I’m disappointed with the service I received. I hired Revelation Events in the beginning of this year. The price that he quoted was reasonable and that is why I hired him to be my DJ for my birthday party. He also mentioned that he was going to include free saxophone. I gave him a mini list song to play at the party and none was played. He disregarded my list and played whatever he wanted. My guest had to go up to him and ask him to play songs they wanted to listen. Another thing, I paid for a DJ service. I know he included his saxophone music for free but to play it for entire hour was unacceptable. I paid for music to be played like if we were in a club, not a solo band artist. I was reading the other reviews and another client had the same issues as mine. Alex, does have potential and he is professional but I think he can improve if he listens to his client more rather than do his own thing. More...

Wow this review really is contrary to what I saw at the event. First I always let my clients know the playlist provided is a guide as to what to play but never a playlist to play song by song. Playlists to mix depend on many variables including bpm, vide, keys among other things so I got many of the songs suggested and mixed them with my music to make sense. If you want your songs played song by song you don’t need a Dj, just rent two speakers and play your Spotify playlist through them. It’s way cheaper. We as Dj’s create an experience with our knowledge of music and mixing. Besides I was very clear about this on our phone conversations. The songs guests asked me for at the end were not included in the playlist provided and still guests coming to request is something that happens always no mater what.and it is an option I provide as a profesional. The saxophone I played for a set which is 45 to 50 minutes with 10 to 15 min of rest which is what we spoke since the beginning. besides if you didn’t want the whole set you should’ve asked me to stop playing sax. Which by the way was played only while dinner was happening. I don’t know how you would want dance music as people are eating: through out the whole party people were dancing and having fun. Wow this is one of those reviews you don’t expect. I put a lot of effort and dedication to receive reviews like this not to mention super competitive pricing.

I highly highly recommend Alex for any event , he is professional, attentive to detail and reliable. The saxophone was a hit at my daughters engagement party and the dance music kept everyone dancing through the night. Last night I had a retirement party for my husband and Alex was the highlight of the night! His entertainment was phenomenal. He started the evening with the saxophone then played amazing music. Alex was amazing, he adapted beautifully to the okder audience (my dad turned 99). His sax playing is great and added a touch of ckassiness to the event.
He has all the equipment and a great attitude. Everything was under control, i did not stress one bit and everyone had a great time!

I wanted to take a moment to post regarding Alex’s recent Saxaphone performance at my private event. My guests and I were blown away as Alex completely exceeded expectations. His performance was cool, contemporary, and felt like we were at a private concert. At one point he had the whole group dancing which was the last thing I expected from a Sax performance. Leaving a second review because I can't comment on Alex's response.
Rather than acknowledge his mistakes he attacks his customers and calls them a liar.
We sent him a specific music file to play for our dance that was already cut from the original. Instead of playing that he gets the original and cuts it at a minute. Thanks for wasting our lessons for a choreographed dance. Poor listening skills if you ask me.
It doesn't matter if you include extra things at no cost when you can't do what we paid you to do. Those "extras" weren't even that great. I rescind my statement about his ability with the saxophone; he can only play if he has accompanying music.
People make mistakes, you have to accept them and move on. I left an honest review and told you exactly what you did wrong.

You already left a review and now leave another one. I don’t understand how this works but in more than 18 year providing services I have never seen this happen. Let me address the issue again. The songs that was sent for the first dances I played exactly as the bride asked me too. She said to cut at around one and a half minutes. I asked specifically because it’s a mater of taste . Secondly I never attacked no one in no way. I treat everybody with upmost respect and do respect the opinion of people. At the same time this doesn’t make any sense. By the way the saxophone is a melodic instrument that needs harmony backing to make the melodic information being displayed make more musical sense to the listener . Anyways to end this I’ll say I take full pride in what I do and always make the best effort to be excellent and the more than 18 years in the event entertainmet industry speak for themselves . Also even though you rescind your good comments on my ability as a saxophonist I don’t rescind my wish on you and your marriage of life and prosperity and still pray to the lord to bless you abundantly.

His saxophone was great, but he messed up a number of things including the most important part of the wedding that he was part of: he played the wrong song for the first dance despite my wife and her parents verifying he had the music file. Additionally he cut short the songs for the first dance, the mother son dance, and started the wrong song for the father daughter dance. During the rest of the night he didn't play any of the songs my wife specifically asked for as part of the wedding Playlist. It was almost as if he played a random wedding Playlist off Spotify. Very disappointed to see such review when I went the extra mile to make sure the wedding went amazing. I added a light show with DMX style lighting and up lighting that I didn’t charge for. I added a microphone for an extra connection at the ceremony that I didn’t charge for, I also brought an MC without charging anything extra to make sure things went smooth since I was in charge of a few things at the same time and didn’t want mistakes. I know there was a mistake with the father daughter song but the rest of the comment has no basis and it’s totally unfair. The playlist I ask for is a reference as to what to play and I played many of those songs mixing with others that made sense. And the first dance I was instructed by the bride to cut short after a minute an a half which is what I did. I still wish you guys the blessing of the lord on your life brother.

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Understanding the audience. This is never gonna be a perfect science but understanding of how people think and what moves and motivates them is key to providing an amazing musical experience. I’ve been in the music entertainment industry for about 18 years, I have also been a music teacher for an elementary program for many years. I understand how to read the vibe in a room and provide music accordingly.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I have a very Latin style tendency. I’m Cuban. And my sax playing and Dj style obviously show that. At the same time I’m very good at playing difference genres like house, reggae, rock among others.
What do you love most about your job?
I love music and I love making a difference in people’s lives. I know this might sound kind of cheesy but it’s he truth. I love creating an amazing experience where people can forget their problems and come out with joy…
What inspired you to start your own business?
Understanding my talents and knowing there’s nothing better(work related) than doing what you love and having fun.
