went to this show. From the laughs, entertainment value, people we met at our table, this was absolutely worth what we paid for tickets and then some.We had an absolute blast and would recommend this to anyone that comes to the Palm Springs area and wants something to do on their vacation, or to anyone that lives in the P. Oh my god. This place is fabulous. Came for the first time on a Sunday and was blown away by the following: tortilla chips and salsa are BOMB, agua chile was tasty AF, cochinita tacos were super good, camarines a la diabla was soooo yummy and flavorful, the flan was great, and the cucumber margarita was strong amd delicious. We recently went to the drag show brunch and had a great time! We got there an hour before the show started and enjoyed a bottle of champagne. The music is very loud and getting everyone pumped up before the show. The service was a little slow but that is what I kinda expected with an event like this. Lot of people getting served all at once. Regardless the servers were very friendly and accommodating. The food was pretty good. Would have been better if was just a normal dinner service but overall nothing to really nit pick over. Now onto the divas. They were fabulous! Some of those ladies can really shake it and dance! We loved the "fish bowl" round where it was a random song the ladies had to improvise to. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the food and show. Absolutely delicious Mexican food! My boyfriend got the carnitas plate and he said it was perfectly crispy. I had the plaza tostada with pork cochinitas and I substituted romaine lettuce for the iceberg--best tostada salad I've ever had! The pork was so juicy and seasoned just right! Service was great too! Came here for drag brunch last Sunday and it was amazing! $25 for brunch (not including beverages) and a show was a steal. Loved the amazingly talented performers. The food was pretty good. There were about 12 different brunch options and a few had "no substitutions" printed underneath. Probably not the best place for a picky eater but if you're really coming here for the drag show then it really won't matter. Would definitely come back here. At here at 2pm last Saturday, not busy at all. Plenty of parking. The waitress was very sweet and pleasant. She has a great sense of humor too. The Fajitas for two is huge. Can almost be a Fajitas for three. They give you a ton of guacamole too. Also had a fantastic large margarita. Can't complain here. I'll be visiting this place next time I'm in palm springs. More...

Giving this establishment 5 stars. Here's why..We made a reservation for 7. Showed up early & got seated right away. The service was impeccable! Everyone was so attentive to everything. The food... where do I begin! The molè enchiladas were SO YUMMY! The atmosphere is so amazing, too. I highly recommend dining here if you're ever in the Palm Springs area. As a whole, this is a standard mexican place with the type of food and decor I would expect. The prices are a little expensive. I came at an earlier dinner hour, so it wasn't busy and th service was pretty good until a large party came in. The chips and salsa are pretty good.
