I just started personal training with the Goddess that is Radha! She is truly INCREDIBLE! Not only does she work me hard, and make me feel amaaaazing, but she knows my limits and always knows exactly how far to go! She encourages me and is so supportive with my crazy schedule, which helps me alot! Got a trial for here... it was easy, no high pressure from the guy on duty. I liked that it was a huge place, plenty of room and not crowded at 4pm on a Friday when I went. Also a juice bar with all kinds of good protein concoctions etc. I didn't really experience the shaming that a couple of other reviewers did, but I did kind of feel smirked at by the local bro dudes... whether it was because I was in work clothes not workout wear, or just because I didn't look like them or drive souped up Chargers etc; More...

First time coming to this gym. I decided to try it since I got into fitness and was using friends' guest passes. It's very small and in a shopping centre that looks like it's from 1995, but I like that. There's not too many people and you don't have to wait to use a machine. Everything is clean and up to date. There is no gym out there like the Retro fitness of Catonsville! Great staff, members, very clean as well. They have some fun and rewarding group x classes and team group classes on the indoor turf. After coming from a very outdated gym in Plantation, I am very happy about this gym. They have some very cool equipment that I haven't seen anywhere else before. The community here is awesome & so are the managers. It can get a little packed but it's such a great gym so it doesn't matter. The price is spot on. My last gym is now charging $100 a month for group classes and retro is around $40 which is a WAY better deal. More...

I have been Retro member for many years but only recently started coming to Retro East Windsor because I started a new job in that area. I work out in the morning before work, shower at the gym, and then go to the office. A couple of things I’ve noticed and wanted to bring up to your attention: > Promo flyers posted on the full length mirror? One flyer this morning was literally where my face would be.. whats the purpose of the mirror if you can’t see yourself? Can you please consider posting flyers on the empty wall that’s right next to the mirror. > Would you consider putting shower caddies in the showers? There is really nowhere to put the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel but the floor.. which is quite inconvenient. The small plastic hook outside the shower is for the towel and not a good location for toiletry bag.. there should be something in the shower. If you visit other retro locations you would be able to see what they have. I hope you take note of these suggestions. Thank you! More...

I love this particular Retro Fitness, I love the layout I love the machines I love the free weights I like how clean it is it's literally spotless and that's what I look for in a gym because it gym can carry a lot of germs and I'm not there to gain that I'm there to gain muscle thank you retro

This has to be the best Retro I have ever been to, I have worked previously in many locations between PA and NJ and as I left the company I still continued being a member! The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment and bathrooms are very clean and tended to frequently throughout the day. What stands out is the space and equipment, I have never been to a fitness club that has such vast and unique machines, weights etc. I can get a very detailed and lengthy workout in even if I'm feeling a bit random. I have my regular routine I stick with but then I see a newer piece of equipment and go harder! This place keeps me motivated! Can't wait to start coming more regularly here. More...

Retro Fitness in church Avenue is one of the best gym ever. I've been a member since 2017, this place is amazing. Highly recommended. Retro Fitness also has the most caring, respectful, and professional trainers. I had a professional trainer at retro for a year, his name is Alex. When I first started, I was 158lbs. Purchased a Groupon for this place and redeemed it this week for my first workout. Staff member at front desk was very friendly, got me set up in their system swiftly and simply. It was 8PM on a weeknight, and not too crowded, but also not too sparse as to be depressing. It was nicely air conditioned, the bathroom was clean, and there was a station with wet wipes to clean the machines - right by the bicycle I was using. I used two machines and had no issues so far. I definitely feel like this was a worthwhile purchase and if I stay in the area beyond this month, I would definitely consider renewing. Will update if hit any major snags, but as someone who has been a member of gyms like 24 Hour Fitness Sport (not the Super Sport or fancier ones but the basic ones) and other "no frills" chains, I feel like this is standard and a decent place to workout. If people are expecting Equinox, I think it's unfair to write negative reviews given that they are not advertising at the same price point. More...

Retro Wayne is a good gym.  Management is supportive and equipment is fine.  The only problem is during the evening spin classes.  The instructors play the music  or speak incredibly loudly into the microphone making it difficult for members lifting to listen to their own music.  Most of us lift to music that motivates us.  We shouldn't have to blast our eardrums trying to hear our own music over the spin music.  No ceiling in the spin room allows the music to be heard throughout the entire gym - even upstairs.  I've been trying to avoid the gym on spin nights..... Perhaps the cheapest gym near Center City Philadelphia. Even though it's cheap, it is a full gym with great hours and a friendly and responsive staff. Their equipment does not give off that brand new look like the more premium gyms do, but they are still very much usable and safe. I personally highly recommend. The cheapest, no-frills membership is about $20. For $20, this gym is definitely of great value.Also, a huge shoutout to the management team for constantly finding ways to diversify and improve on your services. Also, amazing job finding, hiring, and retaining talent. Throughout my time at Retro, I've not met an employee that wasn't friendly/willing to help. Wishing you guys continued success! More...

Been going to this retro for years and it has always been a very clean gym. The staff and owners have always been very professional and am always greeted with a smile at the front desk. Any issues that I have ever brought to the owners attention have been taken care of in a timely manner. For what you pay for and the services you receive at this gym and location cannot be beat. Retro fitness east Norriton is all around a great place to get a workout in. The ONLY thing it lacks is a sauna. I think a lot of members would love to have one to utilize. The movie theatre room is always playing great movies and it is definitely something other gyms don’t have to offer. The best part about this gym for my family is the child care room. Mervat the baby sitter is absolutely amazing with kids and leaves us with no worry while we exercise. Another added bonus to this gym is the shake center. Retro Fitness in West Long Branch is a great gym. It offers a strong selection of weight lifting and cardio equipment as well as a well equipped free weight area. The staff is courteous and friendly, always ready to assist members. The owners take pride in their gym by having an attendant on premises every day to ensure the workout environment and locker rooms are always clean. All equipment is well maintained and down time is kept to a minimum with technicians usually in to perform repairs within 48 hours.The bottom line: the owners have over 30 years in the fitness business and know a thing or two about running a gym making this Retro Fitness the go to destination when looking for a gym. Been a member for a year, but recently moved for a job.  I guess my time there was really nice.  It's a straightforward no-frills gym.  You get exactly what was promised.  Totally no issues with the facility.That said, now that I left I cancelled and got confirmation in writing (they said they would have to charge the extra month, which I was ok with).  But then they just charged yet another month, and my membership is still shown as "active."  I'm hoping this can be resolved, but if not I guess this rating is going way down.....
